I have two peach faced lovebirds :3 I got them a couple months apart and they absolutely love each other, so don’t give up if you want to give your birb a partner. You just gotta give them time to get to know each other and make sure they both feel safe and have a safe spot away from the other birb. When I introduced my birds I let them fly around in the same room and after a couple days my first birb let the other one in her cage. They’ve been friends ever since cx

People that don't understand bird psychology don't realize that when you have a single lovebird they consider you their flock. They also need to be handled each day or they tend to go wild. I would say they type of lovebird pet you get depends on the time you put into them. Put in the time and effort you will end up with a wonderful pet. For me i have many of them and my peachface are my hands on bird pets and my others are more of hands off. I wish there were more warnings to people in regards to the noise issue with lovebirds. If you are sensitive to loud or screechy noises, I don't suggest a lovebird as a generality as they DO make a high pitched screech noise that I found unbearable. Just a heads up!
They do. They do it more when they are calling you specifically. When they're just hanging out it's not as sharp, but when they want out of the cage or want to be with you, they will do their constant sharp piercing call.
O Dear! When I had one she was pquite quiet, only chirped when she heard me opening the door, so I had to open her cage as soon as I took of my shoes... Then after 2 years I rescued one male... Dear God! No comments 😮
Wow, I just saw this video of Lovebird. My 1rst 🐦 was a lovebird, 6 mths old and female. Her name is Esmeralda (Emerald in Spanish). Still have her, she's 14 yrs old. Speaks 2 languages like, chop chop, beso (kiss) she loves giving me kisses and i return her 💋, and says cafe (coffee). Love her. Her best friend is also a cockatiel, lol.
Thank you. You have been so helpful to me...I just bought a baby lovebird. Mine was a rescue and died after 6 years...so we will see..working on socialization..any videos on properly socializing your bird are appreciated. I love the fountain ..it is a must..pellets and real food bowl...working on that now...I dont like just the seed mix...not healthy.

I have two lovebirds my mom got me them it was unexpected, iv gained some of their trust and i have the yellow ones with a orange face, they are 2 months old :D and how you said females are more agressive im starting to get scared of her but shes pretty calm its the male thats like looking and protecting her, i make them listen to music it makes them calm and sometimes they fall asleep, and dont seem to freak out that much because i have spent hours looking at them and playing around with them. Im not a pet expert but yeah im trying my best to become best friends with them! But im only 9 years old and im the one took most likely play around with them and keep them calm my other family members really just do nothing
This video came at the perfect time. I have a baby lovebird and she is giving me a run for my money and I have six other bigger parrots! I haven’t watched the video yet but praying it’s helpful because I really have my hands full 😣
Keep him entertained with lots of shredding toys and fresh foods and time out of the cage. Never go to his cage when he screams, go when quiet and give him a treat and or praise.
My female is very loud and screeches If don't pay attention to her, she will purchase and picks at me she acts like she is feeding when I let her out she will not let me hold her she will bite, lf I open my hand she will stay perched in my hand
Awww look we went to pet store and looked at birds they get really expensive so we ended up with something else but still saving up for one they are so pretty thanks for sharing I connected 🌸🌸🌸🤗
Me too haha 😄 I know this is very late, but I am in the exact same situation 😁 I might be getting one so I’m doing all the research I can. So how did it go, did you get one? 🙃
I love Love birds. I would like to have one but I already have a sun conure and Hahn's Macaw and six Budgies. I live in a small apartment and wouldn't have room for a love bird and my babies are not caged. They are so smart. Your buy is so cute.
My good old best friend (Overlord, a peached face lovebird) died last valentinesday. He was 20years and a half old. I miss him so much. Typing this makes me cry.
Beautiful video. Thanks LoveofPets for all that you do for animals. You can explain very well you work very hard. Congrats on all your success so far you deserve it. Happy Easter to you, the family and all your pets. Much respect.
We think our little peachy one is a boy and our peachy lutino a girl. The girl is such a riot, while the boy asks for kisses all day. They're an incredible addition to our flock, but I'm very glad they're not my first birds as they're super smart and require a ton of my attention.
great video! love your species spotlight. I am laughing a bit about Sky crashing Sparkle's cute PG video by trying to mate with a perch...must be spring! Never a dull moment with budgies, that must be why he likes them.
Hiya, Nice clip, super lovely birds❣ Years ago we had a rainbow lorikeet and then one day I noticed a small yellow bird outside. It came immediately to me when I shook the seed container, so then I covered it with my other hand as I took him inside to safety. I had a spare cage & the birds got on fine. Spent their time mostly out of the cages. Sunny loved shredding paper and it was hilarious to watch him put the shredded paper in his wings. He was a busy little bird, turns out he shredded both sides of the vertical blinds we had which covered a double ranch slider space... he was a delight to have in our home. 🙂 (no response to the ads I placed when I found him, so he stayed on with us)👌🌏💖
@@livinglikefariha1320 She may be eating without you knowing, unless she was hand raised before you got her she wont be tame and it will be harder to hand feed her

I have two peach-faced lovebirds that I got as babies. They are brother and sister. When they were babies, I could tell them apart (well, based on what the breeder told me) because the black on their beaks were different from one another. But now that the black has disappeared, I can't tell them apart anymore. I named them Happy and Chipper but now I have no idea which is which so I just say "hey guys!" and they seem fine with that! :) I have a big cage for them and I also let them out everyday. They love flying around my house, hanging out on my shoulders or hands and they also enjoy riding around on the dog. LOL My only issue is, they crap all over the place!!!! I am constantly cleaning it. Also, I clean their entire cage out by washing everything and hosing the entire thing down every couple of days but I still feel like there is a strong odour in the house from their cage. Any suggestions for that anybody? Great video too - very informative! Thank you!
Not sure what the odour is because you are cleaning it. It could be the food or the birds. Sometimes the droppings can smell a bit but if it smells bad then maybe have their droppings tested for parisites or bacterial infections
Potty train them! (You should have already done so while they were still young and still babies enough to learn it quicker). It's fairly easy to "potty" train a bird...... it just takes the *complete* dedication of the bird's owner/person to all the extra time & effort involved in it to do it. (Just like any other training done for and with your bird/s). You can still try to work with them to teach them at almost any age, though..if it's not already taught to them while they're still young enough to learn it faster and easier. Step 1 to get started- Is always *YOU* being dedicated enough to it until it's finally completed and the bird has finished learning it... to always be *constantly* watching your bird/s and their body language during the very early stages of training. Almost *all* birds will poo at least every 10-20 mins or so apart.... The smaller the bird- the more frequent it needs to potty, but less amounts & messy. The larger the bird- the more often spaced apart it needs to go, but larger amounts and *much* more messy to have to clean. (Duhhhhhhh...lol) No matter the size of the bird, though... *ALL* of them will have a particular behavior they do right *before* they potty. Step 2- You just have to always be watching closely for it in order to be ready when it happens!! The majority of birds will always "squat" first- lower their body and raise their tail feathers at the same time and/or give their tail feathers a little SHAKE either right before or after they poo. (You'll just have to watch & learn for exactly what *your* bird's poo behavior is, if it varies a lot differently from tail raising & squating). *THIS* is exactly what you are watching for and waiting for your bird to do at least every 10-20+ mins apart. When it does- STEP 3- You simply go get the bird to step up on to your finger or arm and then take it to wherever/whatever you want it to learn is it's target spot for when it needs to go potty. And then remember to always heap *LOTS* of praise, rewards & head scritches on the bird when it *DOES* make it to the target spot and goes potty there!! After a few weeks..... they learn fairly quickly that by "going potty" *ONLY* at or in the target spot (trash can, bird stand, it's cage, toilet, etc...) will they be getting all that *extra* high praise, rewards AND attention from you when they do it correctly... which they just love and live for!!! FAIR WARNING: During the first early stages of potty traing... be prepared for and *EXPECT* the mishaps & accidents when they can't hold it and wait until they get over the target spot before they poo..... bc it *WILL* happen... and *OFTEN* ... at first, until they start to learn exactly what it is that you expect from them and what they are suppose to do!! And when it *does* happen.... *NEVER* try to punish them for it by yelling, screaming or anything else to them..... this is only counterproductive and will only terrorize the bird...and teach it *NOT* to learn the thing that you are wanting it to learn, or it will only cause it to get yelled at or punished when it *does* try to do it!! It will be simple enough "punishment" for the bird (and affect it a great deal more)...... for it to learn quickly enough that if it DOES "goes potty" *ANY WHERE ELSE* other than the target spot that you are trying to teach it to go to when it needs to poo...... that by doing *THAT* ..... it will only cause the bird to *NOT* get all that extra added praise, rewards and attention from you that your bird craves sooooo much...... because all of *your* focus and attention will *NOW* be going towards having to CLEAN UP the mess it just made, *INSTEAD* of all of your focus and attention being placed on HIM/HER when it *does* wait until it gets to the target spot to go potty. They tend to learn really fast exactly which one will get them the *MOST* attention and rewards..... so don't give up right away and just be very patient and give them time to actually *learn* what you are trying to teach them. And in no time at all you'll have a bird that knows *exactly* what to do and where to go when it needs to relieve itself..... so that by the time a few weeks have past (or months-depending on each individual bird and how quickly it learns things)........ it soon becomes a *Learned Behavior* and the bird will start going to it's own particular target spot that's been taught to it all on it's own..... *EVERY* time it needs to!
Potty training is a good idea but the droppings should not smell. It's best to set up an appointment at am avian vets and get their droppings tested. Sometimes if they are I'll or carrying parasites their poop can smell. Keep up with the cleaning. A playstand is good to have so that can hang out there and poop. When my birds are on me I put them on their stand and they poop there otherwise I have either kleenex or paper towel on hand to wipe up the poop
Hi do you have a video about taming lovebirds when they are young...I got one hand fed but he doesn.t do the " up up" to step up to the finger...thanks

Why do people always teach parrots to say something casual instead of "your doom approaches" or "i can sense your despair"
Jasenka Mada my dads cockatoo knows the f word and “heehee”

Speaks 2 languages like, chop chop, beso (kiss) she loves giving me kisses and i return her 💋, and says cafe (coffee). Love her. Her best friend is also a cockatiel, lol.
Nancy Vasquez wow that awesome! 14 years old! Hope my baby peach can make it too!
Limit seeds. Pellets are better and fresh food daily. I don't have any videos on socializing yet but may make a video on it soon.
Omg Sprinkle's is sooo adorable and cute ,I have 2budgies I don't have a lovebirds ,I wish to have one but my parents won't let me .he is so active and fluffy when bathing ,good job again love you so much

My lovebird is loud. My neighbors could hear her 😬
Oh no! Hope the neighbors are okay with the noise.
@@Loveofpets how do I teach my bird to you know, shut up sometimes?
Keep him entertained with lots of shredding toys and fresh foods and time out of the cage.
Never go to his cage when he screams, go when quiet and give him a treat and or praise.
My female is very loud and screeches If don't pay attention to her, she will purchase and picks at me she acts like she is feeding when I let her out she will not let me hold her she will bite, lf I open my hand she will stay perched in my hand

I love Love birds. I would like to have one but I already have a sun conure and Hahn's Macaw and six Budgies. I live in a small apartment and wouldn't have room for a love bird and my babies are not caged. They are so smart. Your buy is so cute.

Happy Easter! Thank you.
you are so cute!! so are your birds!, Please don't stop making videos
We think our little peachy one is a boy and our peachy lutino a girl. The girl is such a riot, while the boy asks for kisses all day. They're an incredible addition to our flock, but I'm very glad they're not my first birds as they're super smart and require a ton of my attention.
The net he’s climbing in at 8:24. Where did you get that? My lovebirds would love one...
great video! love your species spotlight. I am laughing a bit about Sky crashing Sparkle's cute PG video by trying to mate with a perch...must be spring! Never a dull moment with budgies, that must be why he likes them.
Lol, I was wondering if anyone would notice what Sky was doing.

I love this video so great
Hiya,
Nice clip, super lovely birds❣
Years ago we had a rainbow lorikeet and then one day I noticed a small yellow bird outside. 🙂 (no response to the ads I placed when I found him, so he stayed on with us)👌🌏💖
aww so cute but was he a lovebird?
I am still considering which bird to get. Or making an aquarium or both really help full video. Sprinkles is really a sweet bird.

@@elizabethhirst4040 How's it going with your two birdies?
❤❤❤ Thank you!❤❤❤
I have two peach-faced lovebirds that I got as babies.
Step 1 to get started-
Is always *YOU* being dedicated enough to it until it's finally completed and the bird has finished learning it...
to always be *constantly* watching your bird/s and their body language during the very early stages of training.
Almost *all* birds will poo at least every 10-20 mins or so apart....
The smaller the bird-
the more frequent it needs to potty, but less amounts & messy.
The larger the bird-
the more often spaced apart it needs to go, but larger amounts and *much* more messy to have to clean. (Duhhhhhhh...lol)
No matter the size of the bird, though... *ALL* of them will have a particular behavior they do right *before* they potty.
Step 2-
You just have to always be watching closely for it in order to be ready when it happens!!
The majority of birds will always "squat" first-
lower their body and raise their tail feathers at the same time
and/or
give their tail feathers a little SHAKE either right before or after they poo. (You'll just have to watch & learn for exactly what *your* bird's poo behavior is, if it varies a lot differently from tail raising & squating).
*THIS* is exactly what you are watching for and waiting for your bird to do at least every 10-20+ mins apart.
When it does- STEP 3-
You simply go get the bird to step up on to your finger or arm and then take it to wherever/whatever you want it to learn is it's target spot for when it needs to go potty.
And then remember to always heap *LOTS* of praise, rewards & head scritches on the bird when it *DOES* make it to the target spot and goes potty there!!
After a few weeks.....
they learn fairly quickly that by
"going potty"
*ONLY*
at or in the
target spot
(trash can, bird stand, it's cage, toilet, etc...)
will they be getting all that *extra* high praise, rewards AND attention from you when they do it correctly...
which they just love and live for!!!
FAIR WARNING:
During the first early stages of potty traing...
be prepared for and *EXPECT* the mishaps & accidents when they can't hold it and wait until they get over the target spot before they poo.....
bc it *WILL* happen...
and *OFTEN* ...
at first, until they start to learn exactly what it is that you expect from them and what they are suppose to do!!
And when it *does* happen....
*NEVER* try to punish them for it by yelling, screaming or anything else to them.....
this is only counterproductive and will only terrorize the bird...and teach it *NOT* to learn the thing that you are wanting it to learn,
or it will only cause it to get yelled at or punished when it *does* try to do it!!
It will be simple enough "punishment" for the bird (and affect it a great deal more)......
for it to learn quickly enough that if it DOES "goes potty"
*ANY WHERE ELSE*
other than the target spot that you are trying to teach it to go to when it needs to poo......
that by doing *THAT* .....
it will only cause the bird to *NOT* get all that extra added praise, rewards and attention from you that your bird craves sooooo much......
because all of *your* focus and attention will *NOW* be going towards having to CLEAN UP the mess it just made,
*INSTEAD*
of all of your focus and attention being placed on
HIM/HER when it *does* wait until it gets to the target spot to go potty.
They tend to learn really fast exactly which one will get them the *MOST* attention and rewards.....
so don't give up right away and just be very patient and give them time to actually *learn* what you are trying to teach them.
And in no time at all you'll have a bird that knows *exactly* what to do and where to go when it needs to relieve itself.....
so that by the time a few weeks have past
(or months-depending on each individual bird and how quickly it learns things)........
it soon becomes a
*Learned Behavior*
and the bird will start going to it's own particular target spot that's been taught to it all on it's own.....
*EVERY* time it needs to!
@@r.sanders8448 thank you so much.
