In this video, Adam Neeley and I discuss what it means to speak musically and improvise without stress.
Meeting someone for the first time and communicating with them musically it's a very interesting experience. That's what I got to talk about with Adam Neely at GuitCon 2018.
The parallel with language came up again as we discussed how important is to develop a strong vocabulary in your instrument; and how you should introduce yourself in a musical conversation.
The art of listening is also crucial. An experience that can be really stress-full if you don't know the rules of musical conversation.
We also went into the exercise of putting your instrument down and explore the ideas that you can create with singing.
