+Rory reviewer They are five posthomous suplementary variations of the same theme by Baron von Fricken that Schumann didn't publish in life, so Bramhs did it in 1890. They are often played but in positions within the etudes cycle that use to vary.

Dear Ilya, your comprehension and interpretation of Schumann stand among the best and greatest I've ever heard. You reached and moved my soul.. Bravissimo and a million thanks. Long live and may God bless and keep you in His love for ever.
John Lennon sampled the part from 28:43 - 28:45, looped & reversed it for "Revolution 9". Obviously, this is a different recording, but it's note-for-note.
I know one thing for sure: This competition does justice to the great pianist that Rubinstein was. I am amazed of the high level of the participants and all the attention that's been payed to many details.
I'm confused. Starting at 9:23 there is a part that I haven't heard in other performances of this piece and is not in my sheet music, are there two separate editions or something?
what rendition is this?he's playing more than ten variations.I find the five additional variations in another sheet music.Does he play these variations randomly?i see that he combined them with the original ones.Do you know wich is the order??
man man man! Kinder! Solche Kommentare "its a little bitt too fast" ist nicht nur kindisch, sonder fast schon irgend wie beschränkt! Von 100 Pianisten würden vielleicht keine zwei identisch schnell spielen, also was solls?
Very lively interpretation! Plenty of emotions.

Posth etudes that are included in different parts of the piece :)

It’s up to the pianist to decide where to insert the additional etudes. Many don’t play them at all even though they represent the best in Schumann

Oh, tell me why please. You don't like his "touching"?
this is the schumann symphnic variation....
If you listen to Gilels' interpretation, you'll see that this one is a bit too fast.
If you listen to richter’s interpretation you’ll find this one is a bit too slow. In other words it’s up to the pianist to decide
Hercules meets Schumann.
Russia is turning out some great young pianists these days.
