    Past perfect Simple
    1. Form.
    -Positive Sub + had + Vpp + (obj).
    - I had seen him before.
    - She had finished her work.
    - We'd lived in Phnom Penh for ten years before 2010.
    -Negative
    Sub + had not (hadn't) + Vpp+ (obj).
    - I hadn't seen him before.
    - She had not finished her work.
    - We'd not lived in Phnom Penh for ten years before 2010.
    Question Had + Sub + Vpp + (Obj)?
    W.h. + (n) + had + Sub + Vpp + ...?
    - Had you seen Sam before?
    - Had she finished her work on time?
    - How long had they lived in Phnom Penh before 2010?
    *** Use: The Pat perfect is used to make clear that one action in the past happened before another action in the past.
    - When I got home, I found that someone had broken into my apartment and had stolen my DVD player.
