The five attractions I spotted that are no longer there: ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Snow White's Scary Adventures, Legend of the Lion King and SpectroMagic. Did I miss anything?
Also Dreamflight (where Buzz Lightyear is now). This was also before Magic Carpets was put in Adventureland and the old 20K Leagues Under the Sea lagoon hadn’t been plowed yet.
Yes! The Delta Dreamflight!! That was really an amazing attraction! I actually forgot about that. I do remember 20K leagues ride was there but I think it had closed by then. They used the queue for a character meet-up (Ariel I think?). So I never got to ride it. This was a good time for Disney World!!!
@@UnkleHeavy the mid to late 90s 96 to like 98/99 was a good time for me and my family at Disney - we had some great times …. I just went about 2 months ago and had some bad experiences with the staff but still had a great time
It's crazy to watch this and see how cute and pink the castle was. I was born in 1997 and grew up on Disney, when I went back for my 25th birthday Disney was celebrating 50 Years! And the castle was pink again, and I LOVE pink. I LOVE DISNEY!!
Thank you so much, I’m happy you enjoyed it! This video was super special to me as it captures so many attractions that are long-gone and were endearing to many visitors. It was a good time, hard to believe it’s been almost 25 years! 😀 Thank you so much for watching!!!
@@UnkleHeavy Yes! I will be going through old tapes as soon as I get back home later this year! Thank you again for sharing, you just got one more subscriber!
As someone who's been fortunate to go to disney annually, for quite a few years now but was unable to go as a child, it's really neat to see this place i'm so familiar with now back during the times i used to see the commercials and DREAM of the day I could go. sad i never got to go in the 90's
I totally understand, my first visit wasn’t until I was 21. I’m really glad you enjoyed the video and it gave you a chance to see what it was like back then. It was a great time for WDW. Thank you so much for watching!!!
We went in 1995, it was my daughter’s first trip. I remember those yellow rain ponchos they used to sell. If you want to see the Mr. Toad statue it is in the graveyard of The Haunted Mansion.
Thank you for bringing back the memories! This is totally how I remember when I was there back in the 90s! The animatronics (is that what they are called?) were so fascinating to me.
Thank you so much, I'm really glad you enjoyed it!!! 😁 I think the 90's were probably some of the best years for WDW! Thank you so much for watching!!!
I was probably about 5 or 6 when my parents took my sister and I in 94 or 95. I still remember bits and pieces of it. It was the last time I’ve ever been to a Disney park and I’m 32 now.
Oh my goodness! My parents and I were in the mood for a little nostalgia trip and this video hit the spot! Thank you for sharing this pal. Hope you had a great NYE 😊
It's really cool seeing how magic kingdom was in the year I was born! The first time I went to disney world was in 2000 so watching this was somewhat nostalgic
@@UnkleHeavy yes it was so much so we went back every year for 7 years and about 7 times since then haha ….. loved the video - looks exactly like one of ours from back then which brought back so many good memories- Thank you for sharing!
AWESOME !!!! Thanks for sharing this. I first went age 11 in 1994 (from UK), we went again in 96 too i think, i def remember that cake castle ! I remember running off to ride more rides with my big brother and leaving my parents to watch Spectro-magic haha Ever since then i was obsessed with the place. I must have worn out those Disney planning vhs tapes every year that they were available haha Hard to believe they got rid of the Snow White ride ! That's a Disney classic. I went on it last year because i currently live in Japan and Tokyo Disneyland still has all the old stuff i think. Man, i am 38 now but i still dream of taking a 2 week trip to Orlando again someday !!!! Without a doubt, the best memories i have of my childhood are going to Disney world ! In fact my memory is shocking now, but i still remember every inch of the hotel, the parks, the long drive down International Drive, ah good good times. Sorry for the essay, watching this kind of set me off !
Thank you!!! I’m so glad that you enjoyed it! I totally get it; Disney is a real easy place to obsess over!!! I can assure you that the VHS tape I made this from has been pretty well work from overplay. Even to this day, I’m still trying to work out a trip down there. Thank you so very much for watching!!!
If you go now (almost 2024), don't expect it to be anything like you remember. Dirty, discourteous staff, outrageously expensive. And men dressing up and acting like women as a bonus. Do yourself a favor and don't ruin your memories by going back.
Went there in 97, saw the cake. Thought it was awesome. Stands the test of time. You can see the regular cancel anytime. Only one time were you able to see it as a huge birthday cake.
Yeah, the cake castle was such an unusual overlay. I thought it was kind of cool, but I definitely like the original form much better! Thank you so much for watching!!!
tomorrowland was spot on with the voice technology. extraTERRORestrial was the best attraction, it terrified me as a kid! the experiences like that were so immersive. loved going in the 90s, idk if i would even enjoy it now
I went for the first time in 2009, went to Disney Springs (then Downtown Disney) in 2013, went to the parks again in 2016, and went to Disney Springs last year when we went to Universal. This footage was from before I was born, but I've only been to the main parks twice. I still get nostalgia from those trips.
It's truly a magical place!!! It's amazing to watch this video and see how much some things have changed and also how some things are very much the same!!! Glad you enjoyed it, thank you so much for watching!!!!
I remember going during the 25th anniversary and seeing the Cake Castle. Man there were a ton and tons of people that were mad about that Castle change. Possible the worst change to the Castle in all the years of Disney

Kevin Keleher good catch on those ponchos! Mr. Toad was one of favorites of all time. Someday, I'll have to make it out Disneyland to see it there!
Thank you for this ❤ I have been very fortunate to visit every year since 1993 and it warms my heart to see these old videos.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!!! Those were some good times to visit the Magic Kingdom!!!

It was a great time to visit Disney World!
Im really going to miss hearing "Zippidy Doo-Da" when i return for the first time as an adult next year. Havent been since late 90s.
I was really sad to see Splash Mountain go as well. 😔 Have a great visit, the Magic is still there!!!
i went to disney in 97 ! i'm excited
It was a great time for Disney! Enjoy!!!
I started working there in Sept of 97. Yr round pass for 3 parks then was $220 bucks. Now well over a thousand :(
It's incredible how much it's gone up! 😔
Thanks for sharing this! I was there in 1998, and it's great to revisit it with a video from the same time period.

Wish I could've experienced Disney World as a kid. Only just went last year at age 31. It was wonderful. I can't wait to go back.
It was an amazing time to visit back then!
This brings back memories. Haven't seen this in years (I played my VHS tapes to death). Thanks for the memories.

I'm so happy that I got to be there for both! I got to go to Magic Kingdom as a 5 year old in 1997, and then went on my honeymoon to WDW in 2022 :)
