    Imagine just nerfing the only class in the game that can be 2hit in full uniques/legendaries, and just nerfing the only 2 spells in the game that give them any chance against 3 other classes in the game.

    The voip symbol on your character portrait disappears when you're the last player in the dungeon. You can see as soon as that fighter took the portal that the voip symbol disappears, and thus you're the last player and don't need to think about who's left. Just a little tip for you :)

    it took me a while to realise that the "afterimage" from invis reveals you 2-3 times while you are invis rendering it practically useless for those moments where you need it eg a fighter/barb chasing you and you need to reposition.... so in my experience wizard just lost their greatest tool to reposition during fights...

    Haste over the 8 seconds gives you .96 seconds of extra time, haste takes .75 seconds to cast. In other words, add in lag and the fact you never just cast for 8 seconds straight, casting haste is literally pointless now.

      Yeah not sure why they made haste like that, if they were going after buff ball i feel like they should have just made it to where you could only cast haste on yourself. Imo wizard needs the speed haste cause it’s the slowest and the most squishy class

      Thats not how the math works. To find out how much time you would save it really depends on two variables which are the spell cast speed of the player and the spell cast duration of the spell being cast since they can vary (e.g. haste being .75s and chain lightning being 2.5s). To find out how fast you would cast a spell with haste you have to compute cast time = spell cast duration / (1 + spell cast speed + 0.12). An observation of how this formula scales is that haste will be more effective with lower cast speed and less effective with higher cast speed.

    Used to run ice shield just to remain positive in PDR whilst wearing no armour, with the new skin, I no longer need to run that perk, which is very nice.

    +1 magic power isn't going to be giving you +1 damage on ANY of your spells. you would need +3 magic power for 1 damage extra on chain lightning, the highest damage spell. to get +1 damage on zap you need 5 magic power.

      Magic power is % based. A 100% scaling makes every 1% from magic power/will also count as 1%. Better than nothing but additional magic damage is still king

    Tbh its not ignite. It seems to kill the goblins in the same amount of hits as the regular. I think it's mostly the staff hitbox , you're a bit close when hitting them and don't make full damage. Staff has more reach than it looks and you need to hit with the tip for maximum damage.

      Didn't they change it a while back to make damage full 100% anywhere the staff hits, I remember seeing it in the patch notes once. So it wouldn't matter where you hit with the staff it's always max damage unless you hit limbs.

    Have you tried intense focus (instacast) it’s honestly so strong to be able to start a fight with a fireball and immediately fireball again or instacast for chain lighting is super strong as well

    According to every lobby I go into you have to play either fighter barbarian or ranger and warlock plus be full geared to have a chance lol

    I agree that it is necessary to make good decisions based on your class but... The nerf to Haste/invis weakens and changes the way we play wiz, for me it's like removing invis from rougue, multi shot, second wind anyway. I think that each class should have its advantages and disadvantages, ideal situations, etc., but after the nerf, Wiz became unplayable, at least on solo. I've always been main Wiz since playtest 2, but I play with other classes and the difference in the rate of The success I have is huge, barb, fighter and ranger are very strong, I go to pvp with confidence but not with wiz, and I am very experienced with this class but I know that if I miss a slow on a barb/fighter , if a rogue hits me silently or a ranger sees me it is very likely that I will die, since I am slower than these classes including the barb (rage, aquilles, throwables) and the invis which was already easy to follow now it's not worth it... Anyway, I have about 5000 gold, I rented the inventory extension and I have a lot of gear in my wiz and even so I'm not using the class because it's dead, Barb and fighter are really fun to use these days

    Quarterstaff better for clearing mobs for sure and the lizard mage actually is not bad because I think giving up magic hat for harder headshot and base armor might just be a fair trade. You played well but did get a little lucky imo. Viable? Only if you are a skilled player and really know what you are doing because you are super vulnerable while resting and no slows with slayer fighters and barbs in solos a lot.

    I guess with the meditate changes wizard doesn't need the crystal sword as much as before. I still think grey wizard having a spellbook and crystal sword by default would be the best. The staff is basically unusable for pvp it's too punishing for people who just want to learn the class and constantly being reset it's like the worst of any grey set.

    im down with them changing stuff up but...atleast unnerf our will scaling a bit and magic damage scaling so we can dish out the damage if we cant properly kite anymore. i feel they will buff the new haste and increases the duration and percentage to maybe like 15%-25% on casting speed to make it where haste plus magic missile is actually terrifying, same with invis on a duration buff is what im guessing and maybe take away our audio of foot steps since now were visible (spitballing perdictions). although yeah the 10 spell and intense focus meta are really popping off....i mean i personally dont like clarity pots so this is a win for the current casters (besides warlock) and future casters on the rest mechanic. solid matches homie 𝕾𝖍𝖆𝖉𝖔𝖜 𝖂𝖎𝖟𝖆𝖗𝖉 𝕸𝖔𝖓𝖊𝖞 𝕲𝖆𝖓𝖌....𝖂𝖊 𝕷𝖔𝖛𝖊 𝕮𝖆𝖘𝖙𝖎𝖓𝖌 𝕾𝖕𝖊𝖑𝖑𝖘 (∩ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)⊃━☆゚. *☄💥

    Honestly, I've been loving Wiz since this patch. Instant Focus, 5 spell - Invis, Fireball, Zap, Chain Lightning, and Lightning Strike (Or Magic Missile for PVE). With the slight buff to Wizard gear as a whole, just finding Common rarity boots and hat makes a noticeable difference. You are forced to maintain distance a bit more, since the Ol' Haste Invis play is in the past, but this build can be quite oppressive. Chain lightning after Instant Focus is a crazy opener! Also, the rest changes are such a Godsend. I'll never be thinking of meditate again!

      i dont think it matters. crystal sword has magical weapon damage, not magical damage. so the scaling is actually the same as far as additional ignite damage is concerned, however im pretty sure magic power bonus does increase magical weapon damage so there's more damage from that.

      Yeah main thing is that crystal sword AND ignite both scale with your additional magic damage so you pretty much get 2x value from add mag.

      @@hittite_gaming The white staff has 7 additional. The max additional magic is +10 now, right? So I suppose after you reach +5 additional the sword is better, but if we're talking theoretical BIS for ignite then we just use the ball and dagger.

    These changes are pretty interesting for wizard tbh. Mainly the rest, 10 spell can now use spells on PvE without too much worry. I did a lot of sitting with Instant Focus and now I can do less while still rampaging through the map (instant focus fireballing doors is so satisfying, and now I can get them back easily). Slow has its time to shine and kinda feels mandatory without IF and there's more reason to use Ice Bolt which is cool. Haste on 10 spell with a lot of knowledge does speed you up a nice amount, mainly useful when running Chain / Strike Lightning imo - you can haste a Cleric that's ressing as well which is neat ig. I haven't felt too bad with the invis nerf, in most places its not too hard to break line of sight for a moment but Wizard v Wizard it feels most noticeable. Slow is the new panic button for melee imo (though invis can work out too) - protection from evil is very evil so take care vs Cleric. Wizard Hat + Shoes buff is great, the extra damage is nice with stuff like lightning strike. Would be cool to extend invisibility's duration a bit, like 6s, but it could be a little too much. Buffed buff duration as an extra stat could be kinda nice on epic+, max possible with that enchantment on all pieces is 70% which would be 6.8s of invis, 13.6s of haste. New BIS has been born
    Also Instant Focus nerf / bug got reverted / fixed, now you can stop casting without the buff disappearing as before.

    My gf and i were trying to figure out which lizarsman skin to buy me earlier. We came to the conclusion that the green one looked the most evil, red looked like a dumb-dumb and the blue looked the most "wizardy". I chose blue. 😂😂

      They didn’t reduce them by half. They slightly reduced them. Curse of pain is 5 base so it’s 10 with torment. But torment doubles the cost of all spells so hydra costs 20 health with it lol

      Warlock got obliterated, Curse of Pain costs 10 to cast with Torture Mastery, and you get less healing power from gear because of the scaling changes, even with the new healing on the hood. This effectively means that only Warlocks with end-game gear can effectively play with the old strategy, early and mid-geared Warlocks are fucked.
      The new "best" way to play Warlock is to just not take Torture Mastery and instead run Life Drain with Hydra, but you need much more knowledge to run this alongside other spells, and you can't take Life Drain + Hydra on a base kit Warlock, in which you drop Hydra for other spells like Bolt of Darkness and Curse of Pain, and use Life Drain against monsters for sustain instead.
      Warlock is much weaker now than it was pre-patch.

    They're gonna have to change Lizardmen around. Trading head piece for +20 armor is terrible. Especially when you factor in the bigger head hitbox, the stat loss, the fact that a lot of helms give more than +20 armor anyways, and most importantly NO headshot damage reduction. It's such a horrible trade off but they look so cool :( Hope the get changed to be more viable soon.

      The hitbox is smaller from the front and no helmet means no movement speed debuff. The real downside is the lack of stats

    Wizard main here: This patch is a huge buff for wizards because now we can take on more than one fight before having to extract. We can get away with running fewer damaging spells because we can now replenish the charges 3x faster without meditate. That means its better than ever to run intense focus. The invis nerf hurts but as a class fantasy it did not make sense to have a stealth as strong as rogues'. The new haste spell is an awesome idea but should be buffed up to at least 25%. Right now the 15% number is borrowed from having to nerf buffball. I think if haste had 25% spell cast and action speed it would be worth the slot. Wizard's class identity was strenghtened this patch. No longer have to chug clarity potions to participate in more than one fight.

      If wizard will have 300 movement speed in full default set without any weapons out then it'll be fine, but right now I have to have negative pdr just to get any reasonable MS

      Doubt it. They walked back hard and pretended they were targeting etchesketchistanis. If they decide to force a KoS playstyle they'll just push more casuals away.

    Buddy wizard isnt weak, buff ball got weaker. Why do u need movement speed when u can cast faster ur haste showing where u are every 1.5s barely matters u coulr already hear where a wizard was, now you get magical power on shoes and helmet that sounds like a buff to me

      clearly don’t play wiz. movement speed to get away from melee being able to just w key you to death. casting speed from hate is negligible. could already hear wiz in invis yes so why make it even easier by giving vision along with it. wiz is still viable yes but doesn’t make the update a buff

      Slow can cover the loss of haste, all it did was force you to land shots rather than cast at the floor to control the flow of the fight.more vulnerable in larger engagements now. The casting speel increase is deceptive as well, you'll only get a few spells off with it. Maybe they intend players to pair it with magic missile to get a shotgun upfront.
