Definitely the Essence baked blushes ❤ And probably not new, but definitely new to me after it being recommended by so many people I watch, the Sigma under eye color corrector. My mom is now obsessed as well 😂
Kelly, I am 71 years young and I so enjoy your videos! I completely love the Essence blushes and highlighters.. Great, buildable color with a slight wash of glow. However, like you, while I like several of their products, every single one has come apart. Although, I too agree that for the price point, I find a way to “fix” the compacts. Hope you enjoy a wonderful holiday season. Take good care.
Kelly, you are so to be commended… I’m numb from Black Friday “have to” get hype. Love your no nonsense rating and always look forward to your honesty!
I gotta disagree with Kelly about the idea of Drunk Elephant including sunscreen to boost the skincare bonafides of their highlighting drops. The inclusion of sunscreen in cosmetic products that are meant to be used sparingly is actually a pet peeve of mine because I think the marketing around those additives are seriously irresponsible. No one should be using cosmetics for sun protection. Unless you’re piling foundation on like Meredith Duxbury, you’re not using anywhere near enough to get the amount of sun protection that’s listed on the label. But a lot of people don’t know that because the labeling requirements for SPF do not make the brands list what the actual spf rating would be if the product was used as designed. Most of those SPF 30 foundations and primers are probably the effective equivalent of SPF 4 for the way most people use them. That would be even more true for a product like Drubk Elephant’s that’s made to be diluted into a primer or moisturizer. And while yes, even SPF 4 is better than no SPF at all, I do think the lack of education and poor labeling leads people to making poor choices about their sun protection. So I’d rather just drop the pretense and exclude SPF as a benefit for products that were never really designed to be used as actual sun protection.
I definitely see your point here! And I agree when it comes to products like foundations and powders… which would require way too much product to receive adequate sun protection. However, we’ve seen many examples of cosmetically elegant glowy sunscreens. I’m confident that DE could create a formula comparable to the SuperGoop Glow Screen that would provide both sun protection and a glow :)
That's a good point. For the 32dollar price tag you'd need alot to get the spf needed. I'd rather use a cheap sunscreen underneathm Plus doing so you'd be very sparkly 😂
@@KellyGoochcould they? Probably, but I actually have my doubts that even most GlowScreen users are using the full amount of product they need for sun protection. Granted not using enough sunscreen is a problem even among people who use dedicated sunscreens, but I do think for products that are really cosmetics first (and I include GlowScreen in this!) that people are more inclined to only use as much product as they need to achieve the look they want and not how much they need to protect their skin. Especially since I doubt these companies are calibrating their products (whether we’re talking about the level of coverage/tint/glow) so that they look their best when the full .25-.5 tsp is used for the face to get to the SPF that they claim to have.
The Milani mascara is my HG. Yesterday, I accidentally fell asleep without washing my face and when I woke up in the morning, it didn’t budge! I depend on tubing mascaras because of my oily eyelids, but as you said, not all formulas are created equal and this one is my favorite. That being said, I don’t build mascara up (just a one-coat person), so it’s nice to see a different perspective. Hope you’re enjoying the long weekend!
The Thrive Causemetics mascara left my lashes totally stick straight, just like you mentioned about the Milani mascara. The Thrive also smudged on me, which everyone touts tubing mascaras as preventing against! It was a real bummer for me. I’m over the tubing mascaras. Sticking with a waxy eyeshadow primer to prevent smudging. This does the trick with most mascaras!
There's a girl at my work that wears a dark red lipstick everyday like a neutral and I work at a warehouse! I admire the confidence to wear a red so normally. (:
These are some of my favorite videos of yours; they are very helpful to a newbie like me who can't afford to spend money on high end makeup products that might not work when I'm still kinda trying to figure out makeup in general. So thank you
Hi Kelly. I use the ELF whoa glow every day under every foundation. Also, I just bought the polite society big mouth lip plumper. It is very extreme in the pain category. It definitely works!!!!
I'm so tempted with the hour glass pallette. But the price 😢 I've already got a blush & the ambient lighting pallette & keep telling myself I don't need it. The essence blush I bought because of you, and I love it!
Hey Kelly I agree with you on some of these products that they're average and that some of the products are available at the drugstore. Love the look for today.
Funny thing about Essence - I broke every single product too but for some reason when it comes to Catrice (their sister brand) every single packaging stays the same (when it comes to face products). I don’t know what it is because you can tell that some products are made in same country (perhaps even lab here in EU) but it never feels the same (except their collabs). And they are at the same price point. Mind boggling. Although I like powder products from Essence more than Catrice which might be the reason why their packaging sucks - they invest in better formulas. Anyway thanks for the video ❤
Catrice HD Foundation is my Holy Grail. I bartend and it's the only foundation that stays on my skin through 12 hours of sweating and having beer spilt on me. Even lasted through my coivid mask. It doesn't even look crazy heavy.
I’ve heard so many good things about that foundation for the same exact reasons. Personaly I only swatched it in drugstore and it stayed on my hand for like 5 hours during a lockdown when I sanitized my hands like every 20 minutes. 🤯 but with my super dry skin type it was no go for me unfortunately but I’m still hoping for foundation that will suit me lol. I have to give them that - when they do something great it’s ‘let’s put high end to shame’ type of great. I love their green corrector and the new Catrice Soft glam filter (dupe for ChT Holywood flawless) it does what it’s supposed to do and is hydrating. I gave up on their powder products when they discontinued their highlight+contour powder duo which was my holygrail and when they re-released them formula felt different and so were shades they offered. I’m still salty about that 😅
Kelly, just a comment about the ranking column: the text could be either aligned in the centre or to the left to make it look better. Love the video though!!!
Maybelline have added chilli to their amazing lip glosses in the square tube. I forget the name. I love the original formula and don’t plan to try the fiery ones.
I actually bought the Catrice concealer for the purpose of trying to "dupe" the $30 ND Hi-glam . Its really good but still have FOMO on the ND just bc everyone I watch like it. Lol
How could anyone hate the Merit eyeshadlows? It is meant to be used as a one and done - the hint is in the "Solo" name. It does exactly what it is meant to. It's fair if someone doesn't like it because it does not work well in complax looks, but that is most certainly not a fault of the product.
Merit shadows are my product of year! ❤ them and I top them with all sorts of glittery shadow sticks and pots like Rare Beauty, Hourglass or Victoria Beckham eye shadows. I have no issues layering them. They make a great base for my oily eye lids. ND is sooo horrible for my eyes...but the T28 is awesome! I think it has to do with your age and skin type IMO. And I'll say...I get mistaken for mid 30s all the time but I'm 45. I'm biracial and have been blessed with younger, good looking skin. I also see an aesthetician every month for a professional facial like chemical peels, dermaplaning or hydrafacials. I'm all about good skin care. I only started when I was 40 really taking care of my skin.
I haven't tried any of these the only one I'm seriously considering is the Natasha Denona concealer. I haven't found a concealer I like. This may be partially do to, not picking the correct shade. If I don't find something soon I'll spend the coin and give it a try.

Nope, it was me too, I found it thick but once I got it sheered out enough to look reasonable, the coverage was gone too. So much work, so little payoff!
What hyped up product do you think DESERVED the hype this year?
Worthy of hype: Sigma setting powder, ND eyeshadows, NYX Lip Oil, NYX Eyeshadow 16pans, ABH eyeshadows, GXVE Beauty (many products).
The ND concealer!! Totally agree on that one 💯
Nyx lip oils, Nyx Bare with me concealer, Tower 28 glosses, and the Fenty skin tint
