Mike Sowder whoa dude. I was just asking because a lot of places have universal health care. We don’t. I don’t have insurance. I had cancer and wasn’t able to work and because of choices of the government (including my state), I had to pay almost everything out of pocket. If he’s homeless and has been for a long time, there’s a lot he doesn’t quality for. Especially if he didn’t work for a long time.

I had a broken ankle that needed surgery and that was the highest I’ve ever went, 9. 10 to me is your in so much pain you can’t do anything.
Hell...I just had knee-replacement surgery and that was just an 8 when I accidentally ran out of pain meds.

Chillin with Dylan haha, it depends on the day. I’m kind of joking but at the same time, it’s a serious point. I’m just not trying to be one of those people who get so upset about something they riot about it when it’s not going to make anything better. Personally, I think the EMS guys should be allowed to deny care since they are technically allowed to force someone into care if they think they are not thinking straight. It’s obviously this guy was broke after his last court case and was trying to get paid again. It’s pretty annoying. They should be allowed to be like, “no dude. This is for EMERGENCIES, and I don’t think you’re going to die any time soon unfortunately.” It’s the same with people calling 911 because they don’t want to behave like adults.

let me teach you something about EMS work #1 EVERY call is treated like a real problem by EMS until the hospital gets the patient #2 You cant always tell if there's something bigger going on other than what his complaint is

@@bayarea4153 I cant speak for California but I know for sure thats how it works in oregon for people on state insurance. They don't pay a dime out of pocket for any medical expense, including BS ambulance rides/ER visits. It gets abused. Why pay for an uber and wait an hour at urgent care for your 7 day old foot pain when you can call 911 and get a room immediately

Look the guy in the ambulance did his job correctly, he made the man feel comfortable and in good hands on his way to the hospital. It is not EMS’s job to determine if a person is wrong or right, there job is to treat the patient as quickly and safely as possible. The driver did his job incorrectly, he showed emotion. Yes I think 3 times in one day is excessive but it is not their job to judge that, they have one job, and that is to save lives.

Seems like he’s fine. Just wants meds or something. Hands down the worst pain I’ve felt was when I had my appendix removed and gallbladder. I’ve had two csections as well but it wasn’t nearly as painful as appendix and Gbladder. They should give the guy placebos lol

Say what you want about him faking pain for meds, this is why I want to be a firefighter or paramedic. The sheer character of the medic and the patient is funny enough, but also stuff like the opening, "If you were to name an energy drink for the Sacramento Fire Dept. what would it be?" Just makes you feel and see how the guys are such tight friends and brothers

Lol. What a drama queen. Completely oriented, no bleeding, no sign of trauma whatsoever or any hint that this man is in pain. Claims he feels WORSE than a 10/10. If that is the worst pain he's ever had in his life, I'd say he's the luckiest man alive.

I had my chest cut open from chest to waist, with no medicine. That was a 10. this guy is abusing the system to get free medicine.

how ironic about the public transit situation for the guy. on nov. 23rd I fell on the bus. headaches finally gone. went to ER sunday they did Ct scan but everything was fine thankfully. not trying to get compensation from Metro but it is possible the driver was driving unsafely. 99.9 per cent of the time I wait until the bus stops before exiting at my stop. this was the time where I decided at last minute to get off but I was barely 30 seconds away from the stop anyhow and others were getting off too. the bus lurched and I fell on my back but was able to stand within 2 seconds or so.

As a healthcare worker, that 1-10 scale can be a pain. I know it’s subjective, but when it reaches 10, it’s pretty objective. You’re literally keeled over wishing you were dead at 10, but this man is chillin’ like a villain talking about his pain is 10. C’mon now. Pts can be so extra when it comes to that scale.

100% lying about the pain. If you're a 10/10 on the pain scale, genuinely a 10, that usually means you're screaming. Not sitting super-chill and having a casual, relaxed conversation. Also (I'm a nurse) patients in actual very severe pain RARELY ever say 10, they almost always say like 8.5 or 9
