@thrawn80 You got two things wrong here: 1) most 777s are NOT in 3x4x3. In fact, very few airlines have 772ERs in that config. Most of the 3x4x3 birds are 773ERs, and even then, they're still not a majority. 2) Um, the 777 was the aircraft that INTRODUCED the Signature Interior, lol. So of course all of them, including the 772ER, have it.
@lyianx I was being sarcastic, those lens flares are digitally added to add dramatic realistic depth. the star trek movie is a great example of its overuse.
I just love the background voice..Neither Discovery nor any on else' crash investigation has the voice like that...coulld any body tell me the name of that person...
@RapierMedia If you read the actual AAIB reports (in the public domain) you will find that the time interval between the first intimation of "involuntary rollback" and touchdown was actually just 34 seconds. I think the grew did an amazingly good job under those circumstances...
My aunt who lives in Romford was coming to visit her parents (my grandparents) here in Finland, and she was on the airport waiting for her flight when this happened.
That close to the ground the plane might have stalled if he'd retracted the flaps sooner. In fact it was stalling at the end; you can see the stick shaker is activated just before the crash. But thanks to Burkhill's timing it happened over grass and mud instead of brick and mortar.
=P well, look at it this way, watching these shows gives you a glimpse of knowledge on what should be done and keep alert in case of evacuation, besides for once will make you want to listen to flight attendances.
@thrawn80 there is no 777-200ER I think 777-200LR is there and 777-300ER, and the 200LR have fly range more then 300ER I think so correct me if I'm mistaking
i guess cineflex should make a better simulation next time of the cabin of the 777 im sure that the seats aremt arranged 2-3-2 as 777 is wide enough to have a 3-3-3 arrangement in the economy section and it a lot wide since i have been in one myself before.
Man, I watched this on the day I was supposed to fly a 777, on British Airways to Heathrow... At least if anything happens, I have four years of FSX experience.
I think the pilots should of announced for the passengers to brace, but then I am not a pilot nor have I been in a life threatening situation that makes my mind not think straight. They did an excellent job.
There is a video here on RUclips where a passenger is filming the small TV screen in front of him. What are they showing...? Air Crash Investigation.....!! |-) Have a nice flight !!
@foozooljalal most of the 777s are 3-4-3 but layouts can be configurable. Moreover, this is a 200ER variant, here're some numbers: 301 (3-class) 400 (2-class) 440 (maximum) source: wikipedia On top of that i think the 200ER variant MAY not be having the signature interior as well...
Go to 0:33 for a New-Zealand accent Go to 9:50 for an Irish accent Go to 10:02 for an American accent Go to 14:01 for an English accent Go to 14:04 for a Russian accent (listen to "manually") How many nationalitites does Captain Burkhill have???
@ImmortalSynn 1) icic, i bet u fly around in 777s much much more i guess. 2) i was referring to the cabin in the show - unless i remembered wrongly, but it doesn't look like signature to me...
@ImmortalSynn Erm... whatever, i was referring to the show. I know how the signature cabin looks like and i think i've flown enough to distinguish. So yeah. have a nice day.
....Wo_oW a good flight crew...i love the way they handled the emergency...that was the best theyll actually deciced to do....i love aviation n still wish to fly the other tym despite all these Pan Pans May days...*wink*
don't know if i'm right or not but if i couldn't get power i would have put it back on auto. also he should have lifted the flaps sooner. these planes will take off and land themselves. well, time to watch the rest.
it's not an engine failure dammit... an engine failure won't indicate idle or near-idle N1s - that is around 20-30% The engine went near-idle, they didn't exactly fail. There was still fuel being supplied, even though very restricted.
If you know what's good for you, you'll stay calm when the shit hits the fan. That's what they teach pilots from the start. Panic paves the way to bad karma.
i didnt know they had a show like this. Thanks. Hope you upload more.
OMG! I love you! Thank's a bunch for uploading!
thanx for uploading. i missed this last night. :)
OMG a new series!!! Thanks for the upload
thanks a lot for uploading this...i had an appointment and issed it last night
Thanks for Uploading mate!
i'm allready affraid of flying and watching this doesn't make it any better
but these vids are just so..........
i just can't stop watching them.
You sir and your crew are the best pilots in the World to make those life and crash decisions God Bless You!
@thrawn80

exactly because of these shows that you should feel safer flying now than in the past
good pilot, a bad flight but still lucky landing considering the scale of the problem. thank you for uploading.
That was a great split second choice by the pilot
thanks amazing episode
British Airways is one of the safest airlines in the world! The crew did an outstanding job! I love British Airways
"what do you mean?" I THINK ITS PRETTY BLOODY CLEAR
Very short time (less than 30 seconds?) to react for the emergency situation, but the captain DID do the good job!
I just love the background voice..Neither Discovery nor any on else' crash investigation has the voice like that...coulld any body tell me the name of that person...

Hats Off to the crew...
I have flown a couple times and its fun as hell, but watching this is scary, even though the chances are slim
@MayoDK you DIDN'T know the plane was gonna crash? The show is called Air CRASH investigation....
That close to the ground the plane might have stalled if he'd retracted the flaps sooner. In fact it was stalling at the end; you can see the stick shaker is activated just before the crash. But thanks to Burkhill's timing it happened over grass and mud instead of brick and mortar.

@RapierMedia Not enough time. Priority one for a pilot is to "Fly the Airplane" Declaring emergency, calling cabin, etc is all secondary.
well, I may be a laymen but to me it seems like the captain made a series of decisions that inevitably saved a lot of innocent lives.
@thrawn80 there is no 777-200ER I think 777-200LR is there and 777-300ER, and the 200LR have fly range more then 300ER I think so correct me if I'm mistaking

I always watch this show before I fly. xD
@ass23ful I hate it when they do this. How hard can it be to get a clip of a BA 777 arriving at Heathrow? :p
Thanks
Man, I watched this on the day I was supposed to fly a 777, on British Airways to Heathrow... At least if anything happens, I have four years of FSX experience.
Not always. Sometimes you dont know what happened and what can be through the door....
I think the pilots should of announced for the passengers to brace, but then I am not a pilot nor have I been in a life threatening situation that makes my mind not think straight. They did an excellent job.
Aircraft are becoming safer and safer like the hudson river incident, thats y I love em!

@CaptainKorhonen That's quite the stick shaker then! :)

How many nationalitites does Captain Burkhill have???
arr those lens flares are so friken annoying in this episode
omg this crash would be my nightmare.....
im an aircraft maintainer specializing in flight controls, landing gear and crash recovery -_-
yeah..I'm flying from Germany to the USA again..sooon!!!
I'm scared now..why I do I keep watching those videos?? :D
4:08, did he say coward?
@ImmortalSynn
1) icic, i bet u fly around in 777s much much more i guess.
2) i was referring to the cabin in the show - unless i remembered wrongly, but it doesn't look like signature to me...
Still my favorite aircraft
Has anyone else realised that the interior of the plane is not Boeing's Signature Interior? Pause at 3:28.
that was a SAD MD 80 at 5:50
no wonder they crashed, look at those blinding lens flares
no casualties. surprising.
@ImmortalSynn Erm... whatever, i was referring to the show. I know how the signature cabin looks like and i think i've flown enough to distinguish. So yeah. have a nice day.
This is an Airbus A330 or A340 cabin. Look at the overhead panels and where the air conditioning is!
Isn't this the one where the pilot got royally screwed over by BA even though he essentially saved everyone?
The next episode will be about a plane that blew out a tyre
Quantas until the A380 incident was the best
The British Airways pilots are great. See also All engines failed. Cool guys, I trust in them
What channel is this on anyone Know?
@shaunsprogress I believe the show is produced in Australia.
@priyonjoni its from the cabin lights
I am flying off tomorrow and I am watching air crash investigation =.=
11
Very good PA for British Airways.
NICE SAFE FOR UPLOAD
OMG! is the Boeing-777-200ER okay?
@foozooljalal there IS a 777-200ER.
seems as though BA were wanting a crash situation to highlight their plight.
Did I hear it wrong or is the copilot's surname Coward? What an unfortunate surname!
Lol he doesn't deserve that name though
@MegaEvilToaster The third pilot is a relief pilot because its a long flight
Air Crash Investigations should created a new episode, the asiana airlines crash
big ups o the pilots in that plane they did a good job
@Homerard he's a pilot, i guess he picks up his accents at souvenirs everywhere he lands
because it puts you in Portuguese?
@Ryanieman It's called a reconstruction.
Three? Doesn't the Boeing 777 only need two pilots
Is that what a real 777 cockpit looks like?
@skyhawk5265 It's the stall alarm... -.-
35% power? Not as bad as 0.0% from both engines
thats not a 777 interior :p
seats in 777 are 3 - 4 - 3
I agree.
that could of flew over my house
....Wo_oW a good flight crew...i love the way they handled the emergency...that was the best theyll actually deciced to do....i love aviation n still wish to fly the other tym despite all these Pan Pans May days...*wink*

I AM FLYING IN 5 DAYS AND I AM SO SCARED
@bvestationfan 35% of power is idle.
@Sonicx5698 you mean scarbus? no thanks!
I remember wehn this happend
lol right? its sto scary to watch when you are flying
If only they failed at 100 feet...
British Airways = THE BEST AIRLINE EVER!!!!
This is the reason I tsake 2mg Ativan before and have 2 or 3 drinks during the flight!
@19932606D coming here to Disney? Orlando Florida? Want to catch a magic game?
@xshortxbutxoxwellx yup... getting on a plane in about 2 hrs.... bad idea..
@pogogal17
Oh bloody hell; spoiler alert please!..
Caused by faulty Rolls Royce FOHE (Fuel Oil Heat Exchanger).
@ImmortalSynn At least I knew my manners.
it's not an engine failure dammit... an engine failure won't indicate idle or near-idle N1s - that is around 20-30%

I was on this plane
cant just land on grass jeez its not like he hit a pole
