Yeah I have a theory that Marcy likes Anne bc of the poster in season 3 episode 7. This absolutely hits very hard because Marcy just wanted to stay put in the city but because of a new job her dad had, she decided that she would take their personal life’s and put them on the line because she didn’t want her friendships to end. Her parents probably moved by now in somewhere else and now Marcy is going to take a long time trying to figure out where they are. Marcys sick. Marcy is helpless, and doesn’t think right.. Is it bad that if i was in marcy's situation i would do the same thing? Imagine the thought of losing your friends and then you get this chance to be with them forever and you don't know if it'll work or not.
I don't think so, she as the rest is a kinda broken child who didn't know how to do better. They all suffered some kind of abuse, Anne and Marcy mostly from Sasha, they are unstable and trying to do their best while also dealing with all the bullshit they grew up with. It is toxic, but the show seems to be directed towards a redemption arc for both sasha and Marcy, it's ok to make mistakes as long you learn from them. With this what I'm trying to say is, personally if you were my friend, I would end up understanding and forgiving
@@valverios do you WOULDNT want to be with you’re friends forever? You would let them go knowing that you would never see them AGAIN NEVER. EVER. Yeah ok you’re bulls****** me
This made me like Marcy's character more. Not because "Oh she was sad I completely understand I would do the same thing I forgive her." That's stupid. Her feelings, while valid, DON'T justify what she did. What I like is that this made her more complex. Up to this point, while I liked Marcy, it seemed more like her only issue with the group dynamic was that she was clumsy. But this gave us a bigger insight to her character. How she's an introverted nerd with no other friends, who become so desperate to keep the ones she does have that she tricks them into stealing a music box, and traps them in another world so they can be together forever, without ever intending to let them know the truth. She was rash, selfish, and even manipulative at the end, saying things like "I gave you this." To try and justify what she did. And I love it, I love it so much.
Sure it may not cover her actions but keep in mind that she’s 13 and her parents decided to move away and they were the only friends she had. in the moment she was desperate and upset you would probably do the same. she didn’t think it would actually work either. and she did not seem to have a thought about missing home once so there’s a possibility that Marcys parents were mentally abusing her. that’s a lot of trauma for just a girl. Then the king literally stabs her in the back and she’s just 13 😬
That look in Marcy’s eyes was of pure and true desperation. Just looking at her and listening to her, I couldn’t even tell myself if she was trying to convince her friends of what she was saying, or trying to convince herself. There was always a deep sense of innocence and genuine wonder within, but it never seemed to work that way. Anyways, ughilovemarcysomuchshessopreciouss
Anyone reading this: Spoil me the rest of how this conflict unfolds I'm not going to make my parents pay for cable TV again just so I won't watch it after 2 - 4 years.
Sorry for my English, im not a native speaker. There is a Web with the name of Elmundodeanneysprig, you can watch Amphibia there. If you wonder about the name, it says The World Of Anne and Sprig, but its in Spanish for those who cant see the serie officially. Dont worry, it has the episodes with and without subtitles in English and Spanish. I hope I helped, a.
I know nothing about this show. But the fact that a child who seems to be around 10-11 years old, is so lonely that they're willing to trap their friends in an alternate world is disturbing for me. Less because she betrayed the trust of her friends and more so that, that action has nasty implications. I'm assuming she was fine with leaving her parents behind which implies that they were either emotionally neglectful or otherwise abusive to her. Seeing how she was willing to go behind their back and trap them in another world, I'm pretty sure these two were the only significant emotional attachments she had. That frog king just destroyed the only emotional relationship this child has likely ever had and fucking laughed about it. That's degusting for a number of reasons. And while what she did is clearly wrong and the truth had to come out eventfully I can safely say that motherfucker only did it out of malice. Don't you dare correct me about anything I just said.
2 times they are the betrayals but one was only good and true free it would take to feed the greater evil free it will take to power the gems I will This end
It hits harder after you watch the entirety of s2 bc you get too know Marcy and most likely start too like her as a character and than true colors happens
This episode showed Marcy as more than just the clumsy nerd that she seemed like initially, now it showed her to be so alone in the world, she was willing to do something desperate and reckless in a bid to keep her only friends at her side, even though it meant she would betray them, drag them away from their homes, and endanger their lives. Only when the cards were down did she realize that by doing this, she would lose both of them, now that they couldn't even trust her, and had her to blame for all of this.
This episode was great because this is where we learn about what Marcy actually needs from Amphibia. Sasha and Anne were already tackling their emotional issues of learning to be on equal footing in a relationship and learning to stand up for yourself, and only here do we start to see what Marcy actually needs;not some adventure where she can be her best nerdy self, but an intervention to realize that holding on may only hurt the thing you want to keep with you.
when Marcy says "I did it for us" you notice Anne's eyes grow larger as if her worries that started just 30 seconds ago were confirmed. and this is why I love this show. the small things. and then when Sprig walks backward as he is pointed out showing that Marcy is truly alone in this battle.no even this 10 year old frog agrees with Marcy. ahh this is such a GOOD seen. this is amphibia at its peak. chef's kiss.
Bruh i haven't even watched this show but now for some reason i really like her- I guess i can relate to finally connecting with someone but then being forced to never see then again (and wouldn't you know, by parents, too!) So I'd like to go on a magic adventure as well. I would miss my parents...but I'd still do it.
I love my friends that sometimes I also get that feeling that I wanna be selfish and be with them. That's how I feel but I don't know how they feel and I also hate how I can get so possessive of them. It's so understandable yet you can't justify it.
Life: Gives Marcies Dad a new job out of state. Marcy: Brings Herself and her friend to a new universe just at the fact for moving out of state. Me: I think Marcy has some attachment issues.
Is it weird that I don't think Marcy is a bad person? She did bad things, but I don't think she was ever a bad person. She knew about the music box, but there's no way she could have known it would actually work. And it makes sense she'd want to stay. Why would she want to go back to where she just makes mistakes and is the weirdo and move away from her friends? Here, she's an awesome ranger/artificier, people respect her and she can do what she wants.
That’s not weird because she isn’t a bad person. She just made a REALLY bad mistake. She really messed up. But she’s not a bad person, just very impulsive.
the "i gave you everything" hit me bad. she is a 13-year-old, she didn't mean to do this all, she has genuine intentions. she didn't want to be separated from the only people she felt cared for her. she didn't want to be alone, she wanted them to stay, she wanted them. The way that they backed away from her... she never meant to hurt ANYONE, but in the end she hurt herself.
I don’t watch this show but DAMN! As someone who’s had a rough breakup with friends I’ve known for 20+ years (since elementary school), this hits home.
honestly, the kid was just scared to like leave their friends. when you grow too attached to someone, you start to fear about the time that will soon come, which will separate each one of your friends or stuff. they're still a kid.
Is it strange that this made me like Marcy more than I did before? Idk like she was my favorite character because I loved her personality and the concept of her but there wasn't really much depth in her character. This makes her character so much more complex and developed.
I liked Marcy more after this because she really was desparate in a way that was ultimately understandable. At the start of this episode, I realized what was going to happen but it still hit hard even though Marcy seemed to be the most established to want an escape from her life. The signs were there with all her interests and hyperfixations I feel like this scene really hit hard because up until this point, the only character development Marcy got was stuff that played into her "smart friend trope", making her seem pretty well adjusted considerng her quirks whereas Anne and Sasha started to realize who they were and wanted to be over the course of their screen time. This is where we learn that Marcy's issue is that she couldn't let go and is just as in need of a change in herself as Anne and Sasha were.
kinda unrelated but when he said: "that one of you might have gotten you stranded in amphibia on purbose" the captions said: "that one of you might have gotten you stranded in amphibia on burbers"
PLS THE FEAR IN HER EYES MAKES ME CRY, WHO CARES IF SHE SOUNDS CRAZY I LOVE HER “spoilers” When she got killed I rewatched until I was done crying. Haha
Marcy is the most traumatized and emotional person, I have proof. she ran away from home and was very clumsy her dad wanted to move away she ran away crying, she got trapped in a world that she didn’t know would work. She almost died multiple times but then she did, her friends became scared of her and didn’t wanna be with her after King Andreas told them what Marcy did, but then she has died in front of the eyes of Anne and possibly Sasha. Died by someone she LOOKED UP TOO and TRUSTED. Marcy didn’t do anything wrong she just didn’t know, an innocent intelligent and clever woman had this much trauma? Her last words were “I’m sorry for everything” It has to be the best last words. FNF fans, it’s like Garcello apologizing for dying.
I remember crying at this scene when you've got attachment issues this hits home its really hard to admit your the one wrong with attachment issues, you've always gotta justify why you did that messed thing you did, you practically ruin lives friendships and families just to keep that person close it doesn't work out your only hurting you and that person. Oop I went off topic anyways what I'm trying to say is I understand what she was going through this is the second character I relate to right before Spinel from the SU- ['Steven Universe' ] Franchise
I know I’m 10 months late, but as a Marcy kinne I felt rlly bad. I cried many times while watching this. I just want the creator to know that this is absolutely genius. The song and everything. My friends don’t understand why I cry every time I hear the name Marcy bc I immediately think of True Colors. To those who found Marcy annoying or were in the way of Sasha and Anne’s friendship, u rlly need to rethink ur life choices. Marcy deserved better friends who respected her interests. Sasha and Anne shouldn’t have ignored it. The poor lil bean didn’t know she was ACTUALLY gonna go to Amphibia, she just thought it was a gag. She was afraid of losing her ONLY friends which must’ve felt pretty lonely bc she was nerdy and a geek. Marcy deserved better friends. She deserved the world, and you cannot change.my.mind.

They're literally 13 year olds, one who's scared of being left behind and trying to hold on
What she did was bad, but she hadn't seen that until now, this was her final attempt at an escape and she was killed after the consequences had shown
Yeah I have a theory that Marcy likes Anne bc of the poster in season 3 episode 7. I know she just didn’t wanna leave, she just wanted to stay with her friends. Marcy probably liked Anne..
she's not even wrong though, she did give them everything
@@tidepodpadthai2633 YES. im so late but amphibia is still my favourite show
she tried to get them into dnd and fantasy stuff before right, they didn't like it. but now in amphibia they're there and they like it and they see what she sees in all those worlds. she thinks she's right, she was basically PROVED right in convoluted logic
"I GAVE *YOU* EVERYTHING!"
.
.
.
"If i didn't *I* would've had nothing..."
Don’t worry 😉
I think Marcy forgot that she could use Google Meet, Zoom etc.
I think she just wanted to spend time with them more physically and not… ehh… digitally.
But good statement lol
_Sis really could have-_
Marcy probably wasn’t in a good state, she did something rash in desperation.
I mean with how clumsy she is she probably could've died without them
even though ya you can keep in touch with friends digitally, it’s never the same as being able to hang out with them in person
she would’ve missed out on things she did with them in the past like sleepovers, drinking boba together… seeing them online isn’t the same as physically having them by your side
plus she’s mentioned before that she admires anne for being able to “make connections” and bond with other people, something that she isn’t as good at
Marcy really went " I gave you everything" to "Sorry for everything"

Because I called it, months ago.
Same here lol I saw her in the first episodes of season two and I was like something ain’t right
Yeah the fact that the characters were talking about how trustworthy Marcy was so often sounded like foreshadowing
It took me seven seconds to realize that it was Minecraft music, absolutely iconic
Is it bad that if i was in marcy's situation i would do the same thing? Imagine the thought of losing your friends and then you get this chance to be with them forever and you don't know if it'll work or not.
that's what makes her such a good character, and episode. cuz i would do the same.
kind of
I don't think so, she as the rest is a kinda broken child who didn't know how to do better.
@@valverios not at all
@@valverios do you WOULDNT want to be with you’re friends forever?
And I love it, I love it so much.
ok but the thing you called "stupid" is the truth lmao
Me: this song really makes this scene kinda sad-
Andias: I spilt the tea 🍵 💅
Me: King Andrias stop being a queen
KAHDJDHSMSHS
I feel bad for Marcy, but I can’t excuse her actions.
Yea but she still my fav, i mean its just a fictional cartoon
Sure it may not cover her actions but keep in mind that she’s 13 and her parents decided to move away and they were the only friends she had. in the moment she was desperate and upset you would probably do the same. she didn’t think it would actually work either. and she did not seem to have a thought about missing home once so there’s a possibility that Marcys parents were mentally abusing her. that’s a lot of trauma for just a girl. Then the king literally stabs her in the back and she’s just 13 😬
Also no hate just saying my thoughts
I haven't watched this show but I'm still crying--
What dose it called?
@@nnsllx2632 the show is called amphibia.
@@mia_9926 thx and btw i LOVE ur pfp (;

Sorry for my English, im not a native speaker.
There is a Web with the name of Elmundodeanneysprig, you can watch Amphibia there. If you wonder about the name, it says The World Of Anne and Sprig, but its in Spanish for those who cant see the serie officially. Dont worry, it has the episodes with and without subtitles in English and Spanish.

I’ve been having the same problem. I’ve been wondering what this show is for a long time now.
I don't watch amphibia but i gotta say?
Marcy's VA nailed it in this scene.
Don't you dare correct me about anything I just said.
exactly! im impressed that you havent watched the show and still you managed to pinpoint exactly whats going on
She’s 13, but yeah lol
Dang haven’t even watched the show yet you already know a lot by just this one scene
@@cinniebun5464 That's because the scene is well written.
"Don't you dare correct me about anything I just said." Wow, now that's what I call toxic...
I haven't watch the show, but I'm a Marcy apologist now
Poor Sprig, him backing up just… wow
Right? Nobody is mention that part.
2 times they are the betrayals but one was only good and true free it would take to feed the greater evil free it will take to power the gems I will This end
The music always makes moments like this even sadder
Hearing Keith David say "spill the tea" was surreal.
It hits harder after you watch the entirety of s2 bc you get too know Marcy and most likely start too like her as a character and than true colors happens
She really just said: “You can’t do this to me.. I started this..”
Bruh i haven't even watched this show but now for some reason i really like her-
I guess i can relate to finally connecting with someone but then being forced to never see then again (and wouldn't you know, by parents, too!) So I'd like to go on a magic adventure as well.
I would miss my parents...but I'd still do it.
Wow "I gave you Sprig I gave you everything"
;-; still messed up tho
I love my friends that sometimes I also get that feeling that I wanna be selfish and be with them. That's how I feel but I don't know how they feel and I also hate how I can get so possessive of them. It's so understandable yet you can't justify it.
people calling Marcy psychotic is confusing me
Life: Gives Marcies Dad a new job out of state.
Marcy: Brings Herself and her friend to a new universe just at the fact for moving out of state.
Me: I think Marcy has some attachment issues.
Yes my friend
Sounds to me like her parents aren't very supportive and those friendships are all she has, look how scared she is of losing them
“ I spilled the t e a. “ -King Andrias.

0:34 the music worked so god damn well here.
So, Sasha is controlling and Marcy is selfish. I feel bad for Anne.
Well,Sasha is no longer selfish and controlling, she just needs more character development
Anne is just like Heather mcnamara, but in the first episodes we see she had the potential to be like Sasha
Don’t forget Anne, she was impressionable before all of this. Amphibia helped her.
@@hyena234thekids7 and Marcy is no longer alive-
@@treething8257 you didn see the season three trailer?
Everytime I watch this scene a year is deducted in my life span
That’s why I watch it over and over and over and over and etc
Is it weird that I don't think Marcy is a bad person? She did bad things, but I don't think she was ever a bad person.
She knew about the music box, but there's no way she could have known it would actually work. And it makes sense she'd want to stay. Why would she want to go back to where she just makes mistakes and is the weirdo and move away from her friends? Here, she's an awesome ranger/artificier, people respect her and she can do what she wants.
That’s not weird because she isn’t a bad person. She just made a REALLY bad mistake. She really messed up. But she’s not a bad person, just very impulsive.
That's mercy? The third girl in the trio?
Welp, I spoiled myself.
Ah yes it was mercy
the "i gave you everything" hit me bad. she is a 13-year-old, she didn't mean to do this all, she has genuine intentions. she didn't want to be separated from the only people she felt cared for her. she didn't want to be alone, she wanted them to stay, she wanted them. The way that they backed away from her... she never meant to hurt ANYONE, but in the end she hurt herself.
This episode was hard to watch when this scene came up. My heart hurt watching Marcy crumble down. She was one of my favorite characters too.
You can tell her mental state was slowly breaking.
I don’t watch this show but DAMN! As someone who’s had a rough breakup with friends I’ve known for 20+ years (since elementary school), this hits home.
You can really tell she tried to hold back the tears
That big ol frog king seems like a true villian
Ya this gotta be the best series I’ve ever seen
The road to hell is paved by good intentions
honestly, the kid was just scared to like leave their friends. when you grow too attached to someone, you start to fear about the time that will soon come, which will separate each one of your friends or stuff. they're still a kid.
Even after that I still love her and she’s still one of my favorite characters
You could hear the slight desperation of her voice in "I gave you everything!" just makes my heart crack
The signs were there with all her interests and hyperfixations
I feel like this scene really hit hard because up until this point, the only character development Marcy got was stuff that played into her "smart friend trope", making her seem pretty well adjusted considerng her quirks whereas Anne and Sasha started to realize who they were and wanted to be over the course of their screen time. This is where we learn that Marcy's issue is that she couldn't let go and is just as in need of a change in herself as Anne and Sasha were.
“I gave you everything!”
That sentence alone got me in the feels 😭
kinda unrelated but when he said: "that one of you might have gotten you stranded in amphibia on purbose"
the captions said: "that one of you might have gotten you stranded in amphibia on burbers"

correction; you sacrificed everything you had and could had just to be with your friends for a little bit longer.
Dang this is sadder then when Greg was turning into a edel tree
ive seen every season and episode and this hits hard when she said i just dont want to be alone it was sad
EXACTLY !! i feel so bad for her, shes my favorite character she didnt deserve any of this :(
I remember crying at this scene when you've got attachment issues this hits home its really hard to admit your the one wrong with attachment issues, you've always gotta justify why you did that messed thing you did, you practically ruin lives friendships and families just to keep that person close it doesn't work out your only hurting you and that person. Oop I went off topic anyways what I'm trying to say is I understand what she was going through this is the second character I relate to right before Spinel from the SU- ['Steven Universe' ] Franchise
I love marcy so much so true colors just DESTROYED me
"I GAVE YOU EVERYTHING" it makes me remember of my last relationship..
It's sad how much I relate to Marcy. I relate to Anne and Sasha as well but the way I relate to Marcy is different.

I think another one you would like could be gravity falls.
Marcy's just trying to keep their friendship together. But ended up destroying it
I never cry when watching movies and I certainly didn't expect to cry when marcy dropped the fucking bomb on anne and sasha...
The biggest tragedy in this video is the number of people saying they've never watched Amphibia before, and have now been spoiled about Season 2's most heart-wrenching twist right off the bat
I actually saw this before watching the show, gave it a couple months, actually started the show, and still got gut punched by this scene.
It's amazing what the power of hyperfixating on some other media can do against spoilers🤣
I hoped Marcy would be an actual ally, MAN
