We found your videos a few months ago. My husband recently retired and we have taken up riding. We have watched ALL your videos multiple times and LOVE them! Not just the great info but also your insights and bits of wisdom about life in general. PLEASE do winter rides now that you have a great heated jacket. It’s going to be a long winter if we don’t see more videos❗️👍👍👍
So glad to hear it and congrats on retirement! Yeah, I hope to get back out there soon. I got sidelined with some dental surgery recently but I hope to put out some more content shortly. Thanks for watching 🙏
Brilliant! We have similar for riding Edna Mode (definitely 4 season riders). Heated gloves as well. Not sure I would do the same for cycling. I tend to layer up, wear booties, winter gloves, head and face coverings. So far it has served me well even below zero celsius. It hasn't been the cold so much - more the state of the roads. Came off once on a round about - black ice. Hopefully this jacket will get you out there in the winter - it can be good fun.🚴♀🎅🎄
Just other day I saw the advertisment about heated jackets and here you go here is your review. Unfortunately I don't think I would ever need it in Florida (unless global cooling happens😅) but if I would move up north(which will never happen) I would get one, this would definitely keep me warm. Well done review. 👍
lol...that's a great mental picture (what a great movie). I used this jacket twice more over the weekend (once just walking) and I was pleasantly surprised. To your "can't move" comment, that has been my experience with other shells--they tend to be so stiff but this one is pretty soft and pliable.
I hope the jacket makes a difference for you Bryan. I used to do alot of winter riding in my younger days. It always came down to 3 things for me. Keeping my toes from freezing. Keeping my face from freezing. And worrying about icy patches on the road. Balaclavas and wool socks and boots helped down to about 20F, below that nothing helped. In the end, I decided it wasn't worth it. So I think I'll stick to the trainer. Still it looks like a nice jacket
Agreed all around. yeah, there's a point where it's just not worth braving the temps. Although I met a guy while riding the KATY from Alaska and the pics he showed me were astounding! :) I didn't mention it in this video but I started using these little neoprene toe covers last year (on my Schuylkill River ride). They were a real plus. (amzn.to/3LAPblO) My finger and toes are the worst. I guess my face can take a beating...and it shows! :)
I liked it better when it was buy a cup o coffee, but the idea is the same, so.... thanks for the inspiration and entertainment - hope to buy you a cuppa sometime fer real. Merry Christmas&Happy New Year. Be safe out there.
Great review, Bryan. Yeah... I hope that gets you out during the winter when there isn't any snow. I'll definitely be looking into this for myself as well. Gord
there's hope for cold wimps! :) I've worn it a half dozen times now and I have really liked it. I'd say the only additional learning I've had is to better plan for recharging the battery. I came home yesterday and forgot, so it wasn't ready for my walk this morning but fortunately it was in the upper-40s.
@@RideAlongAdventures A time for charging and a time to disconnect from charging...😉 You know... I think I like the vest option the best. Easier to pack away with no hoodie. Gord
Poor man’s Zwift…RUclips and I. 😂 yeah, I have a simple spinner and I basically watch RUclips riding videos all through the cold winter months. Do you like Zwift? I have so many friends who tell me I need to join.
@@RideAlongAdventures I love Zwift. But I also use it for the training aspect (training zones, heart rates, etc). If you are more of a leisure cyclist then it probably wouldn't be for you.
Come on bike companies! Everyone watches RideAlong Adventures. Send him a bike and sponser him. Great review Bryan. Would it help on a 60° winter day in FL? A brisk 60 😂
lol!! yup, everyone. :) I think you're good to go in 60 degree Florida. However, back in Pittsburgh, you'd probably think differently. You crack me up.
Good morning. It's always a good day when I see one of your videos pop up in my feed. This video got me thinking more about winter biking as like you I tend to pack things up for the colder months. I'd like to hear your opinion about gloves for the winter months. I saw DEWBU had some heated gloves but I've also seen a lot of folks using strange looking insulated handlebar covers. I see them sometimes called handlebar mittens. I'm sure there are pros and cons to each approach and I'm curious where you stand.
hey, thanks for watching. so...good questions. I have windproof mittens that work very well unless it's really cold. i also have handlebar mitts that are fantastic. I think I like them the best when it gets super cold. The crazy part is that I only use a pair of cheap liners inside the mitts because it almost gets TOO warm. I highly recommend these two, depending on the handlebar type: ROCKBROS Mountain Bike Flatcar Handlebar Mittens amzn.to/3ZNThwA Bar Mitts Road Bicycle Handlebar Mittens amzn.to/46p55bh
Bryan, thanks for the quick reply and product recommendations. Really appreciate the videos as it helps me lay out potential trips to do with my kids or what I might try to tackle on my own. @@RideAlongAdventures

Hey all you need now is a good Balaclava and good pair of ski goggles and your good to go .
lol. Got both. I’ve USED both. At some point, it makes no sense. 😂

Exactly…the black ice worries me the most too. No solutions for that.
I love my heated vest complete game changer
Truth!
Thanks! Bryan, it was a great year of videos. Wishing you the best for the coming year. Looking forward to the Pine Creek.
Again, you are super nice, dude. Much appreciated. Yes, let's finally ride the Pine Creek!!!! :)
You're very welcome! I'm looking forward to it. Thinking May or June.

Yeah, probably not a Florida thing. :) But I definitely enjoyed it last weekend when it was down in the 30s.
Grat review. I never thought about those jackets. I just always bundle up to where I look like Randy from A Christmas Story. and can't move. , 😮Lol

❤ game changer! I'm in Philly and it get cold, so far the down puffer coat has been good, but my chest gets cold, so the heat pack would be great!😊
Philly weather. nuf said. :)
