Big Lake Park is now even bigger! 😊 I live in Omaha. Last week I visited the Luminarium on the riverfront, and saw the red sculpture across the river inundated. Why oh why did the city of Council Blluffs build so much in the FLOOD PLAIN of the river?! 🤦♀️ It floods regularly. Often. I feel sorry for the people who live in the apartment complexes just east of the dyke on the Iowa side, just north of the Bob Kerrey pedestrian bridge. You couldn’t pay me enough to live there.
I'm always interested in rhe situation at the Fort Calhoun and Cooper nuclear power plants when there is flooding. Getting very little from local news sources.
@@WorldStreetOmaha Yes, but they are still storing waste, some at ground level. They weren't operating during the 2011 flood and they had short term equipment failures. And thanks for the video, I appreciate the updates.
For this specific case with a mini drone, I was required to stay on the east side of I-29 with a strict height limit of approximately 300 feet. We flew considerably lower than that limit.

I had a detour on 6/29 going N. On the return trip S on 7/6 one lane was opened back up. Crazy stuff.
Iowa, south Dakota, and Minnesota say you're welcome.

Regarding the Fort Calhoun plant, I think that it was shutdown in 2016.

Thanks. I didn't know that they were still storing waste at ground level. Hope to hear from you again soon.
Last week we where told the Mississippi River is drying up
doesn't the Missouri flow into along with the flooded rivers in
the central U S
The Missouri River joins the Mississippi River near the city of St. Louis in Missouri.
How is the Mississippi River drying up
Wow! Bummer.
Its not as bad as the last one
Yet
Wow that looks mess
Don't suppose you flew over Freedom Park? I'd be interested in seeing that.
We didn't make it to Freedom Park. That would have been interesting.
Was your drone flight legally outside the five mile airport traffic area around epply airfield ??

Lobster in his fancy new personal stovetop water tank:
“Water temperatures have ALWAYS fluctuated. This is kinda nice.”
Looks like Iowa and Nebraska have no clue about Flood Control.
We the people do, GOP state government is clueless. Don’t build in flood plains or raise the roads.
Every state that borders the Mississippi or Missouri deals with flooding at least once every decade.
