I have that presser foot, but I didn't know that it was helpful for this. I just thought it was an edge guide foot. Hopefully I remember next time I sew an overcast stitch 😅 You are such a good instructor! You speak so clearly and your diction is so crisp and beautiful.
I’ve never seen that elastic thread. Thank you for showing this. I have seen a thin elastic cord which I zigzag across, but it couldn’t be used in a bobbin.
Particular thanks for the tip about bypassing the needle bar thread guide with one thread when using a twin needle. I've just tried it on a scrap, and it worked nicely. It's much easier than what I might otherwise have tried: buying some S-twist thread for one needle while keeping Z-twist thread in the other needle.
When using a twin needle, I always have to use some kind of wash away stabilizer, and you have to make sure to catch the hem fabric on the back with both needles or the fabric will tunnel on the top.
Twin needles hint here! I used to struggle with sewing with twin needles, did all the things you mentioned in the video but nothing worked. The twin needles kept skipping stitches. Then I switched from Prym twin needles to other brand, might have been Organ, and the problems vanished, just like that. Later I saw that others had the same issue with Prym's twin needles, hmm... so yeah, switch the needle brand if nothing helps!
Julija, you give us wonderful information clearly presented with samples. I love your videos!

That last one, combining thread types and mixed stitches, is my favorite. I love the ingenuity.

Glad it was helpful!🤗
Thank you for these wonderful tips.
Thank you for those techniques. I will try them in my upcoming projects.

A bit off topic - which machine is your favorite for sewing garments - woven and knits??
Thank you
I want to get some elastic thread. How do we put it on the bottom spool??
For the elastic sewing thread, I wind it on sewing machine, like a regular sewing thread🤗
You also need to think about the width of your stitch plate when sewing with twin needles.
Great point!
