These cops blew the case ruined all the evidence back 50 years ago and it wasn't until DNA evidence came out and they still had to be pushed and pushed to reopen the case that they finally found the culprit. Not really. Have you been in a nursing home lately. There are a myriad of reasons why someone may be in a nursing home. Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis which usually comes on in midlife which a patient may need a wheelchair and has no accessible areas for it at their home. Strokes happen to many people in midlife, ALS is another chronic condition someone is in a nursing home. Maybe he was involved in a car crash and sustained broken bones or suffered a traumatic brain injury. He was formerly in the U.S. Army reserves, perhaps he was injured while serving his country and now requires 24 hour care. He may suffer from Diabetes and is incapable of caring for himself. Don’t think that just because he is in his 60’s that it’s inconceivable that he is in a nursing home. As we age we see many people who are the same age as we re and say to ourselves “wow, they are my he, how can that be?” Believe me friend it’s very common. Genes play a huge role as well. Enjoy the days you have, be thankful you have your health and tell your loved ones how much they mean to you. Have a good day my friend.

Yes, Diane Suzuki always comes to mind when cold cases are solved.. I was in elementary school when that happened.. My junior leader at summer fun looked similar to Diane, so when people would walk by they would do a double take... So sad that it's never been solved... 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Diane Suzuki went to my ballet school in Aiea. I still have a couple paper pamphlets, with her and I in it. She was in a older ballet class. I was in the beginner. It was so sad when she went missing.
What a tough job this woman has including the officers excellence in gathering the proper information, not cheap and many hours of trial and tribulation.

We don’t know that and we cannot judge. This is just an arrest not a conviction. He still has his rights to a fair trial. We’ll see what transpires and his possible conviction.

A person's DNA typically is collected only after you commit a crime and uploaded into CODIS. If a person has never been arrested, another way their DNA can match can be collected is through ancestry DNA testing firms.
Thousands of rape kits not tested also. Not a priority even though many rapists murder too. If men were rapes in the numbers women are, do you think they would be tested?
Well, I have to give the detectives and the police officers a little bit of credit for keeping the dna collecting the DN.A and keeping this case law by keep checking for the d.N.A
He's 66-67yrs old, he's been able to live out most of his life as a free man but will spend his last yrs in prison. Been a long time but justice will finally be served.

Men on average live to only 75ish years. From the sounds of it his body is already giving out. He got really lucky. Now he has to face the end, afraid of what comes after for someone who’s done the things he’s done. That’s scarier than prison if you ask me

Another cold case cracked. They also solved that murder of the lady in Waikiki/Ala Moana area that was linked to the guy they arrested in Nevada who was a retired assistant deputy prosecutor too.

Why did it take so long to solve this case when DNA Testing for crimes came out in 1986. That was 39 years ago.
They have to match DNA which takes a long time if in the data base then find the person
