And the wasted time, the time you pass or literally miss in your life. An empty pocket of time you never lived at all! I don't really understand how dissociation feels like because I've never experienced such a thing. Be strong and God loves you and many of us here do too!

Hello. My name is Adrian, and I’m an alcoholic. Don’t know how did I get to this point in my life. I’m 42 yrs old, been drinking heavily hard liquor (Gin and Scotch) for the last five years. It got worse when I started working from home!
I’m doing my own detox as follows:
NIGHT: been doing the following one hour before bed so I can sleep:
    * One full drink
    * 1/2 THC gummy (makes mee sleepy)
    * One cigarette (calms me down)
    * One GABA pill supplement (calms me down)
NOTE: ever since I cut down the booze, I can’t sleep well (major anxiety).
DAY: been doing the following at daytime:
    * 0.5MG of Klonopin (no more than that).
    * One cigarette (calms me down)
    * One GABA supplement pill (calms me down)
    * CBD oil tincture (helps with anxiety), morning and afternoon.
    * Detox Tea morning and afternoon.
    * NO ALCOHOL DURING THE DAY !!!
Been doing this this week, but still the DTs during the day have been terrible! I guess it takes time! I can do this! My DTs are mainly tactile. I literally feel my entire peripheral nervous system like itching and moving! From the top of my spine to the back of my feet! It’s very pronounced and horrible! Also feel my skin burning, very shallow breathing, peripheral vision hallucinations (minor), very anxious, and irritable! I’m not seeing anybody these days.
Today was the worst day! I could barely work! I sure hope that it gets better in time, because the tactile DTs are killing me!
I’m praying to God and Jesus Christ to help me overcome this, because it’s ruining my life!
I know I can do this! I just don’t want to live like a slave to alcohol!
Wish me luck! Blessings to all! 😇

I know those symptoms well but my hallucinations were MASSIVE! I would very strongly recommend doing a thorough detox in a good hospital for several days followed by at least 28 days in rehab. My DTs were over in less than a week. Saved my life. It's far to risky to try this from home. 60 days sober now and I feel great.

Why couldn’t I had you as a nurse. I’ve been treated like shit by the healthcare system here in the states because everyone here abuses the medication that I desperately needed. Was deprived for 3 years and completely Clueless as to why I was hyperventilating and being sent to the ER over and over and over again. Developed hypochondria and have been living hell for the last 3 years due to the negligence and lack of support here from doctors. I feel I’ve done irreversible damage now and very upset. My wife was diagnosed with stage 3 liver failure and she started having seizures with her DT's when she cold Turkey-ed her drinking. They put her on 30 MG Valium per-day and she's fine now. The transplant committee says they are OK with Valium but if she takes ONE DRINK she will NEVER get a liver! ASK YOUR DR. FOR VALIUM (30mg PD) if your having uncontrollable withdrawals! You can taper Valium but plan on 2 years as it takes a LONG time to do it without going through hell.

For some reason imagining this not too bad plan becoming protocol referring to other protocols makes me understand why it often might not work... "They" are still human individuals who may differ a huge lot from eachother... There's no standard treatment "plan" or protocol that'll always work. This is more likely a very basic piece of information enough to catch up with a person for a few days. Thanks for sharing though, cause if this is as far as a nurses insight goes, it's not weird many give up on detoxification / rehab. Been through this and I rather wouldn't sign for it again this way myself, it's been traumatizing.

Try quit drinking couple times. My doctor provided me with medication gave me Valium 10 mg so the first two /three days I take about 30 mg then I take .50 mg klonopin for two days only ,then propanolol who helps me with the shakes. i’m not a doctor, so don’t take this as a medical advice but please go see the doctor. Don’t be ashamed like I was or even go to the hospital if it really bad. I was drinking up to three bottles of red wine. Please stop before it’s too late because I have symptoms of peripheral neuropathy in my legs are very weak. That’s very scary. I have no clue I was thinking alcohol is the liver but it messes your brain.
