Aho!! Brings a tear to my eyes!! Powwows just aren't the same anymore and i miss that feeling that used to be THERE!! Thanks for posting and ignore all negative comments and keep posting..
This brings tears to my eyes and memories. Honoring a drum group with the bone whistle salute is rare, yet i witnessed such an event all the way back in 1989. The music & dancing kept up for nearly 20 minutes, as with this clip. It's true, pow wows just aren't the same as they were in the 80's. So much pride, inclusion and community that is now still there but distant.
Historic footage. very powerfull and meaningful you never see this anymore. look at all the support and pride in all the dancers just beautiful. I am amazed by this video thank you for posting brings back alot of memories
thanks for sharing the video! i remember dancing at the pow wow..to red bull and seeing this brings back the spirit of what pow wow's really and truely were about..heart and pride and having fun dancing!! it's true that now days dancers only compete and do it for the money! these are old ways we used to live by...enjoying the whole weekend of singing and dancing and not just during the contests!
whistled songs are on drum group's CD's and drum groups are already adding whistled songs on their composed DVD's. Like SinAlbert said there is no pipe involved no ceremony. I added these songs cuz Red Bull family asked me too. And i have lotta respect to Red Bull fam one of oldest drum groups around anyway along with Mandaree, Chiniki Lake,Ndn Nation...etc etc. If you dont like it,then dont watch. i do go by the pipe n smudge ways. And You are not my teacher, enough said. :)
These Tiinowit traditional pow wow vids really bring back memories. I wish Red Bull and Stoney park along with all the older drum groups would return back here to White Swan WA.
You don’t know the Medicine you are providing me with right now! Drummer and Singer doing what they are created to do!!! I MISS hearing my brother and sister sing and dance…Truly loving and drinking in every moment…Thank you for making my Sunday. God Bless you. ✝️🪶❤️🔥⚡️
very powerful. this is the kind of gathering i remember when i was "knee high". my hands go up to you for sharing and many blessings for the people in this video. aho to all my relations, hytchka o`ciam ~ WashintonianSkin

I really miss this Pow Wow Tiinowit was one of those Pow Wow's that everyone had a really good time and left back home feeling great! Maybe one day they'll bring it back and we can all jam like this again...
redbull will always be the greatest of all time when we first started singing all we sang was redbull songs when we usta be called black bear that was before we joined up with eyabay it all came down to a flip of a coin to go bye eyabay or black bear and it ended up being eyabay just think it coulda been black bear world class champions 95'97'98
Hey To all my Native Bothers and Sisters... I'd like to pass on what an old friend told me.No matter what the white peoples tryed to do too crush the Native Spirt, such as the residential schools across North America. You can still find amounst the concerete and pavement THE NATIVE SPRIT GOING STRONG AND IT ALWAYS WILL THANKS TO VIDEOS LIKE THIS!!!!!! NO MATTER WHO YOUR TACHER IS YOU HAVE TO LOVE THE NATIVE WAY!!!!!
I am white but the native american spirit is DEEP with in me. I'm from the UK but this brings me peace and love to you. I love this drumming and always have.. AWAYAHO UTCHA HO
and why shouldn't this be shown! it's our tradition and they need to be told and seen the way they are really are. not how a white man or historian thinks it was! and besides it does show how much pow wows and everything have changed over the years! there is a lot they changed within them that looks plain ridiculous!!! but thanks again for sharing the video! it really does keep a sense of how pow wow's used to be..what they were really about...celebrating and having fun dancing and singing!
Yes, sacred cermonies, but pow-wows are celebrations for the people....this is not a sun-dance whistle....it is used to honor a dancer or drum for the song....Yes the sacred ceremonies CANNOT be video-taped, recorded, or even pictures...so keep with your traditions my fren but celebrate life and that you are Native
Long ago in a galaxy far far away, this powwow didn't allow whistle on drums the drum group had to pack up I sent it and they had drums go in the center no microphones to sing.
to tape or not to tape..who cares?? Thats why i stopped going to powwows. New NDNs get too fanatical about certain things. This is a competition powwow by the looks of it. Our teachings teach us to share and be kind, not go around tellin other ndns whats what and how its supposed to be. Sadly thats why i gave up dancing. I gave away the regalia i spend many many hours putting together. We all need to take a deep breath anf enjoy this wonderful video. meegwetch
You know, it's beautiful to see the culture in this way. Too bad some utter fools can't and won't get it. It's your land and your home long before anything went to these jerks. It's one reason I have a problem with "owning" anything, landwise, in this country.. I actually have a deed, to some land (untouched land) in the N.East. Ought to just give it back, for all of the use I get out of it. Anyway, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Aho!! Brings a tear to my eyes!! Powwows just aren't the same anymore and i miss that feeling that used to be THERE!! Thanks for posting and ignore all negative comments and keep posting..
All the singers dressed in jeans and nice shirts, no wife beaters. Beautiful video thank you for sharing and thanks to the Red Bull singers
And no throat grabbing only our southern singers still dressed up nowadays

Awesome music
The late victoria loved your music
If you just stare at the video, and listen to the drums, do you feel yourself going into a trance-like state of mind? I sort of do.
Dance me back to the circle. A longing as old as time. The dancers honor the drumers. The people honor the Eagle.🌍✌🏽
