You put the plugs in wrong . The plugs go on on the shooters side.

I have one of these and it keeps destroying my hand. Every time I shoot it, the ammo just hits my grip hand. I gave up and just shoot guns instead.

Unfortunately you did put the plugs in backwards here, they are supposed to be installed from the shooters side of the frame, not the target side.
Shoot safe.
