Good question. The DreamDome is extremely strong. It is capable of high impact, high wind and very high dead load like a tree falling or something flying through the air. Much much higher than a conventional house. For example it can support several metric tonnes on the roof of even a small Dreamdome.
I love this I wonder how much they cost in total???? I would put at least four on my property if allowed. One an aviary, one an art studio, one bedrooms one kitchen living areas and bathrooms in there if I had money to spare.
Interesting, until I saw the proposed pricing on your website. You could build a comparably insulated ecoshell for less than half the cost, and it would be fireproof and available up to a 12 meter span.
Interesting! Maybe you can build an eco shell cheaper. The DreamDome and eco shell are very different animals. Have you built an eco shell? It would be interesting to understand the cost details of building an eco shell.
Japanese company came up with this idea a long time ago. Just look up for Japanese styrofoam dome house in internet. These days they have expanded that idea to a new higher level and affordable price. Unfortunately the company that makes them is not selling single sets outside Japan. But Chinese companies stole their idea and now are having any type of sizes and models too, I found them on Alibaba site where house around 45sq.m. is 3500 us dollars and you can buy just one of any shares and sizes. Question is are they good quality as Japanese, do they use the same expended styrofoam or regular..etc.
Hello Anna, We don't use polystyrene. Our system is a prefabricated FRP sandwich panel system.. that is fiberglass skins with a PIR foam core. It is delivered as a completely finished product. There is no additional finishing except for a plumber, electrician for connections and floor coverings of your choice. It comes with a mini pile foundation system and suspended insulated floor system .. no excavation or concrete needed ..The surface finish is similar to a fiberglass boat or aircraft. Our product is significantly higher quality than the expanded Styrofoam system. The Dreamdome is structurally engineered and meets building codes for up to category 5 cyclone or hurricanes. We have doubts about the Styrofoam dome being acceptable to the majority of western building codes.

If you take their 3.5 meter model ($14,685 US dollars) it will cost you $142. per sq ft. The average US house is $123 per sq ft. So no bargain here. Cut the price in half and you may get some interest.
They are designed to meet Florida hurricane code and other international wind codes for windspeeds in excess of 300kph AND they can be designed for higher loads when necessary.
Because the shape is naturally very strong, a dome shape is 35% more efficient in materials and it feels comfortable, safe and secure inside a dome space.

Will your domes withstand tornadoes? I live in tornado alley so this is a major concern. Can you deliver to anywhere in the U.S.? Other than having a professional lay the foundation, could an amateur with no building experience construct this dome? Are these domes more energy efficient compared to conventional buildings? Cheers!
WE can engineer and produce an above ground tornado capable structure. It is possible to deliver to any sea port in the US. We design the whole system t make t as simple as possible and the kit comes with an assembly manual. The DreamDome energy efficiency rating can be custom ordered. The slab needs to absolutely accurate to accept the structure. Our kit comes standard with a mini-pile system that can be rated up to cat 5 - we would need to take a look at the possibility of it being used for tornado loads. The DreamDome is poised to start production completion of the development of new IP - it will be very soon.
The DreamDome is available in a Cat 5 rated design. Together with the min-pile foundation system the floor is suspended off the ground and they are flood damage proof from top to bottom. They will still be there when many other structures are smashed up.

Good question. The DreamDome is extremely strong. It is capable of high impact, high wind and very high dead load like a tree falling or something flying through the air. Much much higher than a conventional house. For example it can support several metric tonnes on the roof of even a small Dreamdome.
How much is a 12 ft x 12 ft shipped to Texas I need 25 units 12x12 and two 15x15

I love this I wonder how much they cost in total???? I would put at least four on my property if allowed. One an aviary, one an art studio, one bedrooms one kitchen living areas and bathrooms in there if I had money to spare.
Hi Row, where are you located? Get in touch here and we will see what we can do: Pleas see the website for pricing and further info@dreamdome.com.au
so can they be painted, just thinking about a sub division with lots of domes all in bright colours
They can be painted and they can also be ordered in any colour finish
Is this available in the US yet? I want to buy this in the near future. ❤
Not yet. We dont know when it will at this stage.
Those are pretty cool
Oh my Gud!!! I want one!!
i wanna live in one so bad
Good for Florida
GREAT IDEA BUT IT'S NOT A NEW IDEA AND YOUR PRICES ARE WAY TOO HIGH. NOT INTERESTED.
If it is possible in the North Pole it is everywhere.
Where are you at, Mark? Do you have an idea and materials? Maybe you could figure out how to mass produce them, cuz every bit helps!
@@DreamDome Your website gives me a warning.
@@nikiking9915 Thanks for letting us know. Our SSL just ran out and we are fixing it now
Lower that price by a lot and you will sell a ton of them, but that price is ridiculous.
I was shocked to see the price. Absolutely ridiculous.
Are they fire resistant, strict bushfire rating regs in force for new dwellings in oz.
Hi Robert, They are highly fire resistant but still need to undergo and Australian Bush Fire test
Great idea...what is the cost in US dollars.
Please take a look at the website where you can download pricing and info: dreamdome.com.au/

Thanks.
Hi Bruce, would you mind to contact here at: info@dreamdome.com.au
is that in Australuan dollars?
@@npcsarenazees2832 lol 150k hopefully that's a finished product.
It's Precast.
It seems the product might be toxic. Do you ship to the US & I don't understand the sizing on your site. Your site seems outdated, wasn't sure if you are still in business.
For hurricanes, why not just build the ocean facing wall at an angle? If you're surrounded by other structures or mountains you know where the worst wind will come from.
What if someone had a buncha kids living in there. That would make me nuts. Need about 3 of em.🙂
There's no such word as "buncha"
no bathroom or kitchen?
3:00 Kitchens and bathrooms depicted in two different floor plans
Where is the bathroom?
It is on every floor plan.. But, to walk into a bedroom?!?! They need to work on the configuration a tad!!! Also, Hurricane-proof??
@@numberxx7 Single dome is a studio flat. Multiple domes ...
Where is the wardrobe ?

Hi i am interested to place a big order for earthquake hit areas can you please send me per square meter price
Hello Muhammad, Our building technology has advanced significantly since this video and our new systems also significantly reduce labour cost. To give you a somewhat accurate estimate of building costs we will need to know where you intend to build as building costs vary from country to country. Please get in touch here: contact@domeshells.com.au to
Very beautiful
Ok but at in what price range?
Pleas see the website for pricing and further info: dreamdome.com.au/
If you take their 3.5 meter model ($14,685 US dollars) it will cost you $142. per sq ft. The average US house is $123 per sq ft.
So no bargain here. Cut the price in half and you may get some interest.
Try about 5k. And no more
Good stuff, we love Dome structures, come talk to us, we'll help spread the word.
We ll live under a dome.....The Firmament
How would it stand up to a cat5 hurricane? I’m in south Florida.
They are designed to meet Florida hurricane code and other international wind codes for windspeeds in excess of 300kph AND they can be designed for higher loads when necessary.
Why are constructions made with rounded shapes? Any particular reason?
Because the shape is naturally very strong, a dome shape is 35% more efficient in materials and it feels comfortable, safe and secure inside a dome space.
Attractive, Affordability and Availability = well you have the first one, the rest are missing . . .
I hope that the tinny house is fiberglass plastic!
I think they are cute, kind of like a hobbit house
I understand internet marketing gurus tell you "don't put a price on it, make the customer contact you, then you hsve them hooked. Heres a tip from an internet buyer- no price, it looks to me like you are looking to milk me as a customer - no thanks, i'll take my money somewhere else,
Quanto fica pra eu comprar uma casa de 2 dormitórios sala e cozinha com um banheiro?

I have a feeling everybody is asking about these right now.

How strong are these dome homes when a CAT 4 hits?
You put it back on the truck and head inland. :)
@Paul Nicholson Is it a raised dome? I assume so.
@Paul Nicholson That dome was designed to withstand 300 MPH winds. I'm guessing not all are.
The DreamDome is available in a Cat 5 rated design. Together with the min-pile foundation system the floor is suspended off the ground and they are flood damage proof from top to bottom. They will still be there when many other structures are smashed up.
@@Skott62 Yes, they would usually be raised but can also be mounted on a slab
It looks like a giant cat liter box. Just kidding!
If you can make the dome rotatable at 360 degrees, that would be cool.
