I used to live in kolkata until 1996 and most record shops were on Lenin sarani Wellington square area and also on free school Street. What you show now are bigger shops otherwise in our times. The shop sizes were just like that of hole in the wall.

I had lost Ilyas Bhai's number when my phone crashed last year and was delighted to find his number here once again. Upon calling him, I received the terrible news that he has passed away a few months ago. He was a very humble and polite gentleman. Rest in peace.

Price is unbelievable here these days. I bought a fantastic Doobie brothers lp for 15 rupees in 2006. Many in fact. Today it is worth in thousands.
