I found this (A Love Affair: The Music of Ivan Lins) compilation CD of Lins' music at the public library; put it on in the car, and ordered my own copy as soon as I got home. On radio I'd heard the song Sting does & knew the sax had to be Michael Brecker, but the whole project is just gleaming with brilliance. This youtube has the sequence (playlist order) mixed up, but you'll want your own anyway so just go ahead, treat yourself & order one too! Grover, Chaka, Freddy Cole, Vanessa W - just ALL the performances are exquisite.

Ivan Lins carries the torch once held by Tom Jobim ... and Sting's cover is a good match. Velas Icadas is my favorite by Lins, but I don't think Sting quite has the range for that melody line.
