Never knew the connection between Scrooge and Malton 👍 thanks for that ... wonderful footage of the Krampus run 👏👏👏 we weren’t able to make it so once again thanks for sharing 👍 ... ❤️👵🏼🐾🐾🤠
great video, funnily enough my dad who spent the last 25 years of his life living in Whitby, used to go and play Saint Nicholas every year at an Austrian restaurant alongside the owner's Krampus. He loved the fact that a Krampus run had started in his adopted home, but due to ailing health never took active part in it. I got to know the organisers of this festival on my many visits to my parents, they also do alot for the community raising monies for charities and the arts.
Great video. I wonder what the Synod of Whitby, back in 664 would have thuoght of Krampus. (witch probably) Amazing the history we haave in this area. Merry Christmas. 2x👍
I am ashamed to say I have never heard of this festival but it looks absolutely fantastic! Thank you for another excellent video. Wishing you a Merry Christmas.
Excellent and also enjoyed your walk along the long defunct. east coast railway line down to Whitby. Last time I heard of the name Krampus 'Inside No 9' Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton... 1977 Krampusnacht... not to everyones taste and gives an opposite view to everyones perception of the rosie cheeked benevolent wide of girth present bringer... Happy Christmas and well done for keeping the wonderful county of North Yorkshire on the map!
Excellent footage, especially of the Krampus festival. Whitby lad myself and also a former Malton resident, lit the spark to make me want to go to both events this year. Well done Andrew, enjoying these videos mate 👏🏻
The band playing in Malton Market is Charity Brass, a local ensemble that raises money exclusively for local charities. They are playing an arrangement of the carol ' We 3 Kings '.
Andrew thank you ever so much for paying us a visit in Whitby and capturing the event so well. Always great visual and informative work from you.... and you managed to get some awesome drone footage with the weather against you. Merry Krampus vom uns
We will be coming to Whitby in the Spring, but having just watched that video, will have to come next December too. That Krampus festival looks amazing and very atmospheric. Great video. Merry Christmas and good health for 2022.
I have sent this to my cousin in Austria where this celebration is the norm! Thanks for a really informative and interesting video. The Dickens connection to Malton was new to me as well!
My brithday is on Xmas day. So I send you best wishes for Christmas and a happy New yea to you and your family.. Love your videos. They cheer me up no end. Keep up the good work.🥳
Enjoyed all this year’s videos but this was extra special. Very merry Christmas to you and your family. Hopefully we all can get about next year and enjoy our country’s scenery.👍🎄
What an excellent way to end the year. Recently saw a video of Welsh traditions, also brilliant. Happy Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year to you and your family.
Wow that festival was amazing. Spooky on a dark night but still good. The walk round Malton was super. Reminded me of a lovely weekend my husband and I had there. The pub B and B was appalling ( had changed hands since we were last there!!) but the area super. Thank you so much for all your hard work and look forward to more next year. Happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year. 🎄🎄
So much in the North I didn't know existed and if I did their history alluded me.. Love the aerial shots. Absolutely great videos. Hopefully when I can travel to the UK again I will be able to visit many of the places you have filmed with a new insight. Merry Xmas. As an old Boro lad , UTB 🙂
All the best Andrew for christmas + new year you are a north Yorkshire star. Also did you know the east riding is the only county named in the bible = The three wise men came from the EAST RIDING camels bearing gifts .
Thanks for another great video Andrew. Is that the Sutton Bank? Looks a lot different from the air. Have spent many happy holidays in North Yorkshire. Happy Christmas to you and your family.
That's the Hole of Horcombe. It's a relic of the ice age when the glacier gouged it out of the earth and further down the soil is dropped on the Vale of York creating the rich farm land there. It's used by hang gliders nowadays and from the ground level looks very deep. The hill and sharp corner as you pass has a speed limit of 20 I think as it looks like the road disappears as you move along it.
Cheers Stephen. It’s Saltergate Bank on the Pickering to Whitby road. To the left of the first drone shot is the Hole of Horcum (created by a giant during an argument with his wife, in local folklore!). Merry Christmas!
@@NorthYorkshireWanderer Thanks Andrew. I think I must have been along that road on my travels. You live in a most beautiful part of the country and we always love being there. Keep up the brilliant videos. All the best to you.
Sorry but no disrespect you guys actually live that close to one another oh my God how do you not kill one another I must be blessed I live out the West in Utah at the United States of America I cannot imagine living so close to one another first of all second of all I love the Welsh accent now let me shut my mouth and you can continue on with your recording be well happy Christmas if that's what you do we will all my love to you and yours

Usually the first Saturday in December.
sounds very similar to the Dutch "Zwarte Piet"

How the hell did you get permission to fly so close to RAF Fylingdales?
I'll give that Krampus a big miss
