    I like the warnings/graphics on pump lids and filters. No one needs a magnum 1500 lid slicing through the air.

    Hi Steve,
    Your videos are meaning the world to me these days! I’m getting closer to have a swimming pool and jacuzzi built by a contractor and I have no words to thank the high and accurate knowledge you are sharing through your RUclips channel!
    I’m sure you’re an engineer, perhaps master o doctor on some are of the knowledge… even if you were not, man… I can tell you you know and understand the physics, chemistry, electricity, measuring equipment, etc… way better than anybody else I have met and seen in You Tube.
    I’m so thankful for your willingness to share!

    Steve, thanks for everything. You helped me do a complete in-ground pool renovation and tweak a ridiculously fine pool pad with all your favorite stuff....huge schedule 40 lines, anodes, water-bond, heater bypass, check valves, sweeps, proper lengths, 45's.....everything you mention. You are very knowledgeable as well as entertaining. In fact, you are so entertaining that my sister watches you and she doesn't even have a pool. Cheers, brother.

    Pool skimmers too, there is also suction entrapment cases from skimmers being played with, skimmers can disembowel you too since they also use suction

    I am still wary/ scared of drains, skimmers and any other pool suction points. I never swim them and friend think I’m silly. I always remember my swimming girls with long hair wear it up in a bun or put a hat due entrapment risk for skimmer though lower the floor drain its still there.

  • @louisd95714

    Hi Steve, I closed my swimming pool a few weeks back. This past summer was the first season I did not see one speck of algae in my pool. There were very hot days, but I made sure to keep the alkalinity and PH at the desired levels, and added shock on when it rained a lot. Which brings me to my question. This was also the first season that my test strips read a high amount of total chlorine. Which most probably translates to a high level of chloramines, which is bad. One thing I didn't do is to try a different set of test strips. Aside if the test strips were bad, can you suggest why the total chlorine was so high? Next pool season I am tempted to empty out a good portion of the water and start fresh. But if you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

    • @JayCrash450
      @JayCrash450 Год назад

      I’m obviously not Steve who is insanely knowledgeable about pools. But I will say this. If you are self caring for your pool, ditch the strips and learn how to use a proper fas/dpd test kit like the Taylor k-2006 kit. They are not hard to learn and will allow you to understand everything you need to know about your water.
      Learning how to use a kit properly will tell you how much free chlorine you have, among many other things. Ultimately answering the question you posted above. Because simply dumping in “chlorine” and then dipping a strip that just seems to indicate there is a bunch of “chlorine” or chloramines (combined chlorine) will never tell you the truth of what your chemical additions ultimately did to your water.

    What do you mean by "avoid"...I'm trying to picture what is happening here. People putting their faces on them, their tongues? Getting their hair close? What are we talking about here, very vague comments.

    • @Swimmingpoolsteve

      Sitting on them. You avoid this by knowing suction drains can be dangerous so you don't decide to put your ass on one out of the blue one day.
