You literally saved my job. QB was a total mess when the girl b4 me was fired. So I was hired to fix mistakes from 2017 to now. I ended up making an even bigger mess. So your video showing how to go in as another Accountant helped me delete every reconciliation and be able to start over. It's going to be quite a task to re-do everything but now it will be correct. I made the "Accountant" profile my Master Admin so that I could get back in after the invitation period had expired. Maybe that was unnecessary, but it would not let me use the same email to invite myself again. Anyway...I was able to wrap things up that way. Thanks, so much, for posting. My tears have almost dried up. Thanks for getting that thorn out of my paw ;-)
I know this is an old video but oh my gosh you just saved me!!! I am the “accountant” but also man admin so when creating my login I just did admin! I accidentally screwed up royally and needed to fix it and couldn’t find a solution so glad I saw this video!
Thank you for this video. I spent several hours unreconciling 330 transactions only to find I couldn't resume reconciling because the balance was wrong!
This is still relevant in 2022. QBO tries it's hardest to make things complicated so you HAVE to hire an accountant. Most people using Simple Start want to do it on their own... Thx for the workaround
I set myself up as the accountant. I typically use chrome, so instead I used Microsoft Edge. The first thing that comes up is my Client and under Banking it shows '1 connection failed'. None of the data is showing. No GL accounts, nothing. HELP!!
Once you undo the reconciliation to fix mistakes you can restart to clear balances again ?? Thank you I’m going crazy trying to fixed unclear balance from double entry. The unclear balance is subtracting from the registry recommendation report
Thank you so much. I reconciled and everything was great but then I noticed that I categorized some deposits wrong. So I changed the category and for some strange reason it showed my deposit as an expense. So naturally I deleted the expense. However, in doing that it took my reconciled deposit and unrecognized it. So now I'm going to do what you have suggested. Thank you

It does not work for international subscriptions (locations) of QB online. You can NOT invite an accountant because you don't have Accounting tab in Manage users menu.
I invited myself with a new email address, but when I went to sign in with it it told me I did not have a QBO account associated with that email address. Did I do something wrong?
God bless you! Have I mentioned how much I hate QBO because of crap like this? I do bookkeeping for small businesses and find that QBD is so much easier to use and manipulate. I think QBO was developed by accountants so that you are shackled to their services.

You need to set-up an accountant profile in Quickbooks first, and then send the invite for it to work. Thanks for this video.
