Wesley has become exactly the type of Watcher Faith needs. They make a great Watcher-Slayer duo.
Finally - after years of falling off their paths, Faith and Wesley have finally become what they were always destined to be.

Watching David Boreanaz act as the demon Angelus is one of life's great pleasures. He just completely eats up the role, and it's endlessly entertaining. This arc alone redeems any other issues I might have with season 4.

First rule of hero-ing: Slayers having an existential crises are no respecter of tile-work.

A whole new meaning to Vampire Slayer.

So if Faith turned into a vampire, she would become a Slaypire she would retain all of her slayer powers, combined with that of a vampire, while only having the weaknesses of a vampire. I’ve never read the comic books so I don’t know for certain but to me it sounds like she could probably beat up anybody she came across😜

Yes way! I love how they keep raising the stakes with Angelus.

There was a move some time ago, I don't remember the name, where a woman(wife) dies on the operating table for a couple of minutes, but then comes back. Everything is okay for awhile, until it's discovered that something came back with her. It could be the same with Cordelia. When she came back from where ever she was, something hitched a ride. As for Faith becoming a vampire, I posed this question on the last episode, and I repeat - can a slayer be turned into a vampire? I'm sure that the former watcher council focused on this question too, but probably couldn't - or didn't want to - find an answer. They would've thought, "Let's assume it can't happen, and leave it at that.". The silence between Fred and Gunn is a good thing. It shows that Gunn needs to think about a potential future with her. Now, about the "she is stunning'' comment, I know what this is going to sound like, but since no one else seems to be saying it, I will. Have you looked in a mirror lately? Stunning could just as easily be attached to you. I know you might want to be a little hard on yourself, I'm the same way. I know what it sounds like - and I don't mean to give you a big head - but, you are pretty attractive. Let the simp comments commence.

The best episode of season 4 in my opinion and a highlight of the series as a whole, is the next one! Orpheus.

The most ironic thing about what has happened between Cordy and Connor (and how some people feel about that) is how it has moved the show in an amazing direction.
This arc, which started with Darla's pregnancy, has made this show my favourite ever. And Connor my favourite character ever (as close to a modern walking greek tragedy as can be).

Another incredible episode of this brilliant show. This one very much 'Faith Centric' with some amazing exchanges between Her and Wesley and Her and Angelus. Cordelia continues to be controlled, and is also controlling, Angelus very much on the rampage with DB knocking it out of the park here. Faith is of course powerful, but seems to find difficulty dealing with the fact that there are other more powerful than her, taking it out on the shower. Great comedy scenes in the bar, then Angelus hears the voice again with Cordelia being able to influence his mind. The scene where Wesley and Faith talk and he confronts her about the torture and pain she has inflicted to others, Faith finds hard to accept. Alexi Denisof does a great job in his role as the cynical hardened warrior Wesley has now become, going around like Jason Statham in Blitz! Interesting he mentioned the 'shallow cuts' to Faith, the same line was used in BTVS The Gift, when Dawn was being knifed by Doc on top of the scaffolding. Wesley knows by goading Faith he can release her 'killer instinct' in her which we know is still there. Some of the best fight scenes in the Buffyverse at the end of this episode when Angelus recalls the time Faith begged him to kill her, and the cliffhhanger when Angelus bites into Faith's neck. This was a banger, but the next episode is a Mega Banger, and Dakara you gotta avoid those opening credits for Episode 15 Orpheus, one of the best in the entire show.

I don't think there's any canon lore about turning slayers, but I assume it's possible. Theoretically, they'd be an ordinary vamp, they'd just have the benefit of training and experience that most vamps don't. The power would move on, no matter how she dies. If she was something special, there'd be stories about it by now... unless they were suppressed by the council...

    • @arc7375
      @arc7375 22 дня назад

      SPOILERS:
It’s later revealed that Slayers are ”anti-vampires” where an inert essence of a demon is taken by a living human, compared to the soul of a demon possessing a human corpse. I personally headcanon that Slayers are _unable_ to be turned. That the two would sort of cancel each other out.
People have long theorised that Sunday from season 4 was a turned slayer, but I’m. It sure if there’s any credibility to that, other than just fan theory.

      @@arc7375 MORE SPOILERS (post-TV show)
There are slaypires in the comics. I haven't really read up much on this but they appear to be more powerful than regular vamps. I wish this could've been explored more in the shows (Kendra or former slayers) but whatevs.

Never seen someone be so stern about Faith wrecking the shower. If you had been her Watcher, Faith would have never broken bad.

SPOILERS FOR THE REMAINDER OF BtVS
The highlights VIDEO showed up in my notifications, but not this video. Odd.
Loved the reaction at the end of the video.
Connor not being recognized by the santorium spell as a human is fantastic-ly delightful, both because of his rush to kill and because of his prejudice about all demons.
I love Faith and Wesley's watcher/Slayer dynamic in this episode. I think in some ways, it's stronger here than Buffy/Giles ever had. Buffy/Giles was great with father/daughter in regaurds to their watcher/slayer dynamic, but if Giles didn't care about Buffy that way or her in return, they didn't have a strong watcher/slayer dynamic alone. It's part of why he was fired. Without what the council deemed not recomendable (having "a father's love" for Buffy) their watcher/slayer dynamic isn't as strong as Faith and Wesley's is here. The way Wesley and Faith are here is the way all of them should be (even before a father/daughter dynamic, should those form) in the sense of slayer talking to watcher and watcher talking to slayer, using and dealing with personal issues so as not to get bogged down by them when going against villains.
Buffy, with Giles as her watcher, is just a kid, and by the time she is an adult (S7), because they didn't have the bond from this episode, Giles cannot handle Buffy doing things on her own and goes behind her back. Faith and Wesley worked past these issues to the point where in S7, Giles and Buffy's father/daughter dynamic is now the problem, just as The Watchers Council feared. It doesn't make The Watcher's Council right, but it does mean that they weren't exacly wrong when thinking it was a problem. Technically Faith and Wesley's issues should be the harder issues to overcome, but they aren't because they don't have that history of a father/daughter dynamic. Kids rarely have the bond Wesley and Faith do in this episode (which is why Buffy and Giles never had it) due to being kids, but Buffy and Giles building it up during that time could lead to what Wesley and Faith have and could have with Buffy and Giles if their watcher/slayer dynamic was built up better without the father/daughter bond. It actually interesting when you realize neither of the two ways are bad, but both of them have their faults. Currently Faith and Wesley are hitting the stregnths of their bond and Giles and Buffy are hitting the faults of theirs.
In terms of how Wesley was talking to Faith, he wasn't testing her so much as showing her she'll need to go to the dark place she spent years crawling away from in order to beat Angelus.
"Vampire with a gun" and "I see why he likes this thing" are probably my favorite Angelus lines.
I love that for Angelus, the gun was just another way of torture. He would never have any intention of making it that quick, even on people like Faith who he wasn't planning anything long-term on.
