I have about 10 varieties of dragonfruit. last year i think i picked most of them too early. but the one that really stood out for me was hailey's comet. delicious sweet/tart with a very pleasant watermelon candy flavor.
I know that the yellow varieties don't fare well in most areas of California , but was surprised you didn't recommend any of the Asunta varieties. May I ask why? Do you prefer the taste of Cotton Candy over the Asuntas? How about over Diego's Desert King?
I purchased a 2 foot pottedMystic red dragonfruit plant 10 months ago. It grew fast with hanging branches made buds here in Florida and continues to drop flowers even if I pollinated them. It's supposed to be self fertile. Looks very healthy, is it too young or what?
Are you referring to 'Natural Mystic'? This is a very fast grower and self fertile. Yours may be too young. However i get 2-4 flushes of blooms per season on mine, so be on the look out

Yes, it was my favorite fruit last year. It is one of Paul Thompson's hybrids, probably 6-S

I like Asunta 2, but it'a so similar to KVA. There are so many different seedlings and the new ones are crazy expensive.
