I am watching this and I love it. I'm sorry it is a breath of fresh air to see a video where mistakes are made. Not everything is perfect. It's not all explained so robotically. When you spilled the drill and they stuck to the canvas I was finally like "yes, not a prefect video, this is actually what diamond paint is like"
This was a great tutorial for beginners. I appreciate how relaxed you were and did not get upset with anything… trash drills, the original packaging, the wax… nothing was a negative. ❤ And I love your enthusiasm for tackling a huge canvas! You are amazing.
You did a great job on your video. I am a seasoned diamond painter and still watched your whole video. Just remember it is your painting and you can do it any way you want to. There is no right or wrong way. Thank you for taking the time to show this painting and your process. Take care of yourself 💗
Yes you can buy blank canvas, and you can buy sticky adhesive to put on it. I bought stacks of jars and pre-labled them with the entire DMC color collection for left over drills. You can buy colored stickers for like $3. That are in the color of the drill with the # on it, in both round & square. So i labeled all my jars, and then labled all my boxes that my jars were in and stacked them on a shelf for easy access... So the box reads 150-300, and inside are all those colors. Then i have one kit that i have jars in of what im working on so i dont have to deal with little baggies. Then at the end of the painting, i pour all my left overs into my collection jars so i have them if i need them for another project. Then my project jars are empty and ready to relable for the next project.
Honey you did a great job! Although you are a beginner you are very professional and informative. Btw your cross stitch is amazing. I appreciate all the work it takes to create such masterpieces. I don't have patience or eyesight anymore for stitchery. 👏👏👏
Hello Suki, Thank you for doing this video. You did a fantastic job on this video. You have inspired me to take out a Diamond Painting that I had bought for my son two years ago. I started it tonight with you. I would love to get it finished for a Christmas present before he gets too old to enjoy it. It's Thor! I plan on working on it one hour a night along with my cross stitching. Hopefully I will finish it in time. Thanks again sweet lady. Blessings to you dear.
@@thebrowneyedstitcher Well, Thor is about half way done. He's been put away for a week or so. I hope to finish him by Christmas. I'm beading my Maidens of the Seasons I, so close to a finish and then I'm also working on the Bella Filipina; Mermaids of the Seasons SAL. soooooo pretty. Thank you for asking. I hope you are having a wonderful day.
OMy gosh! You are amazing! That DP is wonderful and fits you perfectly! To me, diamond painting is a refreshing break from cross stitching. They go hand in hand. SO glad you are a spokesman for Diamond Art Club ❤
The diamonds come in all the DMC colours so you can covert any cross stitch chart you want to a diamond painting and make it on blank canvas with the square drills. It is equivalent to stitching on 10 count fabric though! So they end up really big very quickly! I've been doing a regular sized HAED as a diamond painting and I love it!
Just stumbled on your site. I'm a diamond painter..I love that kit I'm doing Turkey for Thanksgiving..it's 49jn x 22in I'm about half way through...lovecthe large kits.....I can't wait to get magic potion next
Loved seeing your smaller completed painting and hearing all about the craft - awesome to see your progress so far too on the big canvas! Thanks so much for sharing 💕💕
Square diamonds are always your very best bet to go with because if the canvas has any blending going on that you don't want or see at the beginning it can really ruin the finished product because you can see that hint of canvas color showing around the circle
There are lots of diamond painters who would disagree with you there. Rounds are fun to place and if the canvas is good quality, like DAC, the canvas has been colored properly so show through is the same color of the drills.
Amazing! Wish I had been able to see this before I started DP - I had to fumble around and figure it all out on my own. Best DP educational video on the internet!
I love diamond painting too. I dp less these days and have been stitching more but it is very enjoyable. Another reason why rounds are easier than squares is the size. Rounds are 2.7 mm and squares are 2.5 mm. That means you need more square drills to cover the canvas compared to round drills. Have fun, that’s a beautiful canvas 😊
You’re the first DP RUclipsr I’ve come across that didn’t empty the baggies into containers. Just curious if this is how you always do it and if you find it easier to do it this way? For me sometimes dealing with the drills before painting is a session in itself so curious if this way would be better for me too 🤔
Thanks for your videos, love them. 🎉 You Can get blank canvas for Diamond painting so you can do your own patterns. I love to do my mandelas when I Got the time, like you I Got a lot on my plate right now 😂. Im a multi crafter from Denmark, so you get around the World ❤

Its so funny to see a newbie with a diamond painting. You did a fantastic job describing everything and the steps to diamond painting. You are so raw and eager. The only thing i can say that was definitely not correct about the whole video, that when you said 100's are all ABs. All AB's in DAC are 100-149. Also dont let nobody fell you that you diamond paint wrong because you are new. There is no wrong way to dp except for putting the wrond drills where they dont go.
I did realize I misspoke about the ABs. I had meant to say that all ABs are in the 100 range! I'm really just a person who is okay showing whatever emotion is going on. 😅 We're all human with a range, after all!

I have done them for a long time now never turn your paintings always work from top corners doing small sections across the entire top and working down or you can end up with drills popping off as you turn it or roll it down onto your lap and when you finish a patch for the day use one of the rollers specified for it books can crack or chip the diamonds been there done that learnt from experience be wise.
If you have a large canvas like that you are going to have to turn or roll it. Nobody’s got a crafting space that large. You can roll the canvas with diamonds facing out and they don’t pop off, I do it all the time. And again. Cheap kits yes you will get popping. Because they are cheap.
I also work across the top going down. I'm not sure if that's actually best seeing as I've only done 4 and they were all small. I hope to get into larger projects soon, but I'm kinda scared lol.
You will do fine just relax with it and to at your own pace, I do top across going down because it keeps everything from getting stuck on it peeling back the film as I go and as I move down it gets the done canvas up out of my way to keep going. @@MsLrenee937
@jennthecaffeinatedcrafter5679 I realize this comment is a few months old, but I have a question. I always assumed starting on the end was best. But if you don't start it the corner, how do you decide where you want to start?
Always leave that film you are not using there until whole picture is done otherwise have fun picking fuzz and lint and whatever else off at the end before sealing it
I never leave the film intact and also never have issues with lint or fuzz sticking to the canvas, even with pets, etc. Sorry your environment is so dirty you have to worry about it.
If you seal it, it will dull the overall finish. You don’t have to seal them. Cheap kits cheap quality. And the amount of comments you are posting is bordering harassment, this is getting ridiculous.

Suki, get a special wax crayon made for the ABS.
Lift the plastic cover off the wax, then it goes in the pen real easy.
And jumping around can cause lint from reaching across an undone color and also lining the straight becomes a very big issue then.
Nope, still no issues with lint. What kind of fuzzy mohair madness are you wearing when you diamond paint??

Containers definitely help!! I agree! I have them for other projects but I wanted to show for this project that you don't need extras.
