Thanks for the shoutout! I’ll do an update video when I get back from the US in about a month and a half about how much I earned vs spent... but from where I’m at now I’ve certainly saved a bit but I’m definitely not breaking even by a long shot.

If you can break even I think you're doing well. It should be done for the experience not for growing your bank account.

And that’s totally why I’m doing it - there is no way I’m going to break even ahah - I just thought it was interesting to know much I am spending and as a college student it never hurts to try and save some money ahah

Brooke, the only way you would know if you made any money working for Disney is to post how much you made while working there. I assume on a 40 hour workweek that you made more than your costs, and I can certainly understand why you wouldn’t want to post that information. But it is pertinent to the discussion.

the money I made while there, yes equaled more than the 3000, however, those costs went to housing and food and such so it isn't really taken into account in the thought of breaking even.

Wow Brooke to be in the Disney program is expensive, I know that Disney never pays there employees fairly and it’s a shame. My cousin in law works for Disney Land and he started just like you but now he works in a office above Main Street. I don’t know exactly what he does but it’s way more pay then when he was a Pluto. He hooked my wife and I up with free hopper passes for the whole day last time we visited family in California.
So if you had a choice would you live in the US or Canada?
Great video I always learn something from you , can’t wait to see what videos you have coming up. ❤️🌹take care

I heard about Disneys min wage being $15, but I also heard college program workers earn like $11... is it true?

I know full timers make more than CP’s - I don’t know the exact amount. But yeah CPs make 11

Conestoga College! I graduated from there back in the day. Kitchener girl through and through!
Question for you: is there a typical age for the CEP? I’ve been dreaming about it for years and years but now I’m worried it’s all 21 year olds and I’d be the old granny in my late twenties.

to participate in the CEP there is no age limit however you must be enrolled in college/university - however just be aware 95% of participants are 18-25ish

I know this video is more about the costs incurred because of the program but in regard to the original question of did I break even? one thing you have to take into account is the amount of money saved on park entrance fees on your time off. From your blogs I get the impression you spent every full day off in the parks but what about days where you had half a day off or a spare couple of hours did you spend them in the parks too? because if you did then that's a days entrance fee saved because you are on the CEP so in effect probably out of the three months you were there you realistically probably got somewhere around the equivalent of four 21 day Disney passes for free :-)

I don’t count that cost because that is something I didn’t have to pay for, it’s not really “saving” money in anyway. If it wasn’t a perk of working for Disney I probably wouldn’t have done the program for a second time. Additionally if I didn’t go I wouldn’t have incurred that many park pass ticket. The concept of park tickets really shouldn’t be considered in this cost. No different than how I don’t include weekly housing costs or maintenance for my car.
