Passengers also no longer have infinite patience. They'll make different arrangements if they don't reach the destination within 4 hours after boarding the train.
Nice to see your new posts on Railroader. I’ve been playing the Beta version and really like the AE Waypoint command. It has definitely been a convenient timesaver when operating the two yards at Sylva and Andrew’s. Once I get my trains set up from each yard heading East and West it’s been a huge plus being able to set-up switching operations in the yards along the railroad. I think I can add more industries now. 👍👍
the waypoint AI is SO good to have, and think in the notes it says you can do meets via CTC signals so guess theres now a reason to use that in singleplayer.
Interesting update. Guess it coincides me having a few drinks last night and "checking out different idea" on a new start that got saved over my old game. Sigh
Would be neat if when crossings loaded cars were there. I know there’s the one pickup at barkers but I’d like to see 1-3 cars either side of the crossing. May be harder to add but actually seeing cars drive up to crosses would be cool, maybe add a chance that if you don’t whistle for the crossing there’s a car on the tracks.
The waypoint AI is absolutely fantastic. Its a game changer. However, they really work on the world, an empty line, an empty world, empty depots, empty industries. If they want to work on other things, open the game up to official modding, let people create the world for them, or even create their own maps.
Not gonna lie, I thought the core game was fine before the last couple of updates. The bug fixes are appreciated, but the "features" were not particularly needed. Not quite like the unfinished overall look of the base game, that really needs to be improved on. Empty towns, empty industries, no life along the route, and no vegetation. It gets boring really fast without something to see.
I don't think the new stuff in the this update is bad, but yeah...when I read "stations buildings" I was expeting a bit more than just one new little house at either location
Don't get me wrong, Derail Valley was for years in this naked map state and they focused totally on functions. So is with this game. I'm glad that there is a solo (!) Dev who actually focuses on features and not on eye candy. Side eye to Railroads Online.
NO! BOOOOOOOOOOO! Let me name my locomotives, dangit! I have two C46s! One named Susquehanna Belle, and the other Lackawanna Belle. It's totally dumb and does not affect the gameplay at all...but I've grown so attached to them that way!
from what I was told, Railloader stuff, specifically tender swaps, are fine. stuff like map mods, are not. stuff installed with Unity Mod Manager, though, actually breaks the game, so much so one person could not even launch it without crashing upon startup. kind of ironic how 'some guy's pet project that's probably stealing your credit card data' still works whereas the big, official mod loader that nearly everyone uses for nearly every game, broke. if I'm honest I'd only use the advanced AI if I could give it a set of commands and it would automatically perform tasks such as (un)couple cars, set switches, move from A to B, take specific cars to specific locations, pretty much Trainz level of AI y'know? the current system as it is Ican see two uses for: passenger trains and serving the industries in Alarka
The 2 things I did not like about this game... 1st is the biggest one, I gotta pay to maintain cars that I did not own, so if the oil company was getting a tanker I would have to pay for that up keep.... Heck no I do not see BNSF paying to keep up say Ford's car hauler as that is Ford's property.... The other thing I did not like that is not such a big deal was I could not put in switches or add more track. I get it they still are working on the map so they do not want us messing with the base map, but still would be nice to have more spots to change from one track to another..
I’m disappointed in their priorities. Textures on steam engines are nice and all but work on the world. The scenery along this line needs a serious revamp. Randomized weather also seems like such an obvious and easy thing to implement, it’s crazy it’s not done yet. I’m not a fan of taking away the time scaling either. In the early game there just is t that much to do to fill a 1:1 day. I also fiddle with it once in awhile to be able to see the sunset and run a few trains at night.
I really wish people would stop pushing this anti-Railloader agenda. There's nothing wrong with it. Ironically it works better than the "official" mod loader. Honestly makes me annoyed that people even use UMM. It's trash but everybody just accepts it. 😑

I would have checked Sley Mica and Schist! Because those gondolas are "empty" even when full, visually!
All mods that require StrangeCustoms are currently not running with the new update.
Don't worry. I'm sure the creators are working on it now

The river banks make the river still look more a canal than a river. But this you can in TS 20XX as well as in TSW..
I like the updates but what I would like to see is more updates on the rolling stock especially for the reporting marks in railroad logos
still waiting for ability to repaint the steam engines, nameplates would be nice to have as well.
Great vid, think I ain't touching this game though until they sort out the graphic tampering tbh. Might be wooed though if they add a new map.
