Man this series was so winnable for Fly. Nevertheless, I gotta say I’m proud of them for how they played. Massu in particular- he looks like he’s been getting better every match.
Also it was surreal seeing Dom as happy as he was when they won game 2 lmao.

this was a lot closer series than i think any of us really thought it would be. and im sure im huffing copium but both TL and flyquest have definitely shown at points this year that they CAN compete against world calibre teams. they just need more consistency.
i REALLY think that dom would do well as a coaching analyst for one of these teams if they keep these rosters for the americas region next year. they have so much potential. massu is legit and while he's still getting caught sometimes, busio has improved quite a lot from last year.
oh dom would obviously be great at it. i dont know if he'd ever do it, but i dont think anyone out there has a better read on pick-ban than him.

Idk man, i guess it was nice seeing NA put up some sort of fight after being down every game and coming back because usually they'd just roll over passively and die... But people are really riding this into delusional territory pretending like FLY wasn't down 3.5k gold every game and that HLE wasn't doing some questionable stuff in Game 1 and 2 because they could afford to mess around and like Game 3 didn't exist, where all the chips were down and it was a must win, FLY just got WASHED...

I just finished game 2 and I've got to say; it's so endearing to watch you get excited for an NA team performing well, you genuinely might be the biggest NA fan, and its quite cute xD Also, great spot picking up the Gnar angle in the game 3 draft.
Really exciting watching Fly. After Nukeducks appearance on Last Free Nation, I was quite hype, because they way he talked about their draft priorities. Great to see a team all believe in the same ideas and play it out earnestly. Let's see how game 3 pans out...

Dom's streams are always more negative no matter who is playing. People watch Dom for his reactions to bad league gameplay, people watch Caedrel for his ability to hype up/explain the game.
I first followed Dom, loved his vids...then i went to Caedrel and felt his analysis was better while Dom's got worse. "oh he's just trolling, oh he's jsut feeding. got it. ok and we lose, perfect". and now actually i prefer Dom again. I feel Caedrel's just gotten a certain way, saying things that he knows the chat will love and interact with, it's just sillyness. And his biases i actually find more annoying than Dom's, not that there's anything wrong with them being biased. Dom's just more based at the end of the day

I agree, that West should have a few off-meta picks, just for such occasions. The reason why G2 won MSI few years ago, and was actually one of the best teams was their ability to play off-meta, and take advantage of it. Back than it was Pyke Mid/Top that dominated for them.
I feel like leaving xayah up and picking VI is a mortal sin. you can never go on the adc and when that adc happens to be viper who's probably the best adc in the world right now, shit's not gonna work.
@@CSRT123 The issue was that no one was picking xayah up to this point even in other games where it was up and the enemy picked vi so they probably were just banking on HLE not changing things up like that
Vi is just a really easy champ to counter… at least at pro level. It’s why you barely see pantheon as well. They’re fine in solo queue but for the love of god FLY looks best when they have Inspired on a tank/supportive jungler or ap jungler.
All things said and done, I had a great time watching Massu play.

the thing is, i’m sure 90% of players think exactly like him about the game. He’s just older and more mature (and also not actually in the game himself) so he can be more objective about his decision making, whereas the players are nervous and under pressure so they aren’t thinking as clearly as when they practice. He would make a phenomenal coach, but I’m willing to bet it wouldn’t change much bc in the moment the players would get nervous and do the same things anyways

I think these first two games show that NA’s top teams isn’t really that far from Asian teams. Maybe I’m just coping…but like you said it’s just basic mistakes that are losing us these games, and it’s likely just due to players being stiff against these Asian teams. If players just go out and try to confidently play their game of league of legends i think we’ll have better results against these teams.
