This was temple lodging and from what I gather temples that decide to offer lodging do so more as a service as opposed to for business reasons. So the accommodation in temples might be more bare-bones or consist of whatever they have to offer. Don't worry if you stay at a proper hostel you will always have a mattress! I am lucky that I don't mind hard floors for sleeping so I thought it was pretty comfy 😆
