Why would you run a generator inside the house?

I wonder what specifically happened that caused the fire? Did some stuff around it catch fire?

If you run generators outside, away from buildings

A generator MUST be maintenanced at minimum once a year by professionals. And never enclose one. DUH!

Improper fueling of generators is what I seen the other day on the news, spilling it all over the fuel tank and leaking on engine and exhaust 😢😢😢

Rule #1, keep an extinguisher when dealing with power generators.....after running out of gasoline. They can overheat n catch on fire 😢

We called 911 as soon as we heard them scream, they picked up and came within a few minutes pretty quickly but took 4 hours to finish cleanup.

Some of the cell providers namely T-Mobile wasn’t working well. Some of their cell sites don’t have generators.

The generator could have killed them from the carbon monoxide fumes released from the gasoline engine!!!! That would have been an even worse tragedy. Generators should be operated (if possible 25 feet) away from the home. I know they were afraid of it getting stolen, but now they have no house left to power. I don't think their priorities were in order. Please learn from this mistake everyone. Find a tree, and secure your generator with a lock and chain around the base of it, if possible. You can also anchor to a concrete slab, or take the wheels off, so that it will not be so easy for thieves to move.
