I went through the first interview as part of the makeover show. I halted the process when I realized that not only would my financial details be broadcast to youtube, my face would be broadcast also. That removal of anonymity was a big step too far for me. This makeover show is just starting out, and Root financial may change terms. For now though, that is the deal. Perhaps Root will consider audio only for the participant.
As a viewer, I absolutely love the concept. As others have mentioned, as a potential participant, I'd be very concerned about privacy. I know seeing the participant faces is very impactful. If you show faces, may I suggest using a filter to alter them. I assume aliases would also be a key part of the privacy equation.
Thanks for the innovation in delivery, James. I'd love to be a guest on your show and am willing to sign a media release form. I understand the limited engagement scope. Where do I sign? I'll go to the description link.
Excited to see these new changes. I emailed Ari who said you used to take non-clients and do example scenarios based on their financial situation. I would love to participate if your still doing this.
In most cases, you simply have to send a signed letter to your advisor to terminate the contract. In some instances, you may have to pay a termination fee.
The lack of anonymity would preclude me from participating. Either you didn’t consider or are naive to the notion that there are many people out there that would happily bring a fraudulent law suit against you to try to obtain your hard earned wealth. Unfortunate I know, however such is the way of the world.
I also prize my anonymity, but for different reasons. I think a reasonable response to your concern is 'a hefty umbrella insurance.' It's the cheapest way to have a high powered lawyer on retainer against nuisance lawsuits.

Very smart! Good luck with the new format, I’m looking forward to it.

This is fantastic! I love the podcast and look forward to the new formats. I hope to make the makeover case study! 😊
Thanks James. I think that the new format is going to be great!
This is a great idea. I am approaching early retirement and will greatly benefit from this!

Great new format concepts.
Hope to be a part of it!
Good show. Finding only a portion of SS is taxable and gov calculator was major for me. Now I can pull from my 401k with some logic. Thanks.
Can you change the public names on the case study?
You know, like Dragnet, for those old enough to remember such things.

I want to be part of your case study
If you sign the advisory agreement are you charging fees after the assessment? What’s the process to unwind the agreement if one decides to move on?
