He so enriched our lives. What a tragic life he had at the end, losing his only child and his wife. I hope he is reunited with them, and rests in peace.

I adored that man, loved his movies and his faithfulness to his wife! No philanderer! Loved his sexy accent and always wondered what happened to him! Never knew his only son died! May all three rest in peace, he gave the world to the little girl that watched his films, me!

Thank you for such a nice tribute to the Boyers. The ending almost brought me to tears. Having said that, I was glad to hear that he had a lasting & Happy marriage, but sad because he felt that he could not go on without her. I hope they are at peace.

Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong generation. In my teens I was watching old black and white films while my friends were watching current blockbusters that had no depth. The first time I saw Charles Boyer was in the movie Gaslight with Ingrid Bergman. What talent and sophistication!

Thank you for a sad, but elegantly presented, biography of Charles Boyer. So much tragedy, I don't believe anyone deserved a happeir life than Mr. Boyer. I know that his happy marriage was interupting by tragedy for them both. he was so loved. It's sad that life was so tragic for him.

Jerry Skinner What I especially like about your work, Jerry, is that you treat the subject foremost in your presentation ….. not like the majority of others who are pompous and make themselves seem like the centre of attraction, pretending to be “experts”, and thinking they are more interesting than the subject. I am looking forward to seeing many more of your videos!

I consider myself very strong minded. However, if like Mr Boyer I lost my family then what is left? Nothing!!!
There is only one downside to having children. You become vulnerable. Suddenly someone enters your world that you can't live without .
My mum always liked this actor. Thank you Jerry

    • @gulmerton2394
      @gulmerton2394 4 года назад

Yes you’re right about the children you can’t live without the moment they were born.... I always wonder how parents can endure the loss of a child and admire them for the strength they put into continuing living....I don’t ever want to be faced with this kind of unnatural tragedy. Nobody does of course...

Jerry, I'm a new subscriber and am enjoying catching up on your vids. I feel as though I've been transported back in time reliving talking to a slightly older man in my neighborhood years ago. He told stories of riding trains during the depression, WWII, and women he loved. We sat on his front porch and talked and laughed. It brings a smile to my face to remember those times. It is such a shame that today we are in such a hurry to get somewhere we miss so much. As to the negative comments about your narration? As we say in the south, "Never you mind." Let others run around like chickens with their heads cut off (horrible visual but apt). I, and many others, enjoy the time spent listening to oral histories on your front porch. Y'all come back now, hear?

A nice tribute to Charles Boyer, who had a tragic end to his life.
I've now subscribed to your channel, but I am appalled by some of the comments I have read in regards to your commentary. Especially as you obviously do this as a passion and trying to spread information and knowledge through the medium of the internet. Although some of the information may be erroneous, it gives us an opportunity to learn about some people we may know nothing about and then decide to do our own personal research into these personalities. I'd also add that some of information about these people from other sources tend to be complete dross anyway.
I'm from London, England and I both speak and write using very proper English. I can safely say that there is nothing wrong with your accent or your narration, I enjoy it very much and am understanding of the fact that different people emerge from different backgrounds; which no doubt distinguishes their diction and dialect.

What a most admirable man and actor is Charles Boyer. An obviously "good man" of intelligence and integrity............... A good wife ..............and a good family. How sad for the circumstances. It can happen to the best of us.His great work and worthiness will always be a life of it's own reflecting his unique identity! ........To know some of his work....please try to see him on "Four Star Playhouse" 1952-56.

It is obvious from some of the viewers comments regarding the commentaries, that they have never heard of that great Irishman, George Bernard Shaw.
He said "we have two nations separated by the same language". How true.
It is also said that "every time an Englishman opens his mouth he is despised by everybody else because his accent is either working class or upper class". I wonder what mine is?

Christians, in the utter depths of their ignorance, think that committing suicide is a mortal sin. I find it highly ironic that a religion that claims to be so "loving, compassionate, and moral," is so quick to judge and condemn. Thanks for this loving tribute.

      Secret Agent
Good question. I contribute to many of Jerry Skinner's threads. In one of them, on the suicide of one of my favorite actors, Brian Keith, some Christian poster, or who I refer to as, "professional judgers," was quick to condemn him to Hell. The rest of my thoughts on this religious practice I have already stated. I do not care what bizarre agendas ANY religion practices. It's none of my business. I just don't appreciate anyone using YT to promote their private rituals and superstitious beliefs. So, you might say, I did this for my OWN sanity. And incidentally, you belligerent jerk, if you didn't want to "stick around for the answer," why did you ask??

I'm very sorry, but you're very, very wrong. On this point, Christianity is clear: Suicide is a sin. Period. The moment you start rewriting the basis of Christianity, the Bible, you begin to destroy the entire foundation of the faith.

Spoken like a true Christian. But I'm not an atheist, you moronic airhead. You need to do some more praying. But this time, pray for a BRAIN. Amen??

The word does say that suicide is a sin, and that murdering is too but it also says God sent his son to die for our sins. Therefore it really isnt our place to judge for we arent the judge, god is. Those christians who youve encountered probably feel very passionate about the subject but should continue their walk in faith and spread love as christ did. Go in peace.
