- On Christmas Eve of 2023, it was not just Santa looking to make a delivery run, as freight was being moved across a few lines in and around Nashville, TN. As we journeyed back from a Christmas weekend in the Smokey Mountains, I arrived back home in time for a great evening of railfanning CSX freight trains in and around Nashville. Here is what I captured, and I hope that you enjoy this railfanning adventure.

My name is Danny B, and I have an enjoyment of railroads, their history, their present day status, watching trains, and I get to express that enjoyment through my n-scale model railroad and more specifically, building a larger model through the video game, Trainz 22.
I am also the owner of DannyBTalks on RUclips, a channel where I discuss things that I find interesting in the world of NASCAR racing, from its past, present, and future. Be sure to check out that channel if you are interested in racing too. / dannybtalks

Merry Christmas Danny🎄
I really like your narration style. This felt like one of Danny Harmon's (Distant Signal) videos. Congrats on 300 subs! Happy to see how the train channel is growing!
Hi Danny my name is Jim and I live in Portland and I sent you the first train in your video as a Christmas present. Just checked my video an d it's the same one except for the beautiful curve you got him in. Great job on that one. I've been at this since September but due to some health problems I'm a bit restricted for now. I got two today in Mitchellville and Portland, one north and south. Going to upload them tonight. I love CSX too, this old sub are the L&N tracks I grew up on. There's no place like your hometown railroad tracks. I hit that subscribe and like button for you and I'm going to check out some more. So Happy New Year to you. The CSX Ranger
Thanks, Jim! I agree. There’s nothing like the hometown rails. These rails are where I call home now, but I grew up in Norfolk Southern territory in Cumberland Gap. Those rails are now operated by RJ Corman, but I remember seeing Conrail locomotives too, along with YN2 CSX locals coming in as well, with an occasional re-routed manifest train as well. Way back in the day, those rails were owned by the Southern Railway too.
I don’t know where at in Tennessee you are but there is a M514 in Alabama with the Atlantic Coast Line heritage unit
Very nice. I'm near Nashville, in Hendersonville, where the first train catch was. I likely will miss that one though, as I won't be able to go until Saturday.
@@DannyBTrainz Well ya might get lucky and it might stick around until Saturday
