The RUclips algorithm led me to this video and I felt like leaving a comment, when I first started towing RVs the first thing I did was have the dealer install a bigger (aftermarket) fuel tank on my F350 ( I chose a 50 gal tank). I suggest you research this option … your fuel range will go from 300 miles to about 700 or 800. The larger fuel tanks are expensive but I felt worth the money because I didn’t want to be stranded anywhere because of fuel and sometimes I didn’t want to stop every 2 hours to fill up. I got some useful info from this video. Thanks.
Greetings from Southern California Nikki! One suggestion for your cozy rig when you take it in to get the vents unglued. Ask if they could replace one of the vents with a Maxxair exhaust fan, it moves a LOT of air. Also add a vent cover for it so you can leave it open even in the rain. We have one in our 25' class C and use it way more often than our air conditioner.
Your doors are actually designed to drain water, there's a little indented spot on the bottom where it drains from and it looks like yours is clogged. Some models also have little rubber plugs as well, but just clearing the clog should make a huge difference.
I literally just ran out and looked and you’re right! You learn something every day!! I just wiped it all clean with some tissue and I’ll get some tweezers to pull out any more debris. Hopefully that’s now enough to stop the water building up inside and it’ll drain properly. Thanks so much for your advice :)
@@RoamingNikkiGlad I could help, I just learned that info not too long ago from this video by Big Truck Big RV at about the 3:50 mark ruclips.net/video/R6OkaIKtJWE/видео.html so credit goes to JD :)
Get a small ac from Walmart and stick in the window( build a little flip up ledge) or myself I use the window by my sink like yours, 1/2 of the power needed then what they sell. And there is no efficient ac other then a split pump which dealers don’t sell or install . ( on any major truck camper brand) but lots on overland vehicles.
Because we didnt have an inverter we would only be able to use that while at campgrounds and hooked up to power. I hear they are pretty good though. We ended up buying a cordless fan which was actually quite powerful. We just charged it when we were hooked up. Thanks for the comment. Happy to hear any tips and tricks 😁
This is a bit late, I know, BUT... the tank sensors are notorious for false readings. If you empty the problem tank and put in about a cup of Borax and fill it with water and add some Dawn dish detergent, let it slop around for a day's driving, then drain it, and flush it, it should return to being accurate. The flush is helpful, but doesn't really break things up, especially in places with 'hard' water.

@@RoamingNikki lol funny because i was looking at the adventurer but couldn’t get what i wanted without having to order n wait, n then i stumbled upon a northern lite, n it had what i wanted. Basically my circumstances were the reverse of yours - lol.
To be honest I can’t remember. We sold it about 6 months ago. I can tell you that it was gas and was the most expensive rig to move that we have had so far. We knew that going just a couple of hours down the road would cost us about $100CAD in fuel. And it didn’t last too long too. There were some trails we didnt take because our fuel capacity was not good enough to get us out and then back to a town to top up. You would need a few spare canisters if you wanted to really get out in the backroads.
No we found we don’t need a slide. Even with 2 of us in the camper, it feels really roomy. I don’t like the the potential mechanical problems you could get from having a slide out, and I have seen that some of them are really cramped if you leave the slide out at the ‘in’ position. They are also much heavier campers so I would have to look at a dually and probably something like an F450. I like it simple lol
Also, my thoughts are Lance lacks cupboards to put stuff away. Last i looked, they seemed to be more about making it look spaceful vs functional imo. Secondly, with no slide u can park anywhere n jump inside n make a snack or whatever, without squeezing in because you have a slide that makes it cramped inside when its in. Slides are colder, if its cold outside, slides are drafty. Cant be very stealth either with a slide. Thirdly the maintenance on a slide, more work, n ‘when’ the slide starts acting up, no fun now! And hey isn’t it the 1172 that has that useless bathtub? 🍻
@@matthewmusgrave616 We didn’t have to have a powerful inverter and battery pack to be able to use an AC if we are off grid. Or pay for a lot more campsites so we can plug in and use it.
Thanks for the tip. I had it checked twice. Once by the representative of the manufacturer of the camper and also an independent. We ran through a whole load of tests and checked with the center of gravity sticker that is on the side of every camper. It was sitting pretty 😊. It does have a designed overhang with the “porch step” and I think thats what you are seeing. Also we got the Adventurer camper which has extra headroom in the bedroom. That does make it very tall. It’s the best design for full time living with 2 people in my opinion. Thanks for the comment though. Appreciate your concern.

I heard putting ice cubes in and driving around for a bit will remove and hardened waste too. Haven’t tried either way though. Thanks for the tip 😊

I always wondered what happened to rental units. I see a lot more truck campers as rentals units.
I see a lot more c-class RVs as rentals here in BC from companies like Canadream and GoRVing. Fraserway do RV rentals too, including Truck Campers.

Northern lite truck campers have more head room, if you can afford them.
