I've found the best thing to do is avoid heat actions near walls. I think the game should warp you back to ground level but it seems to fail for the Millennium Tower.
I didn't like that Ichi and Tendo have the Aizawa vs Kiryu button mash scene. Kiryu was stronger than Aizawa (he's on par with Saejima, who mopped the floor with Aizawa) but there's no way Ichi could have single handedly wrestle Tendo down
Nah I think you’re underestimating Ichiban tbh, we saw that he was the one to land the knockout blow on Tendo, and he was good enough after the fight to go ahead and fight an entire armed security unit(with his party ofc) and then knock Masato on his ass, Ichiban is a champ when it comes to his endurance, so he would likely have an edge over Tendo that late into the fight.
Kinda sucks this isn’t a standard feature. It would be a dream if they gave you the choice to play turn-based or brawler. I certainly doubt they will, but nonetheless hope that will be the case with IW, or that it can be built on the back of Kiryu’s overdrive.
It takes a lot of extra coding and effort to make this kind of thing and make it polished to the same standard as the main game, since you're essentially making a whole separate game mode. It will probably never happen beyond specific moves like they are doing with Kiryu in Infinite Wealth
They should at least make it full brawler style combat but still turn based at the same time in the fact that you can switch characters during the combat like in the Lego games lmao
You know, in a perfect world, they'd mix the turn based rpg gameplay with the brawler type gameplay. You still switch characters like a rpg, but you play in the same style as the yakuza games, but with each character's special talents.

Its definitely weird to go back to the brawler games and be running around as 1 guy after playing 7. My idea is that they could add a button to hotswap between characters mid-combat, either instead of, or in addition to, styles
Pretty sure leveling up still increases your base stats, meaning you both deal more damage and take less damage the higher level you are. Also, equipment still exists.

The people who say Yakuza 7’s JRPG mechanics were bad and they should let you choose to do brawl combat instead are the people who think baldur’s gate 3 didn’t deserve GOTY because their short attention span can’t handle strategy lol
Brawling combat was half the reason I even played those games lol, if it originated as a JRPG I wouldn't even pay attention to it. 7 wasn't bad, but combat was easily the worst part about it, to the point where I just preferred using cheats to natural progression.

@@The_Stoned_Wandererthe vast majority of the game was a cakewalk where you could just spam any attack without thinking much except the Majima fight and like one or two other bosses. You should have to think more or there should be more difficulty modes unlocked from the start.

lol what strategy, y7 has a basic bitch turn based gameplay. You can't even move around your party members in battle.
