What a wonderful rendition of this song. I am a big fan of Devendra Banhart. I really like how he adds such a simplicity to the song, makes it really easy listening.
That was the most incredibly motivating imagery that I've seen in a long time. I don't know if that video was created by Devendra, but it fits perfectly to his take on the song.
i find it humorous how many people claim to love music yet actually get hateful when they hear something slightly unorthodox than what they've been used to their whole lives. amazing cover of an amazing song.
Devendra is, as usual, excellent in his role of interpretation of the music. If you are looking for the exact original music in a cover, don't listen to this version. It's a completly new one. 5 stars, no doubt !
let the shining depression we all excuse from the tables weve broken with our anger and our inpenitrable distaste for cover songs take a bow its time we change the world
Wow: Very cool how this song is covered by Devendra: I love this vibration of intimacy he transports always by his musical art-creations! Goes under the skin directly into the heart....
I don`t get it - what can one NOT like about that?! I love devendras style since 2000 - and that won`t ever change. How come some people get sooo aggressive here? This is about love! Chill, guys! :-)
i like it...the vocals are a little odd but i love how he incorporated the guitar solo from champagne supernova in the beginning. i give him props for putting his own spin on it.
I'm starting to think I prefer this version to the original one... It's far more original and I'm really keen on Devendra Banhart's voice. Andy Cahill is a genius, the video suits so well to the song!
Slip inside the eyes of your mind Don't you know you might find a better place to play But you'd said that you'd never been But all the things that you'd seen will slowly fade away We'll just start a revolution from my bed Cause you said the brains I had went to my head So step outside summertime's in bloom And stand up beside the fireplace, take that look from off your face
This version goes so well with they lyrics. The lyrics are kind of insane anyway. Absolutely excellent! Oasis just did their normal old boring number with those lyrics.
I disagree- The beauty of the video as well as the song was that he put his own soul and style into it. Not detracting from the song, but showing you a different side to it. Plus if you watch it more then once it really grows on you..
was it supposed to be to my post that asked what separates oasis from most other pop bands? i got an e-mail that said tropo123 responded to me so i don't know....
The animation fits the music I reckon. Its kinda weird and hard to get into at first but when you do its great in its wonderfull weird way. That's how I see it anyway!
Hey Andy great job. I love the pan ups from the bed. It is a good element keep in touch. This is Harrison by the way. do you have an email or something?
As you know its an Oasis song and Oasis doesnt ripp off but pay homage to John Lennon who is Noel Gallaghers biggest idol togheter with Burt Bacharach. Its just the beginning piano notes from Imagine. And they admit to the fact that hes one of their influences and consciously use it.
whoa the video is just so fuckin' great, lloove the look. this should also win the award for most brutal disgusting cover of an amazing song ever. seriously this is such a massacre I'm visibly sick by it
it's not a cover, but an interpretation. a quite good one too ... i mean if i want to hear like the 1000000. cover of DLBIA i just grab the guitar and do it myself :)
Devendra's not for everyone. If you can deal with a demolition of what you know and love, then this cover's pretty decent. I've heard plenty worse open mic folks who try to emulate the original, so a weirdo spinning his own version's refreshing.
Fantastic cover! People need to realize that good covers do new things with songs...even if it means completely changing the song around. I can't stand bands that cover a song and play it the exact same way. That's like movie adaptations that are exact copies of the book....boring!
i'm not trying to be different here... but i like this song a lot more than original, and it has more meaning to me. i feel like when i hear him sing it the lyrics means something, but honestly, the gallaghers are so full of it that i can't buy into any sort of "revolution" coming from them.
The whole point of a cover is reinterpreting a song in your own musical style. Devendra is Devendra and Oasis is Oasis, if you don't like then it don't listen to it.
Although I agree to some extent, he actually uses the same chord pattern to a large degree here, just a different melody to the singing, and ofcourse an unconventional way of 'presenting' the chords
Now, this is how you do a cover song. Different while keeping it familiar.
that voice is pure magic!
I'm in heaven now...

its the best cover made of this song
im a big oasis fan and i must say that this songs adds something different to the tune.
i like it.....

Amazing video great animation and symbolism in the story and the music is great cause the devendra gives it his own style.
What a cover.. I love Oasis version and I love too this one, great.
Love this. A perfect blend of musical art with visual. Bootiful. My dream poker table would be Devendra, Dylan, Chris Robinson and me.
You took the words out of my mouth.
He did an excellent interpretation of a beautiful song.
yes! the result is so unique and lovely!! i love it!!
i like this cover a lot. devendra rules mucho
This man is a genius !! That's the best way to sing this song...

hope he comes out with a cover album!
what a great song and a vid for it!
This is amazing.
both of the versions of this song are good. the video is excellent.
Wow: Very cool how this song is covered by Devendra: I love this vibration of intimacy he transports always by his musical art-creations! Goes under the skin directly into the heart....
i really like this song, and the video is amazing

this animation is amazing!
such AWESOME cover! impressive!!!
the cover fits the video perfectly... and everyone knocking the cover just clearly hasn't been exposed to devendra at all
This was beautiful, it made me like the song.
i just don't see why oasis gets so much recognition. to me they just sound like another everyday pop band. what did they do that made them so great?
I'm starting to think I prefer this version to the original one... It's far more original and I'm really keen on Devendra Banhart's voice.
Andy Cahill is a genius, the video suits so well to the song!
really great work
i like it
exceptional

amazing short film!
thanks for uploading it :)
THIS IS THE cutest video everrrr!! :D
Bloody brilliant
They do sound like an everyday pop band, but a very good every day pop band... I'm in 2 minds about them, but they have some fantastic songs
wonderful cover!
devendra threw in his own verse at the end, excellent cover.
That's an awesome cover!
Devendra Banhart is a very good singer and this cover of the song is great...!!! 5* :D
This version goes so well with they lyrics. The lyrics are kind of insane anyway. Absolutely excellent! Oasis just did their normal old boring number with those lyrics.
This man is Number 1 Kazakhstan best export!
Devendra Banhart is great.
vivio en venezuela...
You are all mad, I find it beautiful!
very good
you're sooo right
sounds like the intro is played on the same piano john lennon played on imagine
Yes
es un irónico guiño
Is there a live performance of this by devendra ?
great
I disagree- The beauty of the video as well as the song was that he put his own soul and style into it. Not detracting from the song, but showing you a different side to it. Plus if you watch it more then once it really grows on you..
the result, i should add, is quite lovely.
i love it =]
was it supposed to be to my post that asked what separates oasis from most other pop bands? i got an e-mail that said tropo123 responded to me so i don't know....
Can somebody tell me a web site where I can find Devendra's tabs?
WOW
The animation fits the music I reckon. Its kinda weird and hard to get into at first but when you do its great in its wonderfull weird way. That's how I see it anyway!
nice
I agree
this guy is fuckin sweet i love him
Hey Andy great job. I love the pan ups from the bed. It is a good element keep in touch. This is Harrison by the way. do you have an email or something?
anyone know where i can get a tab
eu quero desviar meus pensamentos
genius
obviously it's meant to be like this. he could have sung with the original melody and rythm, but banhart reinterpreted the song his own special way.
IMAGINE THERE'S NO... OOOPS WRONG SONG
lol.
섹시한당신
I like to much
devendra's pretty great
whoa the video is just so fuckin' great, lloove the look.
this should also win the award for most brutal disgusting cover of an amazing song ever. seriously this is such a massacre I'm visibly sick by it
Awsome!!!!! Debendra took a terrible song and made it become so nice
Devendra gave us primary colours to paint the cities! Enjoy your imagination.
can't say much about oasis really.i'm kinda neutral about them.this however is wonderful.great happy feel to it.check out his other stuff,it's amazing
@HuyerPercussive it does. Pay attention and you'll see the message.
Really only a deep person would understand something like this.
I love banhart but the way he projected his voice in this, very wonderful, song makes me sad.
this version is sweeet
This is entirely exquisite... all though I think he is putting on a portugese accent...
Cs & Gs my dear friend.
Reason, Noel loves John.
Fair enough, I can respect that Franklin...
i love his voice :) its slightly weird but i love weird :D
dead on
it's not a cover, but an interpretation. a quite good one too ... i mean if i want to hear like the 1000000. cover of DLBIA i just grab the guitar and do it myself :)
i've noticed that most people who never tried acid dont really like devendra
So does Liam
Devendra's not for everyone. If you can deal with a demolition of what you know and love, then this cover's pretty decent. I've heard plenty worse open mic folks who try to emulate the original, so a weirdo spinning his own version's refreshing.

"Devendra is Devendra " wo wo wooooah amazing preposition
Although I agree to some extent, he actually uses the same chord pattern to a large degree here, just a different melody to the singing, and ofcourse an unconventional way of 'presenting' the chords
...woops
