I used to exercise everyday twice a day but because of the hot flashes and the itchiness that comes with the hot flashes I don't even want to exercise anymore

I had these sudden sharp pains on my upper back followed by upper arm tightness (both on left side only) followed by face flushing and head sweating, nausea, feeling off balance and a sensation I was gonna pass out I genuinely thought I was having a mild heart attack. Sigh I’m so sick of these perimenopause symptoms, this isn’t my first such incident and I notice they get worse during ovulation and near menstruation.
I’ve noticed that doing some circular motions and side to side neck motions help soften the shoulder neck area. Also stretching is a game changer ladies. I swear when I stretch I can feel God within me. Simple things we forget so I write it down on my white board in my office and exercise room. Child’s pose is great as well as savasanna. Try to incorporate a little yoga into your regular exercise routine. I’m not flexible at all. It I still do them and trust me, they make a difference. Sending you all so much love and healing ♥️🙏✨✨✨

I can’t help but laugh as you describe the frozen shoulder!!! Ive been dealing with this for over a year now on and off, and exercise makes it even worse. And let’s not begin to talk about how bad it can hurt when your trying to sleep. 😩
Everything crunches and sleep is a nightmare with heat. I had both shoulders freeze in my 40s, its called Adhesive Capsulitis. It's the most painful experience after child birth. Ice and heat helps with the shoulder, put a pillow under the arm in bed. It takes 2 years each shoulder to freeze, be frozen then unfreeze. Estrogen depletion upsets the intestines as that hormone helps in digestion. I use Tens machines which help.
I have this on my right shoulder and yes it is extremely painful! I can not imagine having it both shoulders. I was getting ready to have surgery after 3 months of P.T but decided at the last minute to wait it out. 2 yrs?? Wow, I’m only 6 months in.
I am going through that right now on my left shoulder. Been dealing with this since August of last year just when menopause started. I am now in the thawing stage and have gain most of my mobility back but it is still painful as hell. Will be so glad when this is over. Can't even sleep at night and tired of popping Advil. Sheesh.
I had the same pain year ago,I found out Magnesium calcium +D3 from Swisse products it’s really work for me , am now free of pain. Thank you so much A.vogel.
Once again Eileen has her finger on the pulse. My shoulder problem started about a month ago and is getting progressively worse. Turns out I'm in the middle of frozen shoulder. Besides the stretching exercises, I use a hot pad and camphor patches. Don't even get me started on my lower back. I'm in physical therapy for that. I've said this 1 thousand times and I'll say it another thousand. It's way harder than I being a woman than a man. I'm two yrs into the menopause with two yrs of perimenopause before that. You name the symptom and I've had it. I'm even getting a hot flash typing this. I'm trying to ride the wave as best as possible. I pray that I'm not going to be one of those 'long haulers' when it comes to the menopause.
Thank you so much A. Vogel. I have always struggled with my water intake. I don't drink anymore. So remembering to drink more water is an issue for me. I have pains in the very parts of my body that you have mentioned. So this video is most helpful. I love the herbal teas.

It helps if I get up and do some light stretching and even a sun salutation. 🌞 When I have aches and pains, I find that Arnica Gel works wonders. I had a bout of about a month where my left shoulder hurt and I had reduced range of motion. I used ibuprofen, stretches upon waking, and rubbing in arnica gel. I found anymore that taking ibuprofen (Advil) for two days or so causes me horrible constipation. So during this time I had to be sure to account for that and adjust my fiber intake to compensate.
Great to hear that the Arnica Gel is helpful for you. Yes, it's a good idea to take things slowly in the morning and have a good stretch to loosen everything! Best Wishes Eileen
I need to know if there is anyone in the South Suburban area a Chicago that knows of a really good doctor that focuses on the three stages of menopause? I am so sick and tired of self diagnosing because they want to pump me with unnecessary pills when I’m telling them it’s menopause but because at the time I was still having a period I couldn’t be in peri or menopause. I don’t think they understand peri isn’t menopause and tells me I’m not going thru something because my period is still around. It makes me start to think it’s a racial thing and I’m trying not to, but darn it why won’t she identify Mu estrogen levels are less regardless and help me manage them. I hate the US it’s not all what they try to make it out to be. So prejudice even in health care. Thus why I’m here UK looks at the entire body and understands these symptoms and respects diversity. In the am, I no longer “jump” out of bed. I am mindful of how I move, proceed slowly to the side of the bed and out. My bones and joints take time to loosen up. It helps if I get up and do some light stretching and even a sun salutation. 🌞
When I have aches and pains, I find that Arnica Gel works wonders.

Thank you. Your RUclips channel makes me feel safe and sane.

I'm going to add MSM supplement again.
Do let me know how you get on with the MSM!
This problem came on very suddenly for me and had been painful and debilitating. The pain has been felt in the chest and the ribcage.
After nearly 2 years of extra yoga and physiotherapy, I came across Egoscue whilst looking at barefoot shoe reviews. It has been a real life saver!
Egoscue is a series of gentle movements to realign posture.
The book by Pete Egoscue is cheap and readily available, alternatively check out Posture Ellie online and on RUclips to get started.
Thanks for this helpful tip, Penny :)
