  • These affirmations for driving anxiety are designed for people who want to help manage their own fear of driving. Positive driving affirmations can interrupt your normal pattern of negative thoughts about your driving skills.
Affirmations are well-researched in the fields of sports psychology and health psychology. But they can also be used to reduce anxiety and stress.
Listen to the affirmations often, pick out one or two that resonate with you. Then write them down where you'll notice them often.
Affirmations can be listened to silently, spoken aloud, written down, sung, chanted or listened to in rhythm with movement.

if anyone else is feeling nervous before their test, you can do this! Stay calm, focused, trust yourself, and it will happen!
Extra things that might help too: rescue remedy pastilles, getting a good night's sleep, having music/the radio on a low volume if helpful and allowed to, and watching if there are any youtube videos of your area's test routes. Best of luck!! :)

Yes, there's a misconception that driving anxiety starts with an accident, but it generally starts with an incident - like a near miss, someone driving too close behind, getting lost and flustered one time, getting stuck in a long traffic jam with nowhere to go. I have a whole bunch of video's you may find helpful here ruclips.net/p/PLlhU5CGlNSZzyEPmTqeeOq0pM8b3vP5Bb so you can start to find a way back to how you were before the hormones started flying all over the place

Thank you for your vote of confidence.
I have always found driving lessons hard and this is why other people I know, have passed their driving tests easily even if they speak little or no English.
I have tried learning for years now, and changed instructors many times or packed in altogether as some of them wanted to rip me off and not teach me anything.
This time I have found a great instructor. I would like to know if there a way I can change my mindset so that I don't think of 'Driving lessons' as being hard and be able to learn with more ease and confidence.
Now that I am a parent, I would really like to learn for myself as well as my children and finish that goal that I started years ago when I was a teenager.
Let me know if you have any ideas.
Your affirmations are really helping also.
      Many thanks
      ❤ Hina

    • @GenerationCalm
      @GenerationCalm  3 года назад +1

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I didn't see this comment hiding here. I don't know if you're still able to do lessons at the moment, because lockdowns have put a stop to so many things. But, mindset is a major sticking point for many. It's good to remember there is a difference between 'fixed mindset' and 'growth mindset'. Fixed is when we believe people are born good at something and growth mindset is when we believe we have the ability to be good at anything we just need the practice. Growth mindset is what will help you (and your children) and it's just a matter of adding the word 'yet' to your negative sentences. I can't drive yet. I don't know how to park yet. That small word 'yet' allows the room for possibility of learning something new. You can do this!

I’m so blessed to have found this community that experience what I have. I still struggle with driving anxiety… I used to travel and drive on the highway.. but my 1st time experiencing a panic attack was when I was with my ex husband headed to Florida… one min I was fine and the next I was panicked being surrounded by so much water. I’ve traveled with friends after that… but now it’s like I have a fear of just going to the next city or even 20 or 30 mins away. It’s like a overwhelming fear of an accident, something bad Happening and I’ll be alone and far away from home. When I try and make a little progress I feel great but not long after I feel defeated because it’s literally just 20 min distance. I cry because it hurts to battle with this when I have so many places I want to go and travel to but this fear keeps me in bondage. I want to be healed and free. The last time it was a friends wedding reception… I was so excited to go… but I came upon an overpass(bridge on highway) it wasn’t familiar and instantly panic set in and I got so scared I felt like I was going to go off the ramp… or lose control… I got so scared I exited off almost getting into an accident

Will you make another video, for relaxing after full day’s job and be calm again? Sometimes a fear can seem to come out of nowhere, but it's normally during a time of stress. Have a look at what's going on for you right now, and whether there's anything stressing you out that you're not paying attention to. It could be negative stress, like not being able to pay bills, or something positive, like getting married.

I have been driving for 35 years and recently I have been having trouble when I am driving. I feel that when I am driving that someone is going to come out of a side road and go into my car and I get nervous so I am driving slower and it feels like the car is moving faster than it actually is. I need to know why I am driving like this and how I can drive as I used to and not hover over the clutch pedal and think that I am going to have an accident. I would like some advice please

My driving skills get better with every trip
I am in control of my var and my driving
I relax and flow with the trafic
    I am grateful to drive
    My driving gets netter everyday
I find joy and peace in my car
I treat each car trip with confidence and ease
Because I drive new opportunities open for me
When I fe stressed I can slow down my breath
I care what I think not what other drivers think of me
I am learning to drive more confidently
I can cope with whatever situations come my way
    I am a sage driver
I believe in my ability to learn new skills
I release my anxiety to created space for joy
I am ready to explore my woorld

I am fine when I drive with other people but nervous to drive alone. I can do it but I'm very nervous and sometimes talk myself out of driving even though I know I need the practice. I have my license. I get nervous mostly when I'm not familiar with where I'm going. Any thoughts? Thank you

You can do this, devise a step-by-step plan going from least scary driving situation to scariest and start very slowly starting to drive alone. Make it very gradual, evaluating your comfort levels after every trip out. Small increments are best if you’re very anxious. But the more you start driving alone, the easier it will become.

It's never too late to start learning. It's just going to take time. Finding an instructor who you can communicate with and feel comfortable with will be key. But learning the skills will take time, so it's normal that it feels difficult right now, it's just part of the process. You got this!

This is such a very nice video for my driving affirmations to get me motivated and have my confidence to drive. You're such a great adviser. You gave me courage to keep on going to learn more in my driving since I am just a new driver when I pass my driving test I have mix feelings of anxiety driving a car for the first time. When I listen to your video it helps me so much to stay positive that I can do it! I can drive! Thank you very much for sharing this video 👍❤️

Thank you. This helped relax me about the idea of driving again. I want to experience the world and I will. I'll check back in when I pass my test to get my license. I'll probably write these down and come back to the video everyday until then.
