The last few seconds where the sounds just get sucked into the mouse's ears is honestly the best way to visualise how your ears work after they're cleaned.
If a doc is coming at you with sharp tools, it can indeed be painful, especially if they scratch you with one while trying to clean. I strongly recommend not having a primary care or general doctor clean your ears; request an appointment with an ear nose throat specialist and ask for ear-draining. The process of having your ears drained is much more gentle as they use warm water under gentle but form pressure to break up wax in the ear and they have you tilt your head to the side with containers to catch the water and whatever else comes out. Once the big stuff has been drained away, they gently remove any lingering excess wax with tools, but they know what they’re doing and are much less likely to hurt you. I’ve had my ears cleaned both ways, via draining with an ENT and dry picking with tools by a PCP, and the PCP scratched me while the ENT got it done in a much more relaxing and pain-free way.
