Something to take into consideration is the awkward transition of the shadows. You could mask the shadows on the table and cross-fade them so it doesn't just appear.
@@SignatureCinematics Agreed. Been doing VFX since I was 7 and it looks television-acceptable, or even early 2000's acceptable. Not 2021, film level, but perfectly oki doki, especially for a tutorial.
Many, many years ago there was a program called Morph Plus which functioned very similarly to this. I've been looking for a modern version of that program, and never knew about the Reshape effect in AE. It seems obvious, as it, along with Art Dept. Professional, was the early days of Adobe! With Morph Plus, every point you added on one layer was duplicated on the second, and you moved that into place, so you wound up with a cage of motion points that stretched the images and dissolved between them.
Awesome effect! Am I correct in saying that the 2nd object must be larger than the 1st object for this to work? Otherwise I am getting the 1st object in the background.
first of all thanks for the video. The names of the layers change from original and new at first to video 1 video 2, and the lengths of the layers also change. I really had a hard time trying to do it. I'm trying right now and I'm really having trouble understanding it.
Thanks for the tutorial, very thorough and helpful! By the way, this is an odd question, but what country are you from? I’ve never seen a power outlet like that
For some reason I can’t connect the paths to shape the morph. (3:02) I am on a Mac, have OPTION pressed. Have selected RESHAPE. Can’t get it working. Could you go over this again slowly. I’m missing something. Layer solo?

Wait, how did you prevent the hand from fading out at 4:35 ?? Like, you've added a hand layer, but what's inside it would be awesome to know! Edit: I found a way to do it!
The interesting thing here would be to do the same in a sequence shot, a single shot, without cuts or several auxiliary shots. There is the magic. However the tutorial is interesting as well.
at 2:35 when you go back to the full screen view, your original object layer is trimmed. Looks like you shortened it "off camera" to begin during the transition. At which point did you trim it and why? Seems like that's an important point.
3:00 you didnt explain how you got those lines connected like that. i have the pen tool and its not connecting lines from separate masks. i'm holding down option and click 2 point (1 from each mask) and its not doing what your video does
I think u needed to subtract mask the handle inside of cup too. It looks off as it has the wood table attached and the glow u add just seems to make that not read so well Imo...nice effect though.
You're a lifesaver!! THIS is what I searched for multiple hours for my short movie. TYSM!!
Me too!
Holy Shit me to
The intro and music has my heart 💖

Watched it 20 times after reading your comment - the shadows transition pretty smooth in the video he shows ya at the beginning !

Wow, tNice tutorials opened my eyes to the beauty of soft soft. Your tutorial is as clear as the layout of the program.
Awesome effect! Am I correct in saying that the 2nd object must be larger than the 1st object for this to work? Otherwise I am getting the 1st object in the background.
Well, you can record a clean plate and then place it below those layers while the transition is happening.
Cool and easy
Awesome tutorial bro. Very easy to understand 👍👍👍

how to change the name of the mask?
I’m a newbie at this. What kind of app, software, or whatever are you using to do this?
This was made in Adobe After Effects.
Плохо что тут нельзя заменить ключевые кадры прозрачности быстрым растворением как в Премьере. А так интересный переход, спасибо!
why in Russian?
@@LornSide why not? 😁 & why so English?
Hi i want get into visual effects using after effects do you have achannel recommadation just like You and some who make premiere pro tutorials
The interesting thing here would be to do the same in a sequence shot, a single shot, without cuts or several auxiliary shots. There is the magic. However the tutorial is interesting as well.
?

Magic is real
That is very nice. Are able to teach me how to do it to a picture over Zoom?
3:00 you didnt explain how you got those lines connected like that. i have the pen tool and its not connecting lines from separate masks. i'm holding down option and click 2 point (1 from each mask) and its not doing what your video does
Did u used filmora 9 or adope premier pro ?
great
I think u needed to subtract mask the handle inside of cup too. It looks off as it has the wood table attached and the glow u add just seems to make that not read so well Imo...nice effect though.
Why do u need do duplicate original object and new object at the beggining? Is it necessary?
Of course, because you're masking out the object from the duplicated layer (so you won't keep the background on that layer).
Can you make tutorials for mobile users please
