They have done stories like this for over 25 years. I would love to see a follow-up on some of the adult prodigies, to see what careers they have chosen.
The largest thing for kids like this is being as socially normal as possible. I hope these parents ensure their child can reach their intellectual goals as much as their social and emotional development because as someone who "skipped grades" and was told they were smart forever, it inevitably leads to depression, insecurity, and a feeling of not belonging.
@@LR-mh8hsI can remember only a select few extremely smart kids throughout my K-12 years and honestly they were loners. Most didn't have a group of friends. Maybe what they meant is being extremely intelligent or even gifted ,you are different from the other kids. They are in different classes and technically looked at as different. You know how kids are. Where we see this as amazing and happy for kids like this ,that's not always the case growing up with other kids that can be judgemental. It's hard being a kid if your too smart or aren't smart enough. Honestly it doesn't get any easier.
@@Bluewatercat That's why it's important to provide gifted classes for these kids so they 1) get the education they need and 2) know that they are not alone. Exactly.. you couldn't have said it better I even put a comment out there to leave the kid alone get them off the media allow him to be a child.. and the things don't go the way you want them to go that's even a deeper stage of depression and I know this I see it in my son.. as smart as he is intelligent he's got it all he has got to have the lowest self-esteem ever known I hope you get through it you will don't give up just find the right people to be around don't give up

I hope for the sake of your child, you get him off the media and help him lead a very low-key life and be a child.
