- Graeme Porter is a basketball coach, a racecar driver, and an athletes' representative on New Zealand’s Special Olympics Committee. He also holds down a full time job and he’s a family man.
In many ways he's living the Kiwi dream - but balancing all of these activities whilst living with an intellectual disability means that his family sometimes miss out on the attention they need. It’s time for Graeme to step up.

Disability doesnt matter if a person has a good heart and is a great parent and partner.
Actually, it does. His children have a higher likelihood of being intellectually disabled, too.
@@eatymceatison97 wouldn't take away from having a happy, fulfilled life, don't need a world full of Einsteins
He might have a disability, but he's a smart husband, parent and leader.
Special needs, speaking, reading, writing. Unusual leadership skills.
From one family man to another and from a person with a disability to another, I wish Graeme the best. From the importance of family life, good work ethics, sports to teacher's aids, speech pathologists and special classes, I have taken a very similar journey as Graeme.
Late reply, just wanted to say that having a disability doesn't take away from being able to be a loving, caring parent with lots to pass on to the child(ren). Look at all the abilities you have, and you seem very smart and well-spoken. Much of happiness for you and your family!
He's the only one I can fully understand, he's doing better with a disability than many without. Go on ya legend!😁👊
What a good man, caring father and a very loving husband. Best wishes!!

God bless her... that's gonna get old real fast, possibly for both of them. She's super patient.
He doesn’t help her enough when he gets home from work. Sweetheart, we all had that problem. lol. Don’t sweat the little things looks like a good father. He doesn’t seem like he’s slow. He just has problem with speech. Hard worker, maybe has got a little too much on his plate but a good dad.

"you'll get there one day" @ 18:39 so funny

I feel ya Nyssa on G being gone a lot. Once kids come it gets tricky. Hopefully y’all figured it out
If the documentary says I missed it, do they say what learning disability he is diagnosed with? Might not be important to him as an individual but would be useful for people searching who may be going through similar things, looking for others experiences
I know. He somewhat explained that he has a speech/language disorder, though they didn't specify. I'm guessing he has a learning disability, along with his speech/language disorder.
Maybe Language processing disorder?
According to Graeme’s own description, he has dyslexia (cannot read), dysgraphia (cannot write language) and struggles to communicate (speech & communication disorder). In short, he has no Learning Disability (intellectual). He has various learning disorders.
wem uk ppl with dyslexia and dysgraphia can read and write, it’s just harder/different to learn. G can do both but needs help.
He has what’s called a global learning delay in the USA. Which is a category they shove everyone in who needs support with book learning and speech. It’s broader than the ‘autism spectrum’ 🤷🏻♀️ G is G, everyone is different.
G has a very cool wife and life
Yes...help your wife at home!
Isn't brushing your teeth a daily occurrence? It should be done twice a day at least, but teaching its suppose to be done after every meal.
Why is she so surprised he's brushing his teeth, and he only did it a couple days before that. I guess this answers my long awaiting question of why everyone in England and around have such bad teeth, even.Younger lads, they should know better on dental hygiene. That's what I think at least......
Amanda Jones This was filmed in New Zealand NOT England. And please don’t stereotype the teeth of my entire nation. At least we get free health and dental care
You shouldnt brush after eating, your enamel is softer and can be damaged by brushing for up to 5 hours after eating
Dalam nama Tuhan Yesus, kamu sembuh. Amen
he is acting as learn disbilty on film or is he really learn disbilty?
It's a documentary, so yes he is actually disabled.
reminds me of Forrest gump
Cute story but why does his daughter have no shoes on? Going out in public in pajamas too?!
