I like the ceramic bezel personally. It adds a bit of pop and interest. It may have been a bit boring otherwise. For me, the watch looks much better in the flesh than on camera. Currently I am wearing it on the Isofrane but also purchase the Aquastar bracelet. I’m curious how it will wear on it. Enjoy yours, it’s a great piece.
Yeah, the ceramic is definitely growing on me. Plus it’s just nice to have some variation between the look of my two dive watches. Also, thanks for not saying “in the metal”! That phrase makes my soul hurt.
@@working_mans_watches My diving days are over but will get to snorkel and surf with it soon :) Been salt water fishing with it and stands up great to saltwater and anchovies.
Ha! I’m just like you: I purchased a Citizen JP2000-08E and the Aquastar Benthos 500 II Founder’s Edition (such a long model name!) based on Jason Heaton’s preference for such timepieces. So far, I’ve taken the Citizen on a couple of dives at Catalina Island and off the Miami coast, and the digital dive log reflects those dives, but I’m really looking forward to diving with the Aquastar and timing my three-minute safety stops with the chronograph! 🤿
@@working_mans_watches Thanks! Not yet, but soon! For such a chunky watch, the Benthos 500 II wears surprisingly quite well! It looks much better in-person than in photographs and has great wrist presence, but, in a world saturated with dive watches, it goes relatively unnoticed by the masses. I assume you’re going to get the BOR bracelet when becomes available next month? Have you received your Jason Heaton book yet? I received mine the same day I received the Aquastar. I thought the shipping from Aquastar in Austria and Swimpruf in Minnesota, USA was coordinated! Which one did you order with your watch? They’re both great reads!
Excellent choice of bracelet.
I first thought it came with the watch. 😍👍
It should! And hey, anytime Aquastar wants to hire me as a design consultant, I’m available.

@@working_mans_watches Same here ... its my only ceramic bezel on any of my divers and its a nice change!
Enjoying my Aquastar Benthos 500 founders. Mine is on a Prometheus NATO which works great in the ocean.
Glad you're enjoying it! It's an awesome watch. Have you taken it diving?

Prometheus as in PDW?
A day date! Like a Seiko? Vandal, maniac! 😂 Jaysus, must agree tho, my fave complication, Omega Chronostops are the collector entry point imho.
Did that oyster style braceler come with the watch?
No, I bought that from Strapcode.com. Well, actually I bought it from Amazon, but Strapcode makes it. It's called the "Hexad" bracelet.

That's awesome. You have great taste! Had a chance to use the Aquastar yet?

I like the Ginault Silent Service for $1,500.
Yeah, that's definitely a cool watch.
Hood winkee 😂
Interesting egg timer.
Thanks, man. I’m looking forward to timing my menstrual cycle with it.

@@working_mans_watches 🤣🤣🤣
it looks heavy with that bracelet?
It’s heavy, but in a very pleasing way. Some guys prefer the lightness of titanium, but that’s just not me. Give me a heavy watch any day of the week!
Thin up the case and it's still 15.5mm 😂.
Hell yeah!
