Really enjoyed your video on Ma Barker. We moved to Candler, Fla in 1983. We are about 5 minutes away from the original place where her house was. Every year they used to have re-enactments at her house. Actors dressed up like FBI agents, Ma Barker, Fred , it was awesome. There was activities, boat rides to see the back of the house. It was some event. When they moved the house on the lake, they said the lake rose a few inches because of the weight but went back down after it got out of the lake. Big fans Veronica and Todd

Jordan, there was ( I don't know if it's still there) a place in Ocala that was the morgue where they propped up the bodies. Back in the day ( in the 80's) there was a deli in that building where you could order sub sandwiches from that had all the newspaper articles from the time hanging on the walls. I as a young man enjoyed the ' Ma Barker' sub... The slogan was " it's sooo good, it's to die for". The house is in my area.
I remember when the house was at its original location and a private residence. The owners, at the time, used to get annoyed at all the people driving by to have a look.

I grew up, listening to the stories of how he ( bio dad)was head of a black hooded bandits as they were referred to in the papers. My sister and I took a trip to where all of this was to have taken place and went through old microfiche tapes and found the truth. It was as my mother stated ! even the part where a young man lost his life on his first night of robberies he only wanted to do one robbery to buy his girlfriend an engagement ring. Sadly, he was shot in the shootout, as my bio dad (I use the term loosely) was caught sometime later . Sadly, my mother married him without knowing his story until sometime later when the parole officer came to her front door looking for him. Bio dad was a criminal and served time indeed. I only met him one time when I was eight … makes one stop and think. I’m 76 now I have lived a life totally the opposite of what my early background would have suggested. So much more to this story, but only limited space. I have been blessed indeed.

Awesome vlog of this infamous, yet fascinating place. Belle Air is like a time capsule from the 1930s. Of course the bullet holes are an eternal reminder of the violent shootout. Fantastic job sharing this piece of history, Jordan!
And matching quilt was hanging in closet. I just love quilts and the talent it takes to make them...amazing work ..I love the Amish quilts best but cannot afford one currently

Maybe I don't understand, why would you patch over the bullet holes? That's a moment in history. This is like when they destroyed the garage from the St Valentine's day massacre. Now that wall resides in the mob museum in Las Vegas.

I lived in silver spring shores that is minutes away lol. They moved the house from its original location a few years ago. The house was still being used a house as resent as 10 years ago.
This was interesting I started watching it and said I’ve seen that house, how’d I see it then when the guide said “George Albright” I chuckled …. That’s how I was the matron in honor in his wedding in the early 90’s and he brought me and my husband at the time to see it one of our visits to Ocala. Small world… thanks again for the fun times. You say about the movie tha Shelly played the part of MacParker in, makes me think of the episode of Batman that she played the same character in, well the name was Ma Parker, she had 3 boys and 1 girl in. There was a shoot out in the episode too.
Nice video, reminds me of the house I grew up in S Florida. You may know this by now. The door you were talking about at the end of your video. It is called a servants door. It divides the kitchen from the dining room. Maybe they had it off for convenience? The house itself is a Sears and Roebuck house ordered out of catalog. Would be shipped out in sections. Anyway like the history video, thnks
Watched the first video. What a minute by minute it seems of the history. Very detailed. Very exciting to watch this video of the inside and outside of the house. I do have a question. If this house as I understand was moved across the river wouldn't this not be where it happened? I don't understand why would they try and cover the bullet holes. It's a very big and beautiful house.

I like the house. They lived pretty nicely. Ma Barker must have been a quilt maker. Such pretty quilts they had on their bed.

I saw a programme once that said an occupant after the shooting saw Ma Baker sit on the end of her bed. How terrifying.
