What happens if you don't separate the ram from the cpu? I desoldered the cpu and the ram together. Is it really necessary to reball the ram? I thought it was necessary to reball the cpu only.

Hello! I have few practice board so I started to practice removing A9 CPU chips. I done 3 board but on two of the I have cracked the chip. The temperature was the same. Is it because of the thermal shock? Do I need to heat up the board first??
