- Luke C (@BallisticAviation ) is on the scene in Wichita Kansas for TriggrCon 2024 with Trigger Empire and their new AK Compatible Forced Reset Trigger. The Trigger Empire AK Forced Reset Trigger (also known as the KONO) is slated to be one of the first commercially available forced reset triggers for the AK platform and will be compatible with a wide variety of AK styles including 5.56, 5.45, and 9mm AK variants from the most popular manufacturers. Today the two young company owners Alex and Jesus tell us all about how they've brought their designs together and plans down the road for three position selector kits as well.
Trigger Empire is one of the recipients of this year's Golden Trigger Award taking the award for "Best New Accessory."

@@zachgood1503 well yeah, this actually changes the function, instead of an accessory.
A white light or scope is a practical item. An FRT is a gimmick
@@jonathansmith7306 You're looking at it a little myopically. It's just the general point that people will pay inflated prices for one thing where the inflated prices have become the norm, but on a product like this with brand new R&D and likely incoming legal trouble, they scream that it's too much money.
Anything is practical or not practical depending on how you look at it. Most of the people on here already have multiple AR's that are fully kitted out, worth thousands and thousands of dollars. Is a 3rd or 4th setup more practical than a fun range toy like the FRT? I don't know.

500 is a lot but this is literally two dudes doing it out of a garage. That kind of innovation costs money. I'd considered one for my 5.45 ak. It recoils so little that high rates of fire would still be effective at shorter ranges, i feel like. My question is does it become a 3-position safety where you can select single and open? I'm assuming so they just didn't specify that in the video.
yeah, they are not a big company and have to do each of these by hand. its not a massive production that costs pennies by no means.

AKs are now the avocado toast of the industry so expect 💸
500 bucks isn't too ridiculous considering a transferable F/A ak is above $50k, a postie is somewhere between 2-5k (not counting the cost of having a business and SOT license), hell, buying an f/a trigger pack and doing it yourself patriot style would still run you about that much at least between tools and parts, or how about renting a f/a ak at the range? looking at about 50-100 bucks for a mags worth, lol. I think 500 is pretty reasonable for a legal and non-permanent f/a experience.
Not to mention, this the first one. When the FRT came out the WOT came out almost immediately and under cut it by half the original MSRP.

The ability of agencies to make law has been significantly restricted, due to Loper 2024 overturning Chevron 1984. It's sad that Rare Breed isn't on the market yet for AR15s, but at least this company was able to release theirs for the AK. Not to take anything away from this company, but it almost seems like they had their product ready behind the scenes. Then when Rare Breed won the crazy lawsuit, they released it after hearing the news. I could be wrong though, who knows lol. It's just odd that the company that actually won the lawsuit still isn't able to have their product on the shelves yet, but others are selling their products.
RareBreed hasn't really won anything. It was only a district court, and the case is not over. The ATF filed for appeal and that will greatly extend the process. That's why they can't restart production still, because the case isn't over and it's not a nation wide case to begin with.
