    Thank you. I'm new to owning a salt water hot tub and I'm watching your videos now. I found out about you through a group on Facebook. We purchased a Hot Spring Grandee. It was delivered a few days ago. I also purchased the on the go water softener and so far all of our test strips look good from day one. The installer told us we were the first customer they ever met who had the on the go instead of using the vanishing act.

      It will make all the difference in the world. I give every single one of my salt customers an on the go!

    We have a hose spigot that uses our soft water. When we first got our tub we had our hard and soft water tested. We were told to use our soft water to fill the tub with, so I think people should remember that also. If you have soft water, maybe install a valve so you can fill your tub with soft water from your house. After all, it is a salt water tub, which is basically soft water.

      You bet make sure you test the water once it is full. 300 gallons will test very differently then the pint you take a sample from. But this is a great idea !

    I have a 365 gallon salt water hot tub. I’m about ready to set a bomb off in it!! I’ve had it for 2 years and it is a battle every time I change the water. Yes you do have to change the water every 4-6 months. Not once every year. Also I have to prime my “on the go” tank twice! Once before I start and then again in the middle of filling the tub. It’s to keep my hard water at the correct hardness. I just did a water change and the hardness of my water has gotten harder since I filled the tub and now I have white flakes and a nasty residue on the side of my tub. I’m assuming that I need to go get a vanishing act pillow and try that. If not, then I know I have to drain the tub a little bit and start over which really makes me mad. Ugh. I really am starting to hate my salt water hot tub. Mountain Hot Tub is where we bought the tub from. Everyone in there tells you something different. The salesman has forgotten who we are now that he’s made his sell. I’m frustrated!

      Thats frustrating. I would recomend once you get it full that you get some Natural Chemistry Phosphate Free Scale Contorl.amzn.to/3tfx5Qi. I would also recommend once you have it full (probalby recharge the on-the-go one more time) and then cycle the water through the softener with a submersible pump for 24 to 36 hours. suck the water from the hot tub to the on the go, run it through the softener and then back into the water.

    I called Artesian spas and asked if I could use a salt water generator. He said absolutely not I'd have to replace all the stainless steel parts - jets, lines, heater, to titanium. Does that sound right? He also recommended instead a silver mineral cartridge called Nature2, have you ever used that?

      @TheHotTubLady  2 года назад +1

      He is a bit extreme but yes I would agree with him. Artesian spas should not be salt water they need some upgrades. I use Nature 2 all the time, It is a silver mineral cartridge that cuts down on your sanitizer…. I really like the Frog @ease system that uses that technology as well

    I have an Aria and have been betting high salt readings on the display. I changed the salt cartridge on May currently have the salt level a
    Set to 1. Also I’m not getting a chlorine reading. My water is crystal clear

    • @TheHotTubLady

      So the level is how much chlorine you are making not how much salt is in the water. High salt reading on the tub is 99% needing a new cartridge. What is the reading on the salt test strip? Not the hot tub? If higher then 1750 probably need to do a partial drain

    Thanks for your videos. We have a Caldera salt water spa that we bought 3 months ago. The salt is always registering high. I have drained several inches out of the tub on two different occasions and refilled with soft water from our house. Immediately after refilling it, the salt level is in the good range. Then, over time it creeps up to the high range. I’ve never added salt to the tub (though they did when they set it up). Any suggestions?

      Is it just high on the scale or the dial or is it high on the test strip. The scale on the hot tub is also measuring the connectivity of your salt cell. So if you are not throwing an error alll is good. Trust your salt level by the test strip not the scale on the hot tub

      Thanks for the reply. It isn’t throwing an error on the hot tub yet (though it has in the past at which point I drained about 8” of water and refilled). It’s right on the edge of being in the red. It’s also high with the test strip. It just seems like it continuously goes up.

      Make sure you do not overdose the salt and keep the hardness below 75 ppm

    Hi, I just replaced my salt water cartridge. It Hasn't been but one month, and it's telling me my salt is high. It's been perfectly balanced, and we did our refill on October 31. I didn't add all the salt purposely to prevent this. Any suggestions? Salt strips show 2000. So its high...why?

      What hot tub do you have how much salt do you start with

    Luckily my tap water has 7.1 PH, 40ppm alkalinity , and 65ppm calciun hardness. I add a little ph up to get my Alkalinity up to 60ppm and PH to 7 5. Unfortunately, my phosphates are over 1000 ppb! I get it down to zero and clean my filters. I rarely shock with dichlor..only when absolutely necessary to keep my cya low. I get 6-7 months out of each salt cartridge and change my water once a year. Water is always crystal clear. I purge with Ahhsome and add enzymes once in awhile.
