Absolutely loved this video. I wasn't looking to change from iPhone to android but to understand my android phone. I am one of those seniors trying to understand the android phone I have started using. This video actually helps me as a senior person new to androids phones or any of the technology we have to use to survive in this day and age. Thank you so much.

My pleasure Nebula! Price certainly played into my choice to go with a Pixel2 instead of an iPhone. I also felt like I needed an Android device in my repertoire especially since iOS has not changed all that much and I still have a working iPhone 5 and iPhone 6. I have had iPhone for over a decade. I loved iPhone but my 6S+ was overheating even after a new battery. I want a new phone but they are $1000 ! I bought the Samsung A20. $200. Switched the sim card. That's it. Like it so far. Still learning the muscle memory stuff.

It seems like iOS has more things on the screen at once with mostly icons, whereas Andriod uses layered information displays with text-based options.

Do you have a vid that simplifies using an SD card for an Android device? LOVED this video and I am an apple girl who just had to switch from 128 gigs with a zillion apps to this 16 gig Android (I don't even know what kind of phone it is lol) and I am so freaking out about not having all of my apps... sending the hubby today to grab me an SD card.....which one should I get and how do I transfer things over so they aren't duplicated I guess is my question-to maximize space on the Android with the bloat-ware. Any help would be greatly appreciated. New sub. Thanks for taking the time to compare and contrast to the Android for us who are used to iOS. God Bless

Good video; just purchased my first smart phone which was Android. I wish you had made two separate videos instead--one for Android and one for Apple. It's confusing enough to learn one system.
I just switched to android from iOS...I downloaded most of all my apps that I had on IOS....the Google Play store has the number 16...which I believe is updates...but I dont see them needing any updates...so I can not figure out how to clear that number?? THanks

I’m so used to hitting home button on my iPhone to get to main screen. Locks screen on android though. Is there a similar act for android?
My team and I use iphones so we can sync our calendar, each of us can add, edit and remove calendar events and everyone will receive the updates. Now that I just got a Huawei Mate 20X, hpw can i go about doing this? Thank you
Well it depends on what calendar app you use. If coming from Apple you may use iCal? If iCal still doesn't sync with Google Calendar then you would have search the Google Play store for an app that supports iCal. I would try the Gmail app first though.

I want to use this to teach my dad who has trouble remembering. Unfortunately he wants to make phone calls and text, that's pretty much it and no vids seem to cover this!! Including this one. :(
For phone calls, you open the Phone app. on most phones, it is usually a blue or green phone icon. Tap on it and you can dial what number you want to dial. For texting, open the messages app, enter the number/select which contact you want to text, enter your text in the text field, and tap on the send button. That's pretty much all there is to it.

Koch it depends on what you like more because some people may like the android style more and some people may like the iOS more but for me i prefer android more because not just its beautiful its more cheaper than iOS

tnx 4 sharing... but instead of comparing TWO devices at the same time...it would have been better (for this new user) if the vid' had jst talked about one or the other? i mean, i'am looking to buy my first smart phone (nevr had one before) and really had no idea which one was which in the "side-by-side" demo? this approach would be ok if ur audience already kinda knew wat was up? but as is... this seems like preaching to the choir cuz' the choir pretty much already knows wat ur talking about :)

Tap and hold on (ways?) didn't catch that last word. I'm in my late forties and a newcomer to Smart phones. I can't find a tutorial for that - everyone seems to assume you know the basics. The title didn't let me know this was really for Apple users to compare. Also - you talk too fast! Probably not for the young'uns though, to be fair. Just some feedback from an old lady.

Says this is a tutorial for beginners but this is intermediate. Instead of any real basics he starts out doing something with the screens and saying it as if a beginner knows what he is talking about or how to do anything he is saying.
How about first providing an entire glossary of all words, phrases and lingo, how about explaining all the icons in a phone, where is the explanation and tutorial for basic menu understanding, layout and navigation.
All of that stuff has to be gone over and explained in detail before going into videos like this
Some of us Elderly people need a little more help on how to use the phone from the start .

So, my aged parents want the most basic easy to follow tutorial for an android smart phone. You cannot call this 'beginners' I am a teacher of 22 years... if you teach a beginner you don't do it like this. Call this 'elementary'. Beginners won't understand shite. Sorry. Everyone I know agrees..you go into an IT shop cos you don't know something.. they go 'bip bop boom' and say 'ok it's fixed'..no explanation how or why. I really feel for humanity.
For beginners eh? Lost me in the first 2 minutes - no use whatsoever!
