Thank you, sir, very clear explanation, I've noticed the palm position of some people playing side is the same as normal, just move the cue left/right by using the palm as a pivot, some of them are moving the whole palm to left/right (parallel with the normal shot), could you please explain what is the difference between these palm position?
I noticed that while hitting these shots you bring your right arm outwards away from your body like sort of deflecting the cue ( for ex. @ 6:33 ) . Is it your technique or is it something necessary? Please enlighten im sort of confused here. Greetings from Dehradun, India
I have been playing snooker for over 30 years and gotten decent at it. I've never had a lesson and these videos of yours have really been helpful! Aiming to get a hundred brake one day 👊 Greetings from Hämeenlinna Finland! 🧑🎄 -Vesa
I have tried your advices and tips , and it helps a lot ,thank you for your efforts 👍👍 If only your videos quality could become a bit better. Have a nice day from Austria
Thanks for sharing this video. It helps me to understand more about playing side. I would love to see another video to provide more details about aiming of the object ball with respect to the target (pocket). There is a video from Stephen Henry about targeting the jaws of the pocket when playing side. But there is not much detail about how exactly to achieve that. For example, foot position and body alignment. Keep up the good work.
I don't play snooker I play pool, as an ameture and for fun... But thanks for this, it's really difficult to learn this sort of thing and I'm struggling with it a bit still, this has fixed something I was doing wrong.
Thank you for this informative video. It’s something I’ve always struggled with, and this explained it very precisely in an easily understood and applicable way. Cheers buddy.
Hello marley from new zealand. Just started watching your channel and playing snooker, going to put in to practice what yourteaching thanks for your help. Your a great player.
Hey mate, quick question none of the coaches seem to address when talking about side. What are your eyes doing? When you address a shot with side is the tip of your cue still in the center of your vision? Or is the center of the cue ball in the center of your vision? If it's the cue ball, is your cue parallel to the center line you are looking down? I'd urge you to approach a shot with this in mind to make sure. When I started thinking about this and tested it I assumed my tip would be centered but I was surprised to learn that I have the cue ball in the center of my vision with my cue slightly off parallel. I'm very curious to know if other players approach it like this, whether both ways are acceptable or if I'm dead wrong and have been doing it wrong for the last 20 years.
It would be great if you could make a video how much of a difference titanium ferrule makes. There are some videos on internet where Kyren Wilson shows that the TI ferrule eliminates virtually all deflection, making use of sidespin much easier. Couple of other pros such as Higgins or Mark Allen are also using TI ferrules.
@@Chris-bm5qd you don’t need to buy a new cue, just the ferrule. And yes, it can improve your game if it reduces deflection when using side. One less variable to think about.
Great Video, especially the second part! Therefore I really would enjoy some videos about common shots or various situations which come across in a game of snooker all the time and, most important, how to play it to get on the next colour or the next red. How often I use the wrong spin and/or speed and end up in a horrible position! Thanks and greeting from Dresden, Germany!
Hi Any advice on yips ? Been suffering from it for about 15 years . Has totally wrecked my game . Also I think I lot of people suffer from them but never heard anyone try and fix the problem for anyone .
When I try to hit on the side. My cue stick moves away pushing the cue ball rolling the other side of the cue. Sometimes my cue does multiple touches on the cue ball. How can I solve this?
My problem is that I’ll use side to get out of a snooker or to pot a ball near the cushion, and then I’ll miss the easiest of plain ball shots. I can pull off some really good shots, and then miss straight ones next ball
Рассмотрены основные нюансы с упором на индивидуальность... Отличные рекомендации...

These are the things you will only learn by playing everyday.
True indeed. No matter how much theory and good tips I learn from these lessons, only the daily practice is what really makes the difference.
Exactlyy broo
Im agree with that, doesnt matter how much theory we learn we need to practise daily to make it happen.

Go buy a new cue. I'm sure it will improve your game significantly.😆

What’s your thoughts on titanium ferrule.. I find it makes all these shots a lot more easier
Thanks mate👍🎱🇳🇿
Essentially if you are using left spin you need to aim more to the left because the white ball shoots off to the right?

If the cue ball moves the colored balls in a non-foul, do I need to move them back to their positions every time or after I get a point or something?
Excellent vid! You seem to encourage side spin shots by cueing across the ball…? Is this accidental or deliberate?
